Will any popular topics be moved over or does every discussion need to start over from scratch? There is some useful information in past discussions that I make decisions on when building EDH decks.

every single post will be ported over just as they were here now (keep in mind the import on the beta is ~ a month old atm)

Is there a way to hide avatars/sigs? Some of them are very distracting, and I'd much rather just read what people are saying in their comments.

    It's on the list Grin

    Odd issue in forum browsing.

If you have a subforum minimised it stays that way even if you click the link to open it up. What you end up with is an empty looking forum category with the minimise icon tucked half under the tools options.

    now that is funky. Added

I posted these things on the current forums, but I figured (was instructed by Galspanic) that I should post them here as well:

If I'm going to be frank, I hate the Beta from trying to use it so far. My primer layout is pretty messed up, as is my sig, and about 100 of my posts have gone missing. It is lacking a lot of functions that I like to use, like being able to sort threads by replies or views, and the search function is much more of a pain to use in my opinion. I had somewhat of a hard time locating threads that I usually have no problem finding here, and I'm also not at all a fan of the aesthetic appearance of the beta. Overall I think it's a significant step in the wrong direction. I have been a member of a couple other forums in the past that have changed their appearance / layout / functionality, and on those occasions, the changes have caused my participation in those forums to decline and / or cease completely.

So another thing I noticed on the Beta is that having boxes doesn't work, like the ones for quotes. It makes my primer look really ugly rather than all pretty like on here. Also the deck tags look really awful on the Beta. They take up way too much room and having everything centered in those cavernous boxes of empty space looks horrible. Also my two decklists show up one on top of the other instead of side by side.

Also, the guild symbol smilies don't seem to be working, and I couldn't get my sig banner to show up.

can you please link both versions of your primer (the beta version and the live version) so I can take a look

@cryogen already made a note of your primer format issues

I just reported a post in the sub forum I mod in. I did not receive PM notification of the reported post, and there was no "custom" button among the options in the drop down box, as none of the options pertained to what I wanted to report.

You don't get PMs when you report someone - it is now all taken care of in the report center - so you can keep infractions and your PM chats unqiue - Also the report options are just thing the admins will fill out (not so much a beta thing) as they just need to make up a big old list and fill and add them

    Hey Curse pals,

I just need to know, even if it's a low priority - are we going to be getting the ability to use animated avatars back, at all? It's a huge thing as we've been doing them for years in the community (even with our old 50kb size limit). I need to know so I can let people know whom I make avatars for that they have to reconsider their request.

    Thanks!

I want Animated gifs too! (a lot of people don't like them, which is why cobalt I think dosnt have them now) The main issue is when we take avatars to upload, we currently cant accept gif's Will def at it to the list of wants.

Color tags seem to have some weird issues with lists:

    • Blah blah
    • Blah blah: blah blah
      blah blah: blah blah

all three lines should have the color, but only the first one shows it.

Silly bbcdoe - will add to the list

It would be helpful and informative if the Price section of the card database had links to where the data is gathered from, like a high/low list or anything that tells you why the price is what is calculated on the screen.

it does, if you click "buy on tcgplayers"

thats where the api is pulled from

    Buy on TCGPlayers
    Price (from TCGPlayer)

Some staff have the tag:Forum Specific Moderatorwhile others have:StaffWhy the split? I thought it was upper and lower staff at first but thats not even the case.

That is just a vanity title, any mtgs admin can change those - so an easy fix at any time its just using defualts atm
