Solution: When they created the MTGS Beta site, they copied over your password at the time. Any password changes you made after December 2013(?) weren't carried over.

This causes a security problem: Anyone who didn't complain about this hasn't changed their password in forever (a big security risk), and anyone who has complained now has their old password back in place!

thats not the issue here at all.

    I see the issue.

You already had a curse account, and the account was merged into it. You need to use the password tied to your curse account. It looks like you had one due to the site marriland

You should also be able to reset your password if you can't remember what password you used

Why is URL code still adding to the sig max length? (now 2000 characters)

bbcode still counts. the limit is being removed. the 2000 is just a temp thing

Well I guess this is the last post im making here. The new curse site is just terrible. From the piles of ads for other games curse forced onto these forums, to there only being the single color scheme, it just feels intrusive. Top it off with teemo at the bottom of every page and it just makes this place not feel right anymore.

Im off to find a pure magic forum, curse can shove it.

please read the FAQ thats found at the very top of the forum, or on the front page for information on how to change color themes

You simply use the email you used on the old site, and the same password to login here. it will work.

The only way it wont work is if you changed the email on the old site somewhat recently. In which case use the previous email.

If you PM me the account and email I can take a look

While the loss of PPP control is annoying, I can see the technical logic to it, though I'd like something higher than we have now.

The biggest complaint is the way notifications work now. On the old site:

    a) they showed me a transcript of the post I was being notified about, which was nice, if it was something I was being asked directly or was able to weigh in on, I could read the email, see that and open the page, if not, I could leave it until later or just ignore it. The new one however just says "<user> posted to the forum thread <thread>. <time>" which isn't helpful.

however, b) is much more of an issue - specifically that on the old system, I would get 1 notification about a new post to a thread and wouldn't get another until I'd been on MTGS. I subscribed to the modern Melira Pod thread about 6 hours ago. I've had 12 notification emails since then and the timestamps on them are like 2 minutes apart. I don't mind getting an immediate notification that a thread has new content, in fact I prefer that, but when I get an email from the same thread at 20:06, 20:08, 20:12, 20:20, 20:21, its too much. And considering the option to remove our control of posts per page was taken for reasons of server load, I can't see how sending what will probably amount to hundreds of emails a minute will ease server load vs the old single "this thread has new content" email.

go to your profile settings, thats an option to combine them all to daily emails instead.

That's great, but why wasn't this issue identified during your extensive beta testing? Will you be checking to see if the "way" this issue was overlooked for MSC might cause problems in the future elsewhere?

no it wont effect anything else down the road - and the issue wasnt something that could be found during beta.

Lonin/Molster: I know you've said that PPP is now determined in each forum, but is there a reason it cannot be a user setting?

Server Performance. We cache all pages to make performance faster. If every user had their own ppp or tpp, then no pages could be cached.

Hi there, I think you've missed my post about the itrader issue?

sorry that was answered in a few other places ( thought this was one of them)

Its being fixed so that old neut feedback will not hurt. Going forward (as requested by the admins) neut will start to hurt

So that older neut will be retrospectivly fixed, whilst new ones will hurt?

    correct

About the iTrader, Neutral feedback shouldn't count towards percentage, but it does in this version.

Things I really miss that may have been mentioned already:
    • Thread URLs that aren't eight miles long and don't turn to alphabet soup when I quote a post. Karona forbid you quote a post with a quote in it!
    • An option to hide signatures. They're often huge and some people just don't care for them.
    • Not being reminded that the link I just clicked isn't on mtgs. An option to turn this off would be gr8.
    • 60ppp. My scrolling finger is starting to atrophy already.
    • vBulletin 3 style. Traditional avatar-on-the-left posts take up a lot of vertical space. The more posts I can fit on my screen at once, the happier I am.
    • A users currently viewing the thread list. This is useful as a moderator so I can snoop on delinquents, but also in general so you know when your pals are lurking about.
    • The ability to right-click > save avatars. This seems dumb but it's pretty useful for when I accidentally delete mine, or for editing somebody else's in the ye olde sigge shoppe.
    • Far less lag. Be a Nimble Mongoose, not a Slumbering Dragon.
    Good Things:
    • Saving old avatars for easy switching. Can we get the same thing for signatures? Is there a limit to this? Very exciting.
    • It's pretty!

    Sig Hidding is coming
that system is for security. It can be disabled by the admins however.
the PPP is set by admins per forum. Send them a PM about where you might want more
Users currently viewing is a maybe - its something being looked at
If you right click and "inspect element" you can get the pic from there
Servers are showing an avg 30ms page responce. What issues are you having atm?

    can you provide a screenshot

if you chose a Dark forum skin it's almost impossible to tell where the post ends and the signature begins. Line separating those should be white.

Also: we are forced to use 25 posts per page. Bring back the other options, I really need this 50ppp.

This will not be a per user option. If there is a forum where you want it increased, please PM an admin and they can do so

The dark theme I have added to the doc

I quoted a post with a deck list in it. Then when I went to edit that post, all the card names disappeared but the numbers remained.

I seem to have all my mod powers but no posting privileges over here.

Glad to see all the old links haven't been broken but I'm sad to see the move to a word-based instead of numerical system for the urls. They're clunky and there's no obvious way to use them. On the old forum I could link to specific post and alter the url to 'showpost' in order to have only that post show up or 'showthread' if the posts around it were in any way important. It seems like the 'showpost' version just doesn't exist anymore. (I also don't like that clicking on the post number brings up a box with a url. Almost anyone who uses the internet knows how to copy a link without this kind of hand holding.)

EDIT: I tried to merge some threads and got an error message. The old threads now redirect to the target, which shows the correct number of posts. However the new thread only contains its original posts and none of the supposedly merged ones. Would appreciate some help in restoring these.

added to doc about the merging - can you please provide a link?

Why oh why was my feedback post deleted? No mention of who or why, just deleted.

Good ole salvation, always managing to lower the bar eh

I see no deleted feedback posts.

Only thing that's irking me about the forum change is going down to 25ppp, from 60ppp. Irritates me a little when I'm a mod in a tournament, although I don't have to worry about that part for much longer.

please contact the admins. They can up it per forum

    Quote from Taeolas
I can't remember if I put this in an older feedback thread or not, but someone earlier mentioned the ability to hide signatures. I want to second that.

I also would love the ability to hide avatars as well.

Personally, I'm a very text-based person, and I like simple boards that are just the topic at hand, not cluttered up with sigs and avatars and other non-thread related noise, so I turn those off as much as I can when I can.

Avatar hidding is coming (same with sigs)

    Quote from Shodai
All these super long quote chains need to be disabled. Have the quote button only take the post you are actually quoting, not everything that post it quoting too.

Quote chains are not something we are looking to disable. However Ill add it to the doc for a disccustion

    Quote from scotti_badass
whoa. I didn't even see this thread, and probably 1/2 of what is here in this subsection until after I posted in another thread about sig problems.

    so I guess that's issue #1.

#2, is what I posted already in that thread.
I'm having the problem of the formatting not saving at all unless it's the crap like i got right now. I figured the character limit was drastically cut, which seems rather ridiculous, but I'm just wanting to be able to save what I put in.

Oh, and there is no Font button to change the font in the Sig editor either.

Is there any chance to have our character limit back to what it was?

Also, I don't see a line break for Sigs on the dark skin either.
    That's all I've found.

    Sig limits are being changed.

Perhaps this was due to being on a phone, but when I replied to a specific post in a thread it did not auto-quote the post I was replying to.

You need to quick "quote" to quote. reply will just reply
