A generation of woke, entitled players probably made this rumor. I don't really own that much RL, only really few. As much as I want to get my hands on some RL cards which sadly I can't, I understand the existence and importance of the RL. I think everyone should understand its existence and importance too. If you can't come to terms with its existence maybe don't get into the hobby or stop being a retard.

Not sure what politics has to do with this, but your statement seems out of place. The reserve list only favors investors, who have become a minority since the creation of the game. Nowadays, those that play the game drive MTG by far and if people stopped playing the game (which won't happen anytime soon) all colletions would cease to be valuable. That is why I believe that Wizards missed an opportunity by failing to at least revise the RL. They could have made a change to the RL while at the same time allowing investors to sell their cards for a fraction of their value. Then they could have focused on the true drivers of their product (the players) but for some reason felt threatened by a group that simply has more bark than bite (Any case brought into court would ultimately be thrown out because you can't keep a company from producing its own product).

At the end of the day, I know Hasbro / Wizards won't make any changes to the RL going forward. I accepted that a long time ago and I think everyone else should as well. As usual, greed can ruin anything and this was definitely the case here.

Doesn't this card combo with Tormod? I believe his card says that whenever a card leaves your GY, you get a zombie.

I mean discarding cards from their library, which blue seems to be proficient in. Discarding from the hand is a black ability I utilize frequently. I think blue may just have to remain a support color for me, at least for now.

Ah yes! Milling! Blue is very good at that.

My Fiancé and I started playing Magic about a year ago. Since then we have become utterly obsessed. We’ve dabbled in all colors, but I play primarily Black, and he plays primarily white...to the point we have a rule that I’m not allowed to make a mono white and he’s not allowed to make a mono black. In our time playing magic, I have utterly crushed him. 95% of the time I win our matches, and at this point I have 3 well working decks that I have played against multiple people with great success. I love building decks and I came to realize I understand every color except blue. Now, don’t get me wrong. I know why blue is the most powerful color. But making people discard cards and tap creatures and return them to their hand feels....tedious. I like the precision and ferocity of black and red. Green and white clearly have their merits, but blue, as powerful as it is, doesn’t seem fun. I don’t mean to sound pretentious. I know I’m a noob in the world of magic and I have a lot to learn. So what am I missing here? I tried to make a blue deck with chasm skulker, nadir kraken, and toothy imaginary friend. My spells focus on cards that allow me to draw cards and enchantments that maximize the number I can draw to grow the creatures out of control. Even though it’s not really in the spirit of blue, It’s a mean deck for sure, but it’s still boring. I don’t have spells to target players, only their libraries (which feels cheap) and I prefer blacks method of killing and exiling rather than returning to hand, even though I see how it would be frustrating and mana drain the other player if they really wanted that card. Is this just not my play style and I should mix other colors in or simply play other colors? Or am I missing something crucial? Please help!

Actually, blue isn't good at making people discard. That is a power that black holds almost exclusively. Other than that, you're spot on with blue. In general, blue is taking a long term approach to winning.

Were you trying to pull the VIP force, box topper, or regular? The regular ones are only $90-$100. Jace is even less. If you were trying to pull the foil borderless, that’s extremely rare.

You probably want to add, “if this was played from your hand, add “” to your mana pool.

Orim’s Thunder has been awesome for me. Being able to destroy an artifact or enchantment and a creature with one card is great.

Having expensive cards drop in price, thereby making them easier to come by, is a problem how...? If you want a collection of stuff to sit around with no function other than accumulating value, go buy some freaking gemstones or something.

I wish they'd used the EMA art for Isochron Scepter, though. It looks much better than this one.

Its a collectable TRADING card game.

So it would make a lot of sense to print a card just 1 time and stretch the "reprint" time to a long time, otherwise your own product invalidates itself (basically the exact problem they had with Chronicles, printing all the cards to the ground).

If you just want cards to play casually, nothing is stopping you from just using Proxy cards, value wise nothing can ever beat that.

The only reason to buy the actual cards is to have the value associated with them, namely a collectable item and being able to play in sanctioned tournaments (which for almost any EDH/Commander is basically not a thing at all).

Making cards cheaper by reprinting everything to the ground just makes the product worth less.

And WotC "fixes" that problem by making the product itself more expensive, which ultimately defeats the entire point of reprinting cards to make them cheaper, as everything gets universally more expensive as a product, while at the same time the actual content of that products becomes less and less valuable as the sets themselves have no identity at all if the content is just reprinted everywhere.

In general, if you want specific cards, you buy them as singles.
Or you buy product and trade for it ; which can only work if the new product is remotely of interest to the people that have the old cards ; but if you just reprint the old cards, the entire trading aspect gets undermined (especially if the card has the same artwork and is in no way different at all).

If at the very least (and we get there with the alternate art) cards would always have different artwork, then you could value specific artworks as a collectable item (and thats the case for super premium ones, which become the only option for any collectable value at all, as anything else is just worthless).

The game is meant to be played. Collecting is a secondary part of the game. If players can’t purchase the cards, the game become worthless. Who would collect something that no one plays? The biggest problem with magic right now is people trying to invest in it like it’s the stock market, essentially destroying the game. You want the players to be able to purchase cards (proxies suck) so that they can play the game as intended. This idea that collectors drive the game is ridiculous.

And in that case, I would definitely say that JTMS isn't better in Modern, it just a little more frequent. In Legacy, there are just so many ways to use him to you advantage vs. Modern since there is a larger card pool (obviously). Brainstorm is the best ability on JTMS by far in Legacy and the others are rarely used in comparison.

Oubliette is now just straight gas in Commander. An O-Ring that doesn’t let your opponent move their commander to the command zone. In addition, it can nullify stacks of equipment if they’re on a Creature. Straight gas I tells ya

It doesn’t do much, it is removed easily. Not sure why there’s excitement about it, other than using the new wording of phasing

The fact that they kept the Terese Nielson art for the regular card brings a tear to my eye... Thumbs Up
they said they couldn't remove her art in time, just like noah bradley
Or they'll just flush more Force of Will's down the toilet in protest to drive up the price of the card because we're all being told by MTG Twitter to hate Terese Nielsen for her political bias when it shouldn't even matter. Better than Gerry Thompson defacing them with a Sharpie at least. >_>

It isn’t for no reason. You may not like the reason, but it is a legitimate one. Also, you’re not being told to hate her, she followed questionable groups and the company responded to it. You can still collect her art if you want.

No one is asking everyone to forget the past. Eliminating the existence of racist or insensitive cards does erase the memory of slavery or other injustices against humanity. It is a similar issue with states - you don’t put these thing in the face of those who were affected by it.

I totally agree, and yeah, the only one I truly seen and should have been dealt with (like 20 years ago) was the Invoke Prejudice, but the rest is basically comes down to that. And the Imprison to me is just taken out of context. Its an iron looking mask from art work from the early 90s, its not as crisp and clean as it would be today, and then you got the people who say its because of "Slavery", well, biggest bust on that is slavery has been done for thousands of years from nearly every culture around the world.

The fact that slavery was acceptable back in the day is no excuse for creating a card referencing it. In general, just because the majority agrees to something doesn't make it right. There are numerous examples of this throughout history. That is just another way to try and justify one of the most inhumane crimes against humanity.
