Splash red for ancient grudge and temur battle rage if you fear chalice? Not too much eldrazi around here so im not too concerned. Even if there was, 8 slots seems like a lot to dedicate in a non pt meta.
Im going run a fairly stock list tomorrow but geared more towards beating this new aggro meta. 3 maindeck
supreme verdicts, 2 isochron scepter, 1 jace aot. There is
nothing more satisfying than landing a scepter with path to exile imprinted against aggro. Game 2 I just side it out for anger of the gods or pyroclasm and let the artifact hate clog up their hand.
I am a father of four and I'm raising all of my children Catholic. Look at it like another way of teaching self respect, discipline, and respect for others.
I think the notion that it's abusive is funny, since most kids do the exact OPPOSITE of what their parents say anyway!
Pulse of the Fields would simply buy you time if you had a Wall of Shards or two in play. Your opponent is gaining tons of life while you find your combo, so pulse+wall buys time against fair decks.
It seems like you need a few cheaper creatures and/or acceleration. If you don't draw scout, the first creature you cast isn't coming down until turn 3 or 4, depending on your lands (lots of citp tapped). Maybe Voice of Resurgence, Elvish Mystic, or Sylvan Caryatids?
Seems like Nessians Wilds Ravager could be good in the mirror. It trumps all of the standard RG creatures, kills them if tribute isn't paid with the fight ETB trigger, or becomes a 12/12 nightmare.
I'd say maindecking lifebane and ultimate price are a good choice right now. Anytime a powerhouse like lifebane is good in more than 50 percent of your game 1 matchups, it is a going to be a huge advantage.
I've found Isochron Scepter to be an extremely powerful card in this deck. An unanswered imprinted Remand, Lightning Helix, or Path to Exile is just bonkers. I ran them in lieu of Snapcasters in a very similar version of the deck that won the PT last weekend.
Aggro is heavily played in a lot of circles, which is hard on Ashiok. Secondly, there's a big chance of totally blanking on the +2 ability , in which case Ashiok has done nothing. That's my opinion.
As far as new cards go, Mono black seems to like bile blight and drown in sorrow. Not surpising. Kiora has popped up in maze's end and a bant control deck also featuring Brimaz. Brad Nelson was playing the new red Satyr and searing blaze.

3 months before the card rotates out of standard is the short answer.
