Planeswalkers have very short lifespans in multiplayer games so I prefer the ones that make a good immediate impact from the get-go rather than the ones where you uptick with small effects and pray for a chance to use that last ability. Thus I consider this version of Chandra to be pretty solid.

I will laugh so hard if Bolas is thwarted when he thought victory was at hand only for Fblthp to suddenly ignite its spark that it somehow had, resulting in an explosion that takes out the Immortal Sun and the Eternals. Like, that's why Chandra is so troubled in the comic she's just still trying to piece together as to what the heck any of that even was.

It's a solid dork but I just feel people are doing it wrong when they're not using The Dark's version.

If the Gatewatch falters and the Planeswalkers fail, the curtain will fall on the age of heroes—and rise on the infinite reign of Nicol Bolas."

And this here is exactly why Bolas can't possibly win, or the rest of Magic will just be a series of postcard sets called 'Bolas visits Ixalan', 'Bolas visits Innistrad', 'Bolas visits Kaladesh' etc., each featuring a PW card called 'Bolas - God of [plane]', with art depicting him laughing maniacly against an assortment of backgrounds. Grin

Not gonna lie I'd buy the heck out of "Bolas Visits Ixlan". That set would've been a lot more interesting if its cards featured Nicol Bolas shopping around, sunbathing at a Rootbound Crag, having a good time with how much smaller the dinosaurs are than him.

I like to think Jace is just holding this card and the Gerrard Capashen card while smirking. "Heh, these were supposed to represent the original face of Magic the Gathering huh?"

    Dramatic Reversal

I've only ever seen this card do nothing or end the game immediately.

You know, the funny thing is I think this card really encapsulates most of everything that went wrong with Kaladesh. Like, we have the Not Avengers getting ready to fight the Not Empire, it goes broken with artifacts, it tries to be sneaky about its brokenness ("Oh what's the worst that this cheap common can do-wait what, seriously?"), and we have Ajani sitting in the back making strange faces at us until he brute forces his way into our nightmares.

Yeah I evaluated yesterday's card because I had a lot more to say about that than I did today's card. Like, all I can think of for Widespread Panic is that it's a straight to home video sequel to Stranglehold.

I also just want to add most of the time MLD has been used just to answer my ramping, I would recover faster than everyone else and be at the advantage again. MLD is a piece of your answer, not THE answer. You need to make surethe ramp player isn't already far ahead on the frontlines and you also have pressure of your own to go with it to take out the ramp player (and everyone else ideally) while they're rebuilding.

My general principal for my build is to be very careful about running any sort of ramp that costs more than 3 mana and even then the vast majority should cost 2 at most. A good chunk of the deck is going to be 6+ drops so you kinda need to keep the curve for the rest of the deck as low as you can. The only exception I keep in my deck is Oracle of Mul Daya because she forms some good engines with my Crucible of Worlds, fetches, and Haven of the Spirit Dragon package.

From my point of view, Magic the Gathering is basically a horribly broken, badly designed fighting game that's still a blast to play at restrained levels like X-Men vs Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat Armageddon. However, when an opponent takes advantage of the broken mechanics these games have to offer it's my fault for even playing the game in the first place so I can't truly be mad.

The rest of my table though can be mad and will just ask the offending gamebreaker to leave us be so yeah none of us in my established group run infinites.

Many a green/black/ both mage must miss the days when Wizards of the Coast didn't realize that non-tap, mana-free sacrifice activated abilities were a terrible mistake...

I would like to see them complete too because I feel part of the reason I am lukewarm towards cycles and tangos is because having only allied versions of them triggers my OCD whenever I make a 3+ color deck. Which is almost all the decks I make. No, you can't tell me I can have Red-Green, Black-Green, and Green-Red shocks but only Black-Red and Green-Red not shocks in a Jund deck! That's messed up man D:

I would rank Dragonlord Kolaghan far above Urabrask. Her dragon typing allows her to function as a dragon beater, dragon support, and a recipient of dragon support (dragon discounters, Patriarch's Bidding, triggering Lathliss, Dragon Queen etc.) all at once. Urabrask is actually kinda garbage in the Ur-Dragon. Its additional upside of hindering your opponents a little is not worth being an otherwise non-synergistic fatty in an already top-heavy deck.

    My rank is
    Dragon Tempest
    Lightning Greaves
    Temur Ascendancy
    Dragonlord Kolaghan
    Rhythm of the Wild
    Dragon Breath
    The rest.

Though I do need to try to see if I can slot in Rhythm of the Wild to try it. If there's one thing that's a pain in the butt about 5 color decks, it's that the 99 cards issue really haunts you when you can run basically anything you want...

Glass is overcosted even as a mana rock and a draw engine at the same time.
Skarrgan Hellkite is a standard finisher with little to no application for EDH.

Smothering Tithe might be the closest thing to a possible inclusion to me from this set.

I love the Kamigawa block myself. It's interesting how many cards from the "wind down from Mirrodin" block actually turned out to be pretty effective in hindsight.

As a commander though, he kinda wishes he had more colors than just green. He's certainly cool with being in the 99 though.
