I'm really surprised Greenwarden of Murasa isn't getting more appreciation on this forum. Den Protector has been very good in my cube and that is often for a 3/2 that regrowths one card. Hell, it was Den Protector (and Exalted Angel) that grabbed my attention enough to add a small morph package of 8 cards to my cube. Here's a 6 drop creature, in a color that was sorely lacking options at that CC, who can bring back two cards at two separate times in the game.
What I love about pure value cards like this one is that as long as you feel you will be able to successfully cast Greenwarden, you can start trading cards one for one knowing you have the inevitability of getting value from those cards again. Use that Hero's Downfall early in the game to deal with a pesky creature then bring it back. Make a trade on the board that gets a creature with an etb effect into your graveyard to use him again. Using your good spells early is often wrong, but not if you going to resurrect them. And by allowing you to pump out those spells early, Greenwarden will be affecting the game positively for you long before he is cast. Sure he isn't a giant beater that green is known for but we have so many of those already.
It seems pretty nice but is it better than running another amazing green 5 drop that you might not be running? I couldn't justify Bellower over Wisperwood Elemental, Kalonian Hydra, or Wolfir Silverheart. I'll have to see where this guy lands.
I don't feel these cards are competing for the same spot as Greenwarden. Although I do feel he would fit into most decks, I feel Greenwarden's real home would be a controllish U/G or B/G deck with lots of powerful spells to recur. Continuing with the recent trend of cards like Evolutionary Leap, I'm glad green is expanding it's role beyond "ramp into big beaters". Big beaters, although fun, don't win too many games without help from strong spells or value cards like this one.
I like this new Kiora. She isn't just some powerful card you would splash for and throw in any deck but in a u/g ramp deck she can do a lot of work. WCS is pretty good as she will often replace herself and soak up some damage. Reminds me of Daretti, Scrap Savant.
The ultimate is actually really good and will end the game really quick
-8: Target player gets an emblem that reads "whenever ANY player draws a card you lose 2 life"
I really like this new Ob and will definitely be including him into my cube. I can easily see him being a two for zero. Kill, draw, kill. Having the 5 loyalty instead of the 4 is really important when considering the rest of his stats.
I'm really thinking about cutting hero's downfall for this. Instant speed IS really good, don't get me wrong, but the 4/4 kicker ability might be better.
Although I like this card I like Hero's Downfall more. Having that extra turn to make your decision is a huge advantage. As well you have the surprise factor for the possible two for one or any other strategies where instant speed is useful.
I like Ruinous Path and will play it, but I don't think it will make it's way into 360 cubes unless the walker kill is sorely needed.
I don't think very many people here are complaining about Ulamog, rather just voicing that he is a very powerful creature that may our may not fit well into ones cube. Personally, I love his versatility. Since I stopped capping the power level of my cube I welcome as many uber-crazy spells and creatures as possible. I can't wait to see some of the shenanigans Ulamog 2.0 will create.
Quick rules question. If you clone Ulamog do you get the double vindicate?
I really like this card. Hard removal with upside sounds great for any limited format. I can't picture many decks outside of hard aggro that don't want to play this card.
The fact that this guy can be reanimated is ridiculous. Ulamog no longer goes into just a ramp deck but a reanimation deck as well, making it much more cubeable than his old self on that merit alone. Add in that he's a one hit kill and sneak attack decks are also drooling at the bit. Even if you hard cast him, 10 mana seems reasonable for this effect.
If your not worried about OP plays, this guy is an auto include.
Your multicolor section looks fine to me. 5 non-land guild cards shouldn't be too many but if you find a lot of them wheeling during the draft maybe drop the number but you have good fixing so i dint see it being an issue. A lot of people on this forum push monocolor so it really all has to do with what you enjoy.
Looking at your list as a whole, that is a very strong first cube list. Enjoy playing with it! As you play more drafts try to take notice of cards that are underperforming or keep getting passed over and move them out when you acquire new cards. Also ask for suggestions from your playgroup of archetypes and cards they like to play too.
Oh and kird ape is definitely a Gruul card. Would you ever pay it in a deck with no green?
With all the 2cc 3 power dudes in red I don't even think a 3/3 is good enough unless it had haste. I would want a 4/2 for that type of drawback on a two drop.
Oh, and Abyssal Persecutor is a great cube card imho.
