So does this mean all colors are getting this very Abzan-y mechanic,
or are we getting five *new* clan mechanics?
The first seems silly and the second excessive-
maybe some clans get new mechanics and some keep the previous ones
(ie- a mix of mechanics from KTK and DTK)?
I feel like it's gonna be less "new clan mechanics" and more Clans v. Dragons mechanics, given that they didn't really "Divide" until the dragons died off.
Maybe two a piece. So Bolster and something else, probably Prowess related, and the dragons will get Raid and Ferocious related mechanics.
Delve seems Rakshasa related, so if they never get a chance to put their claws into the Sultai, that may not come to pass.
On the other hand, as Anafenza rose through the ranks to become Khan eventually, I would think news would have reached Oret in one way or another. If Oret betrayed his family, he should have stayed away.
That's the beauty of it.
He had no choice. The family leaders all have to show up to give allegiance to the new Khan.
With all the talk going around of "Narset being a Planeswalker," and the whole "Ugin's Fate" booster changing some things, but not others, it makes me curious how much is going to change with the return of the dragons.
Who knows? Maybe we will see versions of these khans in the new world. Maybe not as legendary creatures. Maybe not even in cards.
But we may still get a glimpse of them in the Uncharted Realms that follow.
On a more related note: Today's UC was excellent. Continues to cement my love for Abzan.

There. Everything that depicts or mentions the appearance of Chad.
Now can we stop fighting over this absolutely pointless nonsense?
It's a freakin' toy. It's cute. And we shouldn't feel the need to argue what race Chad, the inter-dimensional, world-hopping, fist-fighter is, because it doesn't matter.
I wonder if Maro's going to try playing up the "Mono-colored" Aspect of Hybrid for Dragons of Tarkir, thus getting away with saying "It's not a Multicolor Set! These are technically also monocolor!"
I mean, I doubt we'll get wedge hybrids, as that's not terribly grokable on the CMC, and apparently Alara Reborn and it's solid gold theme didn't work too well, but with Yasova, I can't help but wonder if that's how they're getting around it. "You can morph it, because the mana cost is restrictive otherwise! 5 White, or 3 then 3 White!" Or something like that.
The real world example was more about the introduction of non-native species with no natural predators (In Tarkir, dependent on whether or not the clans would want to hunt dragons at this point), and the general results of that, but your point still stands, and my reasoning was flawed.
I still think the plane is suffering without the dragons though.
Something to note:
Yes, we perceive the dragons returning as a bad thing, but Tarkir, as a plane, is dying without them. The dragons were, in essence, a part of the big circle of life for the plane, and removing them lead to a long slow decline. The Khans and their clans are all stagnant, fighting over the same territory day in and day out in so frequent a manner that they never advance. It's a never ending struggle against too many forces. I can't even begin to claim an understanding of the ecosystem of a world where dragons come out of storms, but it's probably fair to say that their death was a bad thing.
Additionally, even if he could bring dragons from a different plane, say, Jund for example, it would not be a good idea. The planes are vastly different places with different ecosystems. If the dragons even survived this foreign land, or even worse, adapted, they'd likely end up parasites. Like rabbits in Australia. Giant, scaly, fire breathing rabbits. With sharp pointy teeth.
Tokens can be turned face down.
Someone asked MaRo here.
Unfortunately, while a good source, MaRo is not known for being 100% accurate in the category of "Rules Functioning." There's a reason he frequently starts his posts with "Not a developer."
And today's Friday, so unless he called in to check, this assumption is goin' off of base memory.
Also, in response to the "Questions the second ability would make you ask" I'm fairly certain they're all already answered by the rules. A Face-Down card is always a 2/2 colorless race-less creature card, and you can only turn a card face-down if it has a proper MtG back to become face-up, i.e. No Tokens, no Double-Faced cards, etc.
Blue: (This one I admit to being fuzziest on, there's just a dearth of token producers in the deck)
2x 3/3 Green Ape
2x 3/3 Fish
2x 6/6 Whale
2x 9/9 Kraken
11x */* Zombie

Clarification please? What would have been a better word/how was it wrong?
