Thank you, Sir. I do plan to have a lot of fun with my cube and as I've said I plan to only use the cards I currently have. This shouldn't be a problem as I have plenty to choose from. I just need to go through them all and start putting it together.
Haha I'm just messing I don't care gives my thread more viability
Also, having looked through some more of the cards suggested for Cubes I don't know that I have a lot of them but they have given me a good idea of what I need to look for. I will start looking at other peoples cubes and see what they have put together.
Interesting mini-cube drafting idea. I may do that with my buddy to test things out. After having talked to my friend and hearing you guys say that I should have only one of each card it makes sense to me. I want replay-ability with greater variance in the decks that can be made. So I will limit myself to one of each card as well. I am going through the power rankings for Pauper/Peasant decks as well as Pauper Cube eval to get a good idea of what cards I want.
I have started to put together a document to track which cards I will have in my cube. Once I have something more refined I will post it up here for more critiques.
Thank you both for your input. I haven't looked to closely at the other cubes here yet. I plan to do that when I have a chance.
It seems interesting that most cubes would only run one of each card. This seems like just a slightly larger EDH deck then drafting 40 card decks from that. Is it harder to balance the colors when you run multiple copies of a card? It sounds like a lot of the more basic cards are unplayable.
Another one of my goals for this cube is to hopefully have a quick and simpler draft so as not to take all day.
I have started to put together a Cube and would like to get input on how bad it is and how to make it better
My idea so far is to use many of the old cards that I have and love and a good mix of new cards with a shadow theme throughout. I'd like to have a good mix of enchantments and enchantment destruction for each color. Though Black and Red may be short in the enchantment destruction area but make up for it in creature destruction / burn.
Also, I was wondering how many copies of a card is good to run. I understand it depends on the card but I was thinking of having plenty of copies of the base cards of each color (ie. 4-6x Giant Growth, Unsummon, Healing Salve, Lightning Bolt, Raise Dead)
I will leave out Gold/Hybrid cards for now until I have a good base color sets.
Here is a basic list of some of the core cards I am starting with my Cube, I may or may not want to include fliers into the mix if that doesn't complicate things too much and then green could use Whip Silk which fits green's theme of all or none for enchantments.
Was thinking of putting a few Pyroclasm in as well.
Assorted Burn
Assorted Goblins
As you can see red is the least complete of all the colors. Partly because it is and partly because I can't remember the all cards I have set aside for red.
Lol'd
