After a long break I found out a co-worker plays EDH and has a play group that meets once a month. In the hopes of joining but not playing too mean of deck. I decided I would rebuild Azami. Now I reiterate I haven't played in about two years, so any suggestions of cards would be greatly appreciated, particularity from the newer sets as I do not know the interactions with newer cards. I am not looking to get competitive, mainly have some control, but for the most part be able to dig for answers when needed and have a few win cons.
Rules of the play group, no mass land destruction.
No infinite combos.

As for how do you get the Creature (19) you put them in the text but do not put a number infront of them
Occasionally I just want to play a deck that I can throw down and swing wildly with something that when I feel like I am starting to become a target with in my meta I can play have fun with and still be ok if I lose because I will not be going down without people being low life. Marchesa, the Black Rose offers just that, If I play this I want people to attack me and often the game becomes who has the most life. Ive had opponents deal damage to themselves just to be sure they didnt get hit, thus Marchesa makes all the men do Stupid Things.
Now this deck is a budget deck, I do not mind suggestions but if it is something that I dont feel is really worth putting in I doubt it will make it. I love this deck because it is a great deck that I can play cheap low costing creatures without feeling like I am losing a competitive edge.

Yes it is another Meren Deck, In my play group everyone has a B/G Deck, most of which is helmed by Meren....as I was looking in my binder I found that I actually could build quite the Meren deck myself and I did. With Doubling Season I built the deck to focus on tokens (for sacrifice fodder) and +1/+1 counters to make the creatures to the point of being able to swarm overwhelmingly towards my opponents.
Of Course I welcome suggestions, if you see something and want to know why I use it feel free to ask. Or feel like something would be better in its place.
If I can pull it Teferi will definitely make the list, As I am loving this deck so much I am starting to accept the fact that I want to put more money into the deck. But I do not want to lose the card draw feel. I also enjoy Long-Term Plans, Foil and Forbid. Telepathy is impressive and kind of sad I didnt know about it before

My play group found my old Doran Decklist Doran likes Big Butts and He Cannot Lie. They wanted to see it in action. As I was thinkin about building the old deck I decided I wanted to take a different path. Well the more common path Doran takes with the Defenders. I thought it would be a fun twist for my play group. Thus this deck has been made.
My play group can kind of be competitive as in we like bragging rights....So if we do this concept people will be trying to do what ever they can to win.
My play group and I have been kicking around a concept that would give EDH a little twist. The concept was that when someone got hit for 5 or more damage everyone would get up and change places with a random deck. Your life goes with you, the commander damage stays with the deck. I was curious if anyone had opinions on some rules or opinions on the game concept.
My concern will be that people will be passive and not swing until they can guarantee the kills, or play decks that isnt really designed to do damage. So thats when I thought I would come here and ask if anyone has any ideas to fix that problem.
After playing this deck I have fell in love with it, I love the ability to be able to dig for answers. I ordered and got Laboratory Maniac pretty much after the first game, I found my win con of taking all the creatures with Willbreaker to be to dependent on my opponents playing creatures that can actually finish the game. I wanted another win con and it definitely has been a welcome addition as it has been the way I have won the games that I have.
With that in mind I am in love with the card draw that happens with this deck, and I decided to put alittle more thought into the deck. I added some no max hand size other than Reliquary Tower with Venser's Journal and Thought Vessel. I thought another win con based on card draw would be good also with Psychosis Crawler and then I thought since I will probably be playing this deck more lets get some PW in with Teferi, Temporal Archmage using primarily his first two abilities and Jace, Architect of Thought as a all around good PW for the deck.
Of Course I would absolutely love suggestions to take this deck to the next level. Please any opinion would be great.
This is a deck I have been working on ever since I started playing Commander back in 2012. I have purposely not put cards in other decks, whenever I got a card that I wanted into my Superfriends deck I would put it in a private binder and kept it out of sight so I wouldnt be tempted to use them. I just got a bonus through work and was able to obtain the last three lands I wanted.
After much time I found myself not enjoying my Whelming Wave Deck, using Jalira, Master Polymorphist to cheap out the huge sea creatures of the deep. Some time has passed and I felt the deck growing old and expected, I have always wanted to dabble with a wizard tribal. Most Azami decks I have came across are running expensive cards and I felt like just a plain budgetted tribal could/will be fun. Of course I will take suggestions and opinions are always welcome.
My Decklists consists of a great deal of Johnny Combo Player/Timmy Big Creature Decks where most of the win cons is creatures. Every once and a while I wouldnt mind bringing some spellslinger into the mix. I do have my Nekusar deck but it brings so much hate due to the wheel and deal that the games happen so fast that ether I am wheeling for the win quickly or I am out of the match cause people dont want to die to card draw.
With all that in mind, I decided I would build a spell slinging deck that takes advantage of Mizzix's experience counters. A decent curve that allows me to continue to grow the experience to the point of casting spell after spell. Now I dont play the deck often as I find myself often playing solitaire with this deck and I for one prefer games where everyone is involved. But it does stay together just in case I have that spell slinging itch.
So I am currently the target in my meta, I have built some crude competitive decks and I have started being targeted from the start no matter what deck I build. This has been met by me getting even more cut throat to the point that some of the players have started not wanting to play anymore. Thus I have decided I am going to try Group Hug. All the kids I play with I taught how to play and have been building the play group up to the point that I truly believe any of them can go to a game store and actually play and hold their own. Kind of like a proud dad I dont want to see these guys getting down. It has caused alot of friendships to build with the group and I see it being a part of their lifes. So once and a while we will play group hug.
Here is the list I have going atm, it is designed to let them play whatever their hearts desires, with a bit of resets to keep the game in check. And plenty of card draw to keep their hands full.
I have gotten permission with the group to allow proxies for this deck. Since it will be a group hug I am looking to make the best possible mana base for the deck.
