The Mirage fetch lands would be great for pioneer. I do have one question though If they reprint or print anything for Pioneer would it also be legal in modern and other formats?
There would be no fetch lands for pioneer. I'm 99% sure they will ban mirage fetches in pioneer when they release them in return to zendikar in a year.

I think deck's concept is weak right now. All these decks that WANT to have some cards in the graveyard.. Usual card advantage game doesnt apply to them, so 8Rack is not functional against them.

I think MTG Nexus deserves a chance. Developers have put money on the table after they’ve been told MTGSalvation was to close, before a rival company took over and decided to maintain the site. Please have a look at MTGNexus. It’s awesome, with excellent tools on the front page, truly beautiful primers, and a superb look everywhere.

I would prefer the community to move there, but I can’t force anyone...
I checked that site and it looks like it has 100 times less visits. You are the only poster in that thread there, Im not going to move.

I actually think if we're open to splashing that Despark is the most exciting card in the set aside from Davriel. It's a single card that simultaneously deals with both leyline as well as the card advantage walkers that give us trouble like Jace and Teferi with a bit of utility in being useful against some creatures. I've played anguished unmaking in the past when I was splashing white and I think that this is generally going to be better when we want it, although I'm unconvinced that boarding to go after the leylines is ever going to be better than delirium skeins which was the direction I eventually settled on.
Despark is bad, this is Modern, people dont want to play expensive cards here. Its dead 90% of the time

Why didnt wizards print Modern Masters 2019?
Thats so stupid of them imo
They could sell modern staples at $10 per piece of paper
Now players complain and counterfeiters get a free season of printing Jace, Opal, Liliana, fetches and so on

I think horizons will bring them more money than another masters set easily. If even 2 new cards are staples in modern that’ll be enough to sell tons of packs as it’s the only way to get them.
as for the original question, the simple and reductive answer is that the masters series wasnt sustainable. too many competing interests, and the product either had to adapt or move aside for something new.
What competing interests? 1) They can print a set and be sure it will be sold (make money) 2) Players happy with prices going down 3) Players get a new somewhat unique set to draft
Whats else is needed from a product if players are happy with it and company makes money?

I dont know why wouldnt they sell another modern masters. If iconic masters was a failure they can learn from their mistakes and make a good masters set.
Reprinting legacy stuff for modern is not what modern wants, let legacy be legacy and modern be modern.
Modern wants modern reprints to be excited to open them and to make modern cheaper.

I think they should have been more cautious printing Skewer the Critics. It's definitely upped Burn's power significantly. I'm unsure what the correct costing should have been, however. Instant with nonspectacle cost of 3R? Burn thread says it's cast for R about 80% of the time, and with that rate, 2R is fine to pay for it every once in a while. Another issue is that I'm unsure what to ban from Burn if it runs out of control. Probably Eidolon?
I think Burn cant run out of control. Its very one-dimensional and easily counterable. If it gets to high meta percentage people will use more lifegain and Burn will fall. I think Burn, Affinity and Dredge are all very good decks to be t1-t2 forever and at the same time they are self-balancing because they are easy to counter.

I have to say that Stirrings has restrictions on card colors, not types to make this conversation look sane.

Its not a relevant deck building restriction any more than CoCo or Azcanta have restrictions. Artifacts, Lands, Creatures, Spells and Planeswalkers. Stirrings can find those card types, based on a colourless restriction that is, based on its inclusion in multiple tier 1 archetypes, irrelevant.
Yes CoCo and Azcanta are good comparisons as restrictions and while Stirrings costs 1, Coco is a instant card advantage and Azcanta is huge card advantage. I agree with wizards the restriction is real, to make Stirrings work you need a green heavy (to enable t1-t2 Stirrings) and colorless deck at the same time. When they say restriction, I think they compare it something like Ponder which doesnt have restrictions at all.
