For what it is worth I hope that there is a little something coming down the pipe, and the majority may well be happy with how things are going, I definitely do not speak for the majority as all I can speak for is the small group I know in my area, those are just their fears and I was simply voicing it. However from my understanding the consensus seems to be that there just may be a banning of DRS in the future (from the cries in this thread which I admit are a small minority of people) this is why the players in my area are worried. Hopefully it is an unfounded worry.

I want to clear up my post a little.

First I do not feel that everyone needs to be agreeable, different points of view are what make the world interesting. Perhaps I was a little harsh in just over generalizing my comment on ignoring bocephus, I am more towards ignoring the snide comments and Rolleyes emoticon he uses so much because in my eyes it really is just trolling. That being said I am fine that bocephus has his likes and that modern is fine for him, I just feel that his snide attitude is not needed, but hey thats me, and I suppose I should not push my beliefs on this thread. So anyway, for what it's worth I apologize for rushing into a post bocephus.

Second, I worded it badly when I said that people are tired of getting decks banned out from under them ( I was sort of referring to Eggs there ). The biggest point I was trying to get across was that people in my area are afraid to invest in modern for FEAR that if their deck over performs it will eat bans and then they have to either pick up another deck and worry that whatever they pick up will eventually eat bans, or not invest in the format. I am not advocating that ANY card is let off the list all willy nilly ( cept maybe GGT ) just that they do REAL testing with the ones that are not obviously ridiculous ( BB, AV et al. ) with the CURRENT meta in mind.

As usual Boce, I've said something 3 times, and 3 times you've completely ignored it. But again, as usual I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and spell it out a fourth time, hoping that it might eventually sink in if you read enough.

Dark Thopter in Extended was using Depths as their PRIMARY WIN CONDITION. When something is a PRIMARY WIN CONDITION you want as much redundancy as possible because you are expecting to see the combo EVERY GAME because it's your PRIMARY way to win.

This is quite different from the decks posted which used it as a SECONDARY WIN CONDITION. This is very different from a PRIMARY WIN CONDITION. The idea behind a SECONDARY WIN CONDITION is that it is, as its name implies, SECONDARY. Which means you are looking PRIMARILY to win with your PRIMARY WIN CONDITION, but if you have an opportunity to get your SECONDARY WIN CONDITION, you will take it for the free win. Because it's NOT your PRIMARY win condition, you don't want to overload and water down your deck with it more than needed. Because you're still PRIMARILY counting on your PRIMARY WIN CONDITION to win, as you'd expect.

How can I make this clearer, since I'm sure you still haven't gotten it even with me highlighting the key points.

Soul Sisters. They have a primary win condition of efficient beaters like Serra Ascendant and Ajani's Pridemate. But many have a SECONDARY win condition in the form of a singleton Felidar Sovereign. See, because the Felidar Sovereign is usually a free win if you can resolve it. But you don't want a lot of them because you only need 1, and it's usually detrimental. But the free wins make it worth it.

Restore Balance Combo. A less popular deck, but retains the same idea. It often uses large suspend creatures to win the game due to the ability to stall the game and clear the board with restore balance. But due to the large number of borderposts present in the shell, you'll often see a 1-2 of either Tezzeret or March of the Machines. You see, no more than that, because your primary win condition is still the uncontested suspend creatures and you don't want to water down your deck too much. But the fact that they give you an "oops, I win" freebie if you draw them late means they make it into most lists.

Affinity. Wait, isn't it an aggro deck, counting to 20? Then why would it run Inkmoth nexus which can't help with that? Oh right, because if your primary win condition of counting to 20 is hampered, it can be a free win if drawn. Almost as if it were an alternate win condition completely separate from the primary one, and that you instead count on second...

I can keep going. Either in this format or others. But the point should hopefully be abundantly clear by now. There is a big difference between a primary win condition, and a secondary one that you add for random free wins.

I would not bother with bocephus, best thing to do is ignore him and pretend he does not exist.

As far as the ban list, I feel it is a little too oppressive. Modern has all but died in my area because people are tired of investing in a deck to have it banned out from underneath them. My personal opinion would be that wizards should re evaluate the questionable cards on it ( GGT, BB, AV to name a few ) and actually do some REAL testing to see how these cards would effect the format, at least show us you are doing SOMETHING. Just my 2 cents.

I was in the Air Force from 2001-2007 and I had plenty of time for FNM's, random tournaments here and there and gaming on the xbox and PS2 or computer gaming. All in all it depends on your AFSC ( job ) in the Force how much time you will have. I was POL ( Fuels ) so I would fill the planes with gas. Not a very time consuming operation so in my off time there was plenty of time for fun. And the deployments were not that bad for me, I was deployed to Iraq from 2004-2005 and a couple of us guys got together and wrote Wizards an e-mail and they sent us booster cases of Mirrodin Block so we could start up a pseudo FNM there. Hope that was helpful in your decision.

    To the OP.

You mentioned Solid Snake and his inability to show emotions. This is wrong. He specifically talks about this when Otacon throws a fit because Snake did not react and lose it after the Sniper Wolf fight. He said that emotions have NO place on the battlefield. This is the epitome of truth, I am prior military and have been on the battlefield, and you do not have the luxury of being sad or depressed etc.. the moment you do, you could be dead, there simply is no time for it, unless you do not value your life.

either way, whats done is done. Grats to those that got them and maybe I will be able to pick these up somewhere for a reasonable price, if not, oh well, it is just a card game after all. Smile

when could we expect cancelled orders to go back into stock? If it were to happen of course.

my suggestion would be that if you really want this product to go get one put on hold at your LGS now because there may yet be some more great stuff spoiled that will jack the price up higher than it already is.

On a side note, i am fine with the way these special limited releases are handled, they are not meant to flood the market and if the price of the cards in them ( this one being Jace ) is worth more non foil than the MSRP then why would you expect to get a foil Jace plus 19 other cards for only $40.00?
