There are some totally random cards in this deck (looking at you, decree of savagery and... uh, desert? Really?) but it seems okay for the most part. The Boardwipe that hits artifacts and enchantments is nice and I'd probably put the chaos dragon in my tribal dragon deck so we have an actual low-drop.
Desert is actually the perfect card for this commander. You use it on Vrondiss when he attacks. Yeah, those sneaky designers. Also wow Shivan Hellkite actually does look kind of useful with this commander.
Like, there's so many dragons to choose from did we really need the changelings? Still, looks really fun out of the box and it introduces a couple of lower costing dragons to the mix which might actually be helpful to other popular dragon commanders such as Lathliss, Dragon Queen and of course The Ur-Dragon
Art on that GR dragon is sweet though. Effect is good too, like another Savage Ventmaw. Wish other tribes had even one of such cards
That is the best thing about dragons being a fan favorite tribe that also happens to be an utterly garbage tier tribe. They can just get away with the silliest effects and support because we're still trying to get something out of multiplying by zero.
Ok if that is Klauth I'd say as a character he's totally Red/Blue/Black, not Red/Green but hey whatever gets him in a precon. Yeah definitely gotta try a Gruul dragons build now because wow Savage Ventmaw on absolute crack.
This one is kind of a big difference from Shivan. I don't remember Shivan Dragon being uncounterable or having haste. In fact I remember kid me getting my Shivan countered all the time which is why I switched to black to make everyone discard their counterspells. And everything else in their hand! > : (
A white dragon is an ice dragon, and a blue dragon is a lightning dragon, but I guess assigning them to the correct color of Magic would cause some confusion, eh? (White dragons produce ice, but actually have more of a green attitude, actually.)
Or actually red since that color also has large predatory animals and ice used to actually be a red thing. It can be argued that all of them except for the Green and Black dragons probably would be Red (The Green and Black dragons would be Black) but it would be kinda silly to have a Red creature named Blue Dragon.
In all fairness the design for Blue-Eyes White Dragon was actually lifted from the 2E AD&D White Dragon design. Bahamut is...a weird planeswalker to say the least. White Dragon is just as good of a draft pick as the other chromatic dragons in this set.
In Westgate died and raised
On the draft table is where I spent most of my days
Chillin' out, maxin', attackin' all cool
And all bein' a 2 for 1 to spot remove
Meh. So the dragon dies when their 1/1 chump blocks it? Should have at least lived until it does combat damage to a player.
It's literally designed to be a nonbo with Dragon Tempest. Otherwise, you just need something like Heroic Intervention to give Vrondiss indestructible and you can just point all the tempest triggers at him to keep making tokens.
Just as I thought. Draconic Rage is not a dragon tribal deck at all, but an Enrage deck. Sigh, was hoping for another dragon that supports other dragons to slot in The Ur-Dragon.

and Dragon Tyrant wasn't basically Shivan Dragon on absolute crack?
Pretty sure he's been doing that for more than a decade lol
