If you want people to answer this, we need more to go on. Which do you enjoy playing more? Which do other players prefer playing against? Which one wins more often? Do you want to have a better deck? A unique deck?

Why are these the only two options, as you seem to be starting from scratch?

I have played only one of these commanders. Marath doesn't seem fun to me - largely because I dislike Naya. But my preferences are not your preferences.

With Possibility Storm, I like picking an under-represented card type in the deck - say, Enchantment - and trimming it down to something like Omniscience and Agoraphobia/Crown of Flames/etc. You can add some other powerful ones.

What's interesting with Possibility Storm is that it only triggers with cards cast from your hand, so Melek's top of the library stuff is very potent.

There is of course stuff like Knowledge Pool, Eye of the Storm and Hive Mind. Not sure if you like them or not. They each have peculiar interactions with Melek. KP doesn't trigger from the top of the library, so only you get those spells. The other two will trigger but you will also get the extra copy from Melek's ability. Interesting stuff, anyway.

I like playing Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker with Bazaar Trader. I like giving things like Palisade Giant away.. what if you give away Goblin Test Pilot tokens? Dragon Mage tokens also seem fun. The game still progresses but people can't really plan ahead. Barbed Shocker also. Conundrum Sphinx?

Shu Yun, the Silent Tempest - Tiny
    - Relic Seeker

    Yasova Dragonclaw - Tiny
    - Evolutionary Leap
    - Sword of the Animist

    Karador, Ghost Chieftain
    - Tragic Arrogance?
    - Liliana, Heretical Healer
    - Evolutionary Leap?

    Marchesa, the Black Rose
    - Liliana, Heretical Healer
    - Flameshadow Conjuring
I'm really disappointed by Possessed Skaab's exile trigger. It was exactly what I wanted for Marchesa.

    Zedruu the Greathearted
    - Alhammarret's Archive
    - Orbs of Warding

I like all the flipwalkers, but I don't think any of them, other than Liliana, fit into my decks. I would try Jace or Nissa in Yasova if I open them in draft/prerelease, but I am not buying them. Otherwise, I haven't seen anything that I need to buy for my decks. Some interesting cards I would try, but nothing overwhelming.

Maelstrom Wanderer and Ob Nixilis of the Black Oath (monoblack control) are feeling sad. I know the tutor should go into Ob Nix, but I don't like very many tutor effects.

You can do it in 2 color, especially if you have things like Weathered Wayfarer, Land Tax and Sword of the Animist. Without these cards, I have doubts you will be able to turn it on regularly. The other option is to go White-Green, and have things like Rampant Growth and Cultivate help you get there.

But, if you are not actively searching for plains in a 2 color deck, I think it is unrealistic to ever get 7 plains into play.

This isn't a card to PUT you ahead. This is a card to help keep people DOWN. With symmetrical land kill effects (Armageddon, Mana Vortex, Stoneshaker Shaman) it's going to be brutal.

    But I play Jokulhaups Frown

I really like this equipment. I might play it in my TinyLeader Yasova Dragonclaw deck, as it boosts her power and helps me get mana for a very mana-intensive deck. I usually want to cast Yasova when on 6 mana so I can steal something the same turn, and I have a lot of spells with X in the cost that also benefit from the ramp I play.

In addition to being a bad message towards kids and viewers, there is the problem of him sitting at a table with a woman. How should she feel? Threatened? Scared?

    ...

I think Wizards made the right choice, but that they need to address it and explain how it is different for other criminals.

I think this is a well written and insightful post.

I think the first part goes beyond being a "woman" though. I would feel fairly uncomfortable sitting across from someone and thinking "oh. he raped someone in the anus. huh." I mean, sure, I wouldn't feel "unsafe," but it would definitely be an unenjoyable experience.

I think we have reached the point where we need an official policy. If wizard wants to make convictions of violent felonies a lifetime DCI ban, then I don't really have an issue with it. I'd prefer an explicit set of rules rather than just "doing what feels right" because that never works out.

MTGO thing still feels ridiculous though.

You are right, it would be uncomfortable for most people to sit at a table with him. I only said 'woman' because of the recent discussions about why women are underrepresented at competitive tournaments.

Be careful here. What you're suggesting has a faint whiff of infantilization. Is it her decision how to feel about Jesse, or is it Wizards' decision how she ought to feel about Jesse?

Is it different, though? Would we be having this conversation if he were convicted of a non-sexual violent crime? Should we be having this conversation if he were convicted of a non-sexual violent crime?

It is Wizards responsibility to make everyone feel as comfortable as possible when they go to a tournament. This means having rules about hygiene, respect, violence, etc. Sure, some women may feel fine at a table with him, but I am doubtful that 100% of women will be. That means that Wizards needs to do what is best for their players.

You second point is a very good point. I think that wizards needs to discuss this because clearly they think it is different. I, personally, think it is different, and here's why. Patrick Chapin is a criminal, but he is not a violent criminal. Zach is a violent criminal. We are talking about sexual-violent crimes, but I think this extends to all violent crimes. I would not be happy sitting at a table with Charles Mansion either. Wizards needs to make people feel safe when they play, and I think it is rational to think that people would feel less safe around a violent criminal vs a non-violent criminal. I don't think Patrick Chapin makes people feel unsafe. I know a lot of people who would not feel safe with Zach.

I think banning him from MTGO shows why Wizards is doing this though. They don't have a policy dictating that criminals cannot attend events. There are probably other convicted rapists playing at events. Banning from MTGO is clearly in line with Wizards not wanting a successful criminal representing the game. As this is the case, they need to explain why this is different for Chapin.

Does Wizards ever ask people (perhaps for event coverage, or Pro Tour stuff) whether or not they have a criminal record? It is the kind of question that comes up. If Zach ever lied to Wizards about his history, I could see this kind of reaction, and I would deem it appropriate.

If this is about having a criminal record, then I don't think it's a good reason. A criminal record should not be enough to ban someone from the game.

People make mistakes. Some people make pretty bad mistakes. I don't know if they are truly repentant. If they have tried to atone. I hope they have. But a lot of kids play magic, and I don't want them to look up to criminals. Especially that their history is not mentioned. I don't personally want Chapin in featured matches. I don't have anything against him personally. I am sure he has reformed. I'm sure there are a lot of failings of society that put him in that direction. If I were to meet him, I would not think badly of him, and I would treat him with respect. But I don't want kids to think that it is okay to take that direction. I would really prefer if he wasn't in featured matches, and if he tops a tournament (and needs to be featured), that there be a short clip where he explains his history, the consequences of his actions, and how he has reformed. I don't think being a criminal is enough basis to ban someone from the game, but I don't think we should glorify criminals. I am disappointed that I have never, until now, known about Chapin's history. This is something that should be talked about.

So, yeah, I don't think Zach should be in featured matches. In addition to being a bad message towards kids and viewers, there is the problem of him sitting at a table with a woman. How should she feel? Threatened? Scared? Nobody is afraid Patrick Chapin is going to force them to take drugs. At a basic level, he is not threatening. Zach is threatening, and will always be. He has a lot to atone for, and even then, it will never be enough in my opinion. I think Wizards should explain it if they view different crimes differently. I would understand not wanting Zach attending public events. There is already a huge issue with women not feeling safe at events. Don't need to add to it.

I hope Zach has reformed. I hope he does a lot to atone for his actions. But, you can't undo the past, and people should always feel safe at events.

I think Wizards made the right choice, but that they need to address it and explain how it is different for other criminals.

Great to see Celestial Flare back. I'm not certain this is going to be a great meta for it in general, but it is nice to have as an option.

Celestial Flare is a great answer to Dragonlord Ojutai for white decks not playing black. Jeskai and Bant in particular should benefit.

So... Willbreaker + Battlefield Thaumaturge + spells with X targets?

Icy Blast, Curse of the Swine, Glimpse the Sun God?

Maybe some Strives, too? Launch the Fleet? Hour of Need, perhaps?

Probably not too much in Standard, but seems fun.

I also like the idea of using Yasova Dragonclaw. When her ability triggers, you target, but you don't need to pay the cost unless you want to resolve the ability. So, at the beginning of combat, with Willbreaker out, you just steal something permanently without investing mana or cards. I think UG, with Kiora's Follower, Kiora, the Crashing Wave and those blue X spells and Thaumaturge could do some damage.

I often talk about making a second Karador deck. I would either make it an aggro build, or a spirits build. This is a fascinating card. Searching for Iname, Death Aspect seems very powerful! A reason to play Mortal Combat.

Add Spirit Bonds to the list of cards that interact well with this.

Abbot of Keral Keep is going to be tested in my Marchesa, the black rose deck for sure Coolthulu

I hope you have a lot of instants, because it ETBs during your end step.

It looks like black got two interesting ETB creatures with Gilt-Leaf Winnower and Priest of the Blood Rite. Its too bad there's not a blink commander like Brago or Roon for black yet.

Black doesn't need a blink commander. You use Marchesa, the Black Rose or Karador, Ghost Chieftain, or any other recursion engine. That's the "blink" that black gets. That being said, neither of them are that impressive at 5 mana. I would rather play Shadowborn Demon, outside of Elf tribal (Glissa, the Traitor?). The Priest costs too much for its effect for EDH, as the 2/2 body is irrelevant. I suppose you can play it with Alesha, Who Smiles at Death, but I think that's more of a standard combo.

    This thread says you can:

    http://www.mtgsalvation.com/forums/magic-fundamentals/magic-rulings/magic-rulings-archives/282002-gaeas-revenge-and-putrefy

non-green means "Not green". Atarka is not non-green.

    Quote from pok_onnet »
I don't think so. Dragonlord Atarka is also "non-green source".

Atarka is not a non-green source. She is a red source and a green source. This is not the definition of non-green.

The source is green, thus is not non-green. Quirion Dryad does not say "non-green spell", because non-green would mean it would not trigger when you cast Dragonlord Atarka. The only template that allows Quirion Dryad to do what it wants is the one that they used.

I like Silklash Spider or Cloudthresher soulbonded to Nightshade Peddler. They are all creatures, and they can be tutored easily in your deck. Cloudthresher is good against Kaalia as it has flash and 4-mana evoke cost and kills her by itself.

If multiplayer is important, I would pick these guys over Stingerfling Spider, who kills exactly one creature.

Blue doesn't usually hate on blue, so it is hard to think of something. Green and white definitely have cards that do this.

I did a search, and found Mana Maze, though this will impede you against blue decks if you play counterspells, and it stops you from casting multiple spells in a turn. Depending on your build, it could have a place.

Curse of Echoes could work, but only if you are playing 1v1. I imagine that in multiplayer everyone will point their copies at Teferi. Hive Mind could also work 1v1, but it is symmetrical, so you would have to have the right deck for it.
