I know it has probably been written that many times but I cant seem to find it. Ooze vs Snap and getting the timing right seems pretty key. Scenario: your opponent casts Snap with Terminate in their GY and you have an Ooze on board with Green mana. Snap resolves, the ETB goes on the stack at which time they need to target a spell giving it Flashback, correct? This should give you a chance to respond and eat the "Terminate" before it actually gets Flashback, correct as you are responding to Snaps ETB?
Only reason I ask again as this happened to me on Monday and my opponent was adamant he could Terminate my Scooze in response to the Scooze ability, even though I explained myself. I let it happen because I couldn't be bothered and the Judge was busy.
I ended up going 2-2 last night. I beat Elves 2-1 after losing the first match. I lost to Burn 0-2, first game stuck on 2 lands and second game put up a fight but just couldn't get there, pretty sad I lost that one to be honest. I beat Siesmic Swans 2-0 after having no idea what is was and then went down 0-2 to a Red/Blue Tron deck...ouch...Ugin's, Karns...was also running Through the Breach and all kinds of things. Kinda made me wish I kept with the Ramunap Excavator / Ghost Quarter plan, which I honestly may consider for next time.
Going to try something a little different this weekend and try and see how far I can push Tracker and get some value of those Lili land discards with Excavator. I'll report back and let you know how I go. Also, when the rules change for PW's I am going to run a copy of Liliana, the Last Hope in place of Claim//Fame and see. My local isn't too crazy, a fair few brews so I should be in good company. I am getting rid of Bolt as I have found it to be super low impact.

I had already naturally moved into an Esper build of Spirits as I love Lingering Souls too much. I'll post my list up soon but it basically just adds some Fatal Push, Thoughtseize along for the ride but now I see a Sorin, Solemn Visitor in I am totally down for the ride and will dabble with some Supernatural Stamina for sure.
I have had him in since the start and have always found him to be a flexible one drop that goes into Reanimator and Tokens or even just as a value midrange guy. He cant be left alone either. I don't support a very aggressive Black deck nor do I have a Zombies theme, even still, I love this card.
Apologies, I probably should have posted what I have sleeved up currently and I also didnt realise that was a Chandra Pyro, weird. 100% agree it will be a meta call and I have no take on what it is, I just want to bring along a fairly standard build and go from there, except I do have a Hazoret and Glorybringer in but not entirely happy with only 2 Scavenging Ooze mainboard. Thoughts, ideas, your expertise, all greatly appreciated. I am here to learn.
I am big time lurker (sounded less creepy in my head) here in the Jund forum. A current dining room table scrub with a Cube and a dream. That dream was to start playing Magic outside of my house. Never been a huge Standard fan and looked to a format with no rotation without the expense of dual lands, so here I am. The deck choice was never an option, I have always loved Jund and whether it was the best or the worst deck, I was building it. I'll be taking it to a local shop in the next few weeks and I already know the answer to this question is going to be very meta dependant, but what is everyone thoughts on the most vanilla Jund build I can take to the first event before I tweak it to the local meta. Vanilla perhaps isnt the best term and maybe there isnt even a good answer to this. I saw this on Goldfish today and it looked, interesting. Sideboard was pretty ecletic but not unusual. I have been following the chatter on Hazoret and Glorybringer and decided to test one of each or atleast try to fit them. The discussions, overviews and primers have been very helpful for a new player such a myself. You have added another midrange monster to the fold.
(Example from Goldfish)
4 Dark Confidant
2 Fulminator Mage
2 Huntmaster of the Fells
2 Scavenging Ooze
4 Tarmogoyf
Thanks for that @Axman. Another quick question. Is it reasonable to expect Blooming Marsh to see more play in Jund as time goes on or are 3-4 Blackcleave Cliffs just 'industry standard'?
Nice! I am a new Jund deck owner, never played before but just pieced it all together. How did the 4 Bolts go? I just built mine with 4 Pushes and 2 Bolts. What was the sideboard like against Burn? I am assuming I am going to be facing a fair bit of Burn when I finally take the deck out so keen to hear your thoughts!
I have never played competitively but recently became interested in Modern. After looking through most of the T1/T2 decks I decided on putting together the original flavour of Jund mainly because of Liliana of the Veil. It was the first Walker I saw when I got back in Magic just after ISD came out. Also, I wont get to play much in the physical and I feel like I can have a good 75 sleeved up and the deck should be pretty consistent and seems fairly well positioned in most meta's.
I don't buy into the 'dies to removal' assessment of creatures and I think the Flash on this guy will be heaps of fun. Timing your run and perhaps coaxing your opponent (who obviously has a grip full of 1 and 2 mana removal spells) to perhaps tap out for some reason and dropping this EOT into something else seems great.
Don't know if I will play it myself but think this card is awesome.
How do people support Upheaval in their Cubes? How often is it drafted and what do the decks end up looking like and how successful are they? Same goes for Wildfire I guess. I have tried these a few times without any luck, keen to see if I am missing something.

Ahhh! Ok, thanks for the clarification!
fwiw I love this card and will be testing it for sure.
