The first Rebound spoil was the like 4WW Sorcery actually. I would like to see some good ones but I'm not holding my breath...

Yeah...but the white rare you mention (and the other blue one that is a high casting cost) are probably not quite playable in modern Smile I understand what you meant though. I'm in the same boat...hoping they provide us at least one pushed rebound spell; but also not holding my breath...just keeping my fingers crossed!!!

If you posted this in the Elf Forum I bet you would get a lot of help. I know they recently changes it to just Elves (rather than "Combo Elves" so any elf deck is ok on there...you're is an infinite combo list anyways; so you'd fit right in!

I can tell you that I once built an Elvish Archdruid/Umbmral Mandle combo deck. It can be seen here:

    http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/elf-devotion-modern/

I do like the use of Viridian Joiner, however, in yours (as it is another UM target). Just thought I'd provide min so you could see a few other cards (like Genesis Wave and/or Swiftfoot Boots...

Regardless of any of the above, you've got a really cool deck focused on an awesome combo!

Stompy got yet another card (although it may work for every version). the new Surrak is awesome! So many tools in this set!

i'm not so sure. is it as good as Xenagod? really hard to tell. testing could prove interesting. at the very least he'll probably be a hasty 5/4 most of the time. but on the downside he doesn't really do anything else, and sometimes he's just a vanilla 5/4 for 4. i'd love to be proven wrong though, as it would mean the deck getting better. and we all want that

Very true....Xenagos certainly is more powerful; but Surrak is 4-CMC and mono-green...it is a little "vanilla" however; but even in the traditional build, a hasty Primeval Titan is huge...you're right though...only testing can really tell in the end.

I browsed the primer of this deck. Is this a case where you could have a transformative sideboard and swap out win conditions to mess with your opponents sideboard decisions?

Very much so. It is hard to perfect; but transformative sideboards are actually one of the big advantages of green devotion.

I'm just waiting patiently for the "draw a card" rebound spell...lets keep our fingers crossed Smile

U, instant or sorcery (of course I'd rather have instant, but I'll take a sorcery), draw a card, Rebound...it's that simple!

That post is amazing Purklefluff! Waiting for the rest of it! Smile

I've been looking into some lists, and what strikes me is the lack of interaction in the traditional lists. With Decay, Path and Pulse in the MB in this list we have answers to combo (looking at you Twin).

I was wondering why you are planning on removing Garruk from the list? He seems to be a very powerful enabler in producing enough mana for the deck.

Also, can you add some info on how you play Utopia Sprawl? How do you determine what color to pick when you cast it?

That was one of the biggest concerns with the original "traditional" lists. They had little interaction but also weren't straight forward "combo" lists...they seemed somewhere "in the middle"...that's why Devotion started seeing some more split up de ls (I.e. Fast Aggro/Combo and highly disruptive toolbox builds). Combo is a huge portion of the meta; so if you want to win a good percentage of game one's you either have to race or disrupt.

Cool list. I'll get it added to the primer.

This is my version of the list:

    http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/07-01-15-enchanting/

It's amazing at locking down opponent and searching for win conditions. I haven't playtested it intensively so I'm not sure how viable it is but feel free to give me some criticism.

What a cool idea! With the U/W and R/W enchamtment lock-down deck making dents in Modern; there's no reason a G/W Devotion can't do well too.

I'm surprised Nylea didn't make the cut. A way to pump all those manifest creatures and enchantress while also giving them trample seems like a useful enchantment). I understand; however that most of the enchantments are white.

Very cool idea guys. Let us know how they test.

    Mentor's Meditation

    Instant - U

    Draw a card.
    Rebound

I would love this card for my modern jeskai rebound/prowess deck and it would possibly see standard play. It may have to be a sorcery, but one can dream.

Stompy players..you've got a new goody! Avatar of the Resolute! Picture to follow...3/2 Trample, Reach for GG with addition upside with +1/+1 counters...seems pretty darn good to me Smile

I've wondered about Whisperwood Elemental...I tested it for a short period (most likely far too short) and found it just a little slow...Also, it's ability didn't seem to work around Anger of the Gods as I understood it (but I could certainly be wrong as I only tested the card for a short time).

It certainly can be a LOT of card advantage, and I found it especially great with Temur Sabertooth (as if I manifested a Nykthos or Genesis Wave I could just bounce it back into my hand...) but I absolutely love Temur Sabertooth (such a versatile and powerful card in elf decks). I will have to try Whisperwood out again. At minimum it is a great card against decks like Abzan and Control (where card advantage and protection are key). At worst it is most likely a very useful sideboard card. Especially since I already run Temur Sabertooth main-board...really cool idea Splash Bros.

    Collected Company Discussion

I haven't tested it outside of my devotion deck(s); but I was wondering....for those playing more "traditional" elf combo decks...is Collected Company just better than cards like Lead the Stampede? Has anyone tested it yet. I feel like grabbing any two you want out of 6 is better than approximately 3 out of 5...hearkens back to the recent Treasure Cruise vs. Dig Through Time argument that was made for blue combo decks prior to their banning...

Just interested to hear others thoughts on the topic. I feel like it was Tailor-made for Elf decks (especially Elf Combo decks); but didn't know how it played in traditional elf combo builds.

I am pumped to finally see a new rebound spell! I can't wait to see more. I have been playing a jesksi prowess/rebound deck in modern for awhile and was super excited to hear rebound was back! Artful Maneuver looks awesome. The other two cards are great as well. I hope more of the commons and uncommons are this well made. This is shaping up to be another great set.

    REBOUND IS FINALLY HERE !!!!

I can't wait to see some of the great new Rebound spells, and this first one is AWESOME already...making your Shu, Yun 6/5 (doublestrike if triggered) and your Monastery Swiftspear 4/5 for two straight turns is just great...especially at instant speed. I can promise I'll be testing it immediately!

    Hey All,

Here is the "final" (or really "current") version of Elf Combo...Tested it every which way, and I'm fairly certain this is the best option game one.

Full discussion and write up to follow (with discussion of testing results and interactions/synergies.

Trying to update the primer, but it keeps saying "Non Latin Unitype Code" or some such thing...I'll try later; but have some good new lists/items to put up.
