Whats the point of a game where two people are smashing creatures at each other and ends in less than 5 minutes? If your attention span is that ****ty you should consider a different hobby. Control actually does take thought to pilot. Aggro, I've never played an aggro deck where I had to make actual, game changing decisions. "Lets see, this is so difficult, should I attack with my creatures? Hmm, I have creatures and he doesn't...damn I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO HERE!!!!"

    I'm speechless.

I have no words to explain to you how dumb this statement is.

This thread is about as terrible as I thought it would be.

I own exactly zero goyfs. I plan on buying goyfs eventually and I'd like them to hold value when I do because I don't mind working hard to earn them so I have something of value rather than free cardboard. Btw, if you don't have the strategic know-how to save up for a play set of goyfs, you'll never have the strategic know-how to win a tournament so why not play with a tier 2 deck and save the rest of us some money?

I think you would get more positive responses if you didn't come off as incredibly condescending. Not trying to be rude or anything but a lot off people will have very negative responses to just "l2save money like i can noob" type statements.

Now, while I don't freely think that eternal staple reprints and should be abundant, i think that they are nessesary for the game to keep generating interest in those formats. I'm not saying we need 10$ thoughtsieze, or it at uncommon, but lowering the price of them say 10/15 dollars isn't that much of a big deal to players like you and me (I do have a playset of them), but for a newer player that comes in where price is a bit of an issue, formats start to look more attractive. I know I would have more players playing than being able to sell my stuff for more than i bought it. The object of the game is to have fun after all.

Fake thread. More attempts at the welfare card players to try and drum up support on their side to get free 60 dollar staples. Wotc has proven time and time again that they won't sacrifice long term integrity of a cards value to appease people who work at Mc Donalds. MM proves this. High value cards have seen no significant decline whatsoever. Stop spreading rumors and use your time to go study for college or something so you can save up for staples instead of trying to get them for free.

Are you that guy that owns 50 tarmogoyfs and won't come off of them? I'm just kind of getting that vibe from you. Don't quite know why though.....

I agree with the OP. Why? Because paying two life for a simple discard spell is not really where you want to be. Have you guys ever played modern? If so, you usually know that you start the game already down to 15 due to shocks and fetches, and now, you could be down to 13 against any number of aggro decks. It's just based on principle. Think about it guys.....

Ban Goyf. It would defenatly open up a lot of two drops to be played.

I mean, that was the reasoning they gave for other bans. So it makes sense here.

Except they build up a crap load of mana, and run counters to push through the damage or combo.

Care to share your list or your testing that confirms this fact?

Not when you want a chump blocker it's not.

You want 4 damage? You get a creature.
You want a creature? You get 4 damage.
Need to kill your opponent this turn? Too bad.
Need a chump blocker to keep you alive another turn? Too bad.

The difference is that Stromkirk and Cackler are relevant 1st turn plays - VD's not relevant then either.

I don't quite know about that. Vexing Devil works just fine for me in the early game. 4 damage is usually what other one drops do for damage.

Except by the time you've gotten to the point where the 4 damage could kill them a 4/3 is most likely going to be completely irrelevant.

But any one drop is not relavant at that point either. I would rather Topdeck Vexing Devil than Stromkirk or Cackler.

Because it's always going to be 4 to the face, which doesn't effect the board state. When it's not 4 to the face, he was going to Supreme Verdict next turn anyways. It MIGHT be good with the Golgari champion, but by himself, he just sucks.

But when is 4 to the face not good? Isn't that, as a mono red deck, what you want? As much damage as quickly as possible?

So I was reading the thread: Ash Zealot or Vexing Devil which one is better, and I noticed that a lot of people were hating on the Devil. Why? He has been an all star for me in my Mono red deck, either as 4 to the face or a 4/3. I just don't get it.
