After a few years of inactivity @ PucaTrade, I logged back in and realized I had a little over 30K in Puca Play money.
Can someone give me the best way to dump all of them? >_>
I have an extensive wants list, but no bites.
Go big on promotions. If you promote high enough (usually around 280%) Peter Twieg will send you just about anything if he has it in stock. He also has an inventory list on his discord channel so you can see if he has it in stock.
They can't actually fix anything by banning energy since the problems with the format are from the design of the sets currently in it. If they stop energy, then we're still going to probably be in a two to three deck dominant format, just it would maybe buy time as people sort it out so that dominaria can hit. The trouble with banning cards right now is that it hits consumer confidence in an already really shaky standard.
This is right where I'm at with this format. If energy gets nerfed, then ram red is likely to be the best deck by quite a bit. The problem wouldn't really be solved, so a ban just creates a problem of pissing off customers.
Energy was too strong of a mechanic and everything made after it can't really compete with it. We just have to wait for rotation and hope wizards doesn't do something else stupid to ruin standard. I'm not optimistic.
I'm a pucatrade dinosaur (user #27616) and it feels like puca is in a death spiral right now. I've also been a cardsphere member since it was in its beta testing.
Cardsphere has its own problem of not having enough members, so it can be difficult finding packages that are worthwhile to send. Fortunately, that problem is getting better since members are joining fairly quickly right now.
I may go back to puca at some time if it fixes it's problems, but it's not looking promising at this point. Sorry you got in at the wrong time.
I tried adding red this weekend. Initially I was strongly opposed to messing with the mana base and really enjoyed the desert package, but I think red is definitely worth the splash. It makes the post sideboard games against temur better, and pre sideboard games against everything other than control better.
Rebukeis better in other matchups like abzan procession, but still pretty good against temur. However, the more desert's hold, etc. You play, the worse it gets.
That's really sad to hear. I don't play Magic much anymore so I don't really want to dump money into buying singles. But trading on this site is just as dead. I can never get junk rares, obscure foils, Planeswalkers, EDH wants or really anything I need via trading. Pucatrade was finally the answer to all of that. I was able to get cards on pucatrade that had been on my Wants list here for years.
Try cardsphere
I had the same xperience with ShadowFenril. Though all my good cards have been sent in pucatrade so there is nothing left to send on cardsphere. Sitting on 50,000 points though waiting for someone to send me something.
If you have 50k points, then start getting aggressive with promotions.

Definitely.

Sentinel totem was great, but it's already a pretty good matchup, so I'm not sure it's worth the sideboard slot.
Lost to 4 color and temur.
Definitely the right day to play uw approach.
