Are these fast aggro changes, that are being proposed, a result of theory crafting or play testing? Because i've been jamming the BtL version online for the last week and it seems perfectly fine. I've beat a handful of Tron, Burn, Merfolk, and Abzan CoCo without much trouble. I lost to Hatebears the other night, but that was due to not being able to search my deck, not the small creature clock. The deck can run like a clinic sometimes when you fog with a few Tribe Elders, bolt a thing or two, then combo off.

I'm not sure what the problem is. Obviously a deck with 4 Cryptics and some number or BtL's/Scapes can draw the wrong half of the deck from time to time, but for the most part it is consistent to curve out and start Crypticing by turn 3, which is powerful. Of course the deck is slow if you do absolutely nothing until turn 4, but it isnt built to do that, and if you kept a hand that doesnt do anything until turn 4 then you deserve to lose with any deck.

Yup. Control decks already suck, now every midrange and control deck gets trumped by this deck. Seriously, can control possibly get any worse than it is right now?

Eldrazi plays much more Jundy/midrange game which Twin just doesn't do well against. Sorry Twin doesn't just faceroll over everyone I guess? FYI if you can manage to get a Blood Moon out it does slow them down considerably. The only really broken thing it does involve Eye/Temple/Urborg effects and Moon stops all of those.

I feel as if a resolved Blight Herder (and it always resolves, because you sure as sht arent going to Remand it) is game over. Its a Hordeling Outburst on a Goyf that costs like 3 mana, how many cards do you need to take care of it? Too many. What a beating.

Let me explain something to you guys who dont play as much as i do or understand the game as well as i do. This matchup isnt like Tron. I play Twin a lot and Tron, while having gotten much better with Rending Volley and Newlamog, is still a very good matchup for Twin. Eldrazi tears Twin a new one through discard, ripping your GY apart, multiple kill spells, and then putting 7 power on the board for 3 mana that you cant counter or Remand. Tron doesnt do any of that.

Blood Moon does next to nothing. BM isnt even very good against Tron either. This Eldrazi deck will contribute to a major shift in Modern. Did someone seriously just say to play midrange creatures against Eldrazi. We need real answers, not guys who dont know what they are talking about.

The next guy who tells me to play Affinity is getting a a fist shoved up their anal cavity.

I jump around from Delver to Twin to Grixis... and i have Bogles when i want to troll people. These matchups arent just bad, like 60%/40%, which i can deal with, its more like 95%/5% bad. I saw this coming months ago when i played a dude who actually was trying to invent the deck, now everyone on the deck are just sheep who were terrible until now.

Suddenly I feel like I'm on Hearthpwn not MTGS with the amount of salt in this post.

The deck folds really hard to aggro. Affinity and Burn are horrible matchups, the deck takes too long to get off properly vs them.

So we are stuck with a Burn, Affinity, and Eldrazi metagame? That isnt a way to beat it, thats a genre of decks that beat it. Cards like Crumble to Dust, for example, is a great tool that a lot of decks can use against Tron, but telling me to switch decks comepletely or hope to avoid the match up is a dead end way of dealing with it.

Without everyone changing decks to aggro or Burn. Which actually still arent great matchups.

    Go.

F this deck and the narrow mindedness of WotC development team. This deck hoses every aspect of playable Magic. Like to play counterspells? You wont win with them against Eldrazi. Like to use your graveyard as a tool? You wont win against Eldrazi. Like creatures? Guess what, their creatures are bigger and better, they get a 4/5 and three 1/1's for next to no mana. Thats seven power on the board, that can also be ramp, for like 3 lands. Like land detruction? Well, this is Modern, so you dont get Wasteland to keep that ***** in check. Want to play spells? They maindeck 5-7 discard spells to make sure you are miserable the entire match.

There are no silver bullet sideboard cards aainst this deck, get ready for a terrible few years of Modern. The biggest anoyance against this piece of sht are the people who play it and act like they are apart of the inventing of it. Go blow yourself.

When, do you think, the guy who got 31st this past weekend would side in the 4 Young Pyromancers? It seems like you arent fooling anyone with this switch...

I think Abbots and the new Stormchaser is where this archetype wants to be. UR Prowess (w/ Delvers) should probably be the name of the deck. I'm excited to try it out, expect it to suck, but will have fun anyways!

Goodbye Bogles, we will mias you.

    Bonds of Mortality

No one will dedicate a sideboard slot for such a narrow card against such a fringe deck. People said the same thing about the Back to Nature reprint.

Oh ok, that makes sense, good luck this weekend. I didnt really state why Spellskite was weird, but my reasoning was 1)People arent really going to be targeting your creatures, so it doesnt help there. 2)It doesnt help in a Skite vs Skite battle too much, unless you want a really large Spellskite that will probably just die to removal, and 3)Game 1 is probably this decks best opportunity to just go all out aggro and get them before they board in the hate.

I'm testing 3 Kor Spiritdancers and 1 Ledgewalker, as opposed to 4 Spiritdancers. The built in evasion is really relevant, but I side Ledgewalker out on the draw, where I think it is too slow. I really lke drawing cards and if you get to untap with a Kor the deck feels bonkers, but I've been ok with 3, so far. This deck is tricky in the mull decisions since you sometimes have to keep 2 Bogles on the draw to fight a Thoughtseize, or you have to aggressively mull into a Leyline post board. Still, it is amazing how often a 5 or 6 card hand gets there if its the right combination.

Anyways, there is a sea of Eldrazi online now, and aggro decks looking to beat it, so Bogle it up while the getting is good. Smile

Hey DB0013, I'm not sure i like the Skite's main, in fact, i'm not sure what Skite is supposed to help with.. How did you do at the tournament?

Modern... Modern is hard lately. I've backed away, a little, from the under-performing brews i've been trying and counter spell decks in general to let this meta settle. Eldrazi are everywhere now and they eat decks like Grixis and Delver alive. Twin has an OK matchup versus Eldrazi, but you need to combo through their kill spells fast enough. So, just add Eldrazi to the list of decks that are well placed versus counter spell decks just like Burn, Zoo, Hatebears, Merfolk, etc. Unfortunately, blue just isnt where you want to be right now, especially with Eldrazi being the new hotness.

So, in the latest MODO league I played, i jammed with Bogles and went 4-1 pretty easily. Going through 2 Eldrazi decks and 2 Abzan, losing only to a very fast Burn deck where i drew no life gain. I feel like Bogles is decently positioned against all the aggro decks (if you draw life gain) and plays unfair enough to be good vs fair decks like Abzan, Jund, and Grixis (if you hit your Leyline to prevent all their discard). It might be good to continue playing this deck while things sort themselves out over the course of the pro tour.

I'll still pick up my Bogles deck from time to time and have really steamlined the sideboard.

4 Leylines of Sanctity (Burn and GBx)
2 Gaddock Teag (Twin, Scapeshift, Eldrazi)
    3 Stony Silence (Tron, Affinity)
3 Rest in Peace (Grixis, Living End, Snapcaster or Goyf decks)
    3 Natures Claim

Everything else seems like it is trying to get too cute. Although, i waver between Teag vs Suppression Field, which i really like in this deck, too. Yes, it hinders your own fetches (but there are only 4 if you dont play Wooded FOothills) and Canopy's, but it also wrecks Twin, 3 color decks who play 9-10 fetches, and sometimes Spellskite.

I love keeping one landers. If I have a blue source + delver or visions I almost always keep.I've won plenty of games on just one or two lands.

I'd be more inclined to mull 4 landers with this deck.

I've shaved down to 3 Monkeys and 3 Thought Scours to add 2 Young Peezy's. I felt very threat light and this adds 1 more creature, in total, in addition to the option of going wide, which helps a ton in the Twin matchup.

Again, i have trouble with Twin and refuse to think it is a good matchup. The last match i played against them without YP, my main threat (a Monkey) got fogged for 4 turns in a row with Exarchs/Mites tapping it down before combat, until they eventually get the combo with Dispel backup for any Simic Charm shenanigans, and this happens on the regular. If you are doing well against Twin do they just never draw the combo or a flash creature? You pretty much are forced to leave up mana unless you just decide to gamble that they dont have it.

Shoal, obviously, is still great with YP, so i still prefer this version over the non-shoal mid-rangey deck.

    Hello!

    Unrrlatednquestion:

Does everyone auto-mulligan one land hands?

Thank you for sharing your opinion.

    Cheers!

No way, this deck, out of all decks, can easily survive one landers. With 10-12 can trips, i absolutely keep one land hands, especially on the draw, if there is a can trip or two. I wouldnt call this deck a gold fish deck, but you need to be aggressive and can get there with 2-3 lands, sometimes.

Now, would i keep a one lander with no can trips? It just all depends, but those i'm more likely to mull.
