And I saw the first box topper up for sale...

    Goryo's Vengeance

    Asking $250

    I think that's nuts.

    More Coming In...

    Demonic Tutor for $300

    Demonic Tutor for $285

    Balefire Dragon for $115 lol

    Unopened one for $500

Man, some people are going to be pissed in a month when these things aren't near worth that.

DO NOT BUY sealed box toppers. They are SEARCHABLE.

I think this card is the new best red 2 drop (yes, I’m putting it above Pyromancer and Kari Zev).

Got to play it today and it was absolutely nuts. Gets in beats early, pairs with bolts to take out larger threats late, and pressured your opponents mana (and Ugins).

I added it in and got to see it play a few rounds over the course of two separate drafts, and although it was a better than I expected, I still wouldn't consider it a 360 staple (probably a 450-540 staple). And it isn't even remotely close to the best red 2 drop imo, I could name a handful of 2 drops I'd pick over it in my red aggro or midrange decks. It's a solid all-around card, and can occasionally do something especially silly, but in like 50% of games it's literally just a bear that gets brick-walled by an opponent's 2 or 3 drop after a single attack.
I understand picking more aggressive creatures over cratermaker when that's what you want but what red two-drop would you rather have if you're playing midrange? I can see this being brick walled from attacking but I can't ever picture cratermaker not having an impact on a game that it's in play. There's just too many artifacts and creatures with <3 toughness running around.

Unfortunately you can only activate the ability at sorcery speed. If it was instant I would probably try it.

Besides regular red burn, Tajic is good protection against earthquake variants and walking ballista. I wish this was a mono-red card but if this is what we get I'll try it out over boros charm and take it from there.

I really wanted a red three drop with haste and mentor but it arrived with white in its casting cost. Is this non-evasive 3/2 good enough for people's Boros sections?

This card looks good for green agro decks. Grows into a one mana 2/2 as early as turn two and can easily become a formidable foe with that enter and death trigger. Cool with instant speed sac outlets.

As an aggro curve topper I think I like insult// injury more. It gets in the same 4 damage but also takes out a creature and will often kill your opponent on the spot. This will never finish the job. Punisher mechanics are just too punishing in Cube.

Seems a lot worse that Dictate of Heliod to me.

The dictate makes my 1/1s into 3/3 instead of angels, sure, but it also:

-Affects tokens created before the enchantment hit.
    -Affects non-token creatures.
-Has flash and can be used as a pretty disgusting combat trick sometimes.
Good comparison. I like Dictate quite a bit and cubed with it for a long while and it actually performed quite well. I was sad to cut it but white 5's are one of, if notthe, tightest spot in my Cube.

If you're calling this a black card isn't Night's Whisper just better. I'm not a fan of the Dispersal side because you don't get to choose your target and that's way too risky in a format with so many great etb effects.

My trostani edh deck is going to enjoy Divine Visitation. Oh yes. Yes indeed. * Rubs hands together and glares menacingly

It's true that this is not the 5 drop you want to cast when you're far behind. He's only one body, has no etb effect and his ability uses life as a resource. So build your deck knowing that this guy is weak to aggro and be prepared to combat quick decks with other tools. Not every card is good in every situation.

Now, if you're not losing horribly and you're able to untap with him, Doom Whisperer is able to control you're graveyard and draws, as well as probably being the biggest boy on the battlefield. 5 mana is not that huge an investment for such massive upside.

Yes but red is the most common aggressive color and it has a hard time killing him.

Golgari is getting better small unique creatures and fat creatures...
I think that 6/6 demon for 5 very much disagrees
Golgari can cast the demon and its surveil ability works great with undergrowth. The demon has his hands in many pies.

Adding another "reclamation sage' ability to my cube also opens up a mono-green spot which is cool. Wickerborough Elder could probably be safely cut now for a different type of card.

Edit* I've played too many of this type of effect before and it just made playing artifacts a negative which I don't want happening too often.

Just being able to manipulate your library and graveyard to this extent is so powerful in Cube. Oh yeah, it's also a 6/6 flying trample win condition.
