MTG Salvation

SO. I have been running into the issue of only playing against blue decks in my friend-group and store meta. Decks I see often include: Talrand, Nekusar, Braids, Niv-Mizzet, Azami, ect. I think one guy and myself play a non-blue deck. I was looking around for an anti-blue commander, and I stumbled upon Jaya Ballard. I really really like her, and I'm trying to decide between her and Purphurous. I love land destruction, targeted hate, and tokens. I want to know what would be the best option to beat out these decks. Do I outrace them or do I target them?

I was thinking potentially Jaya Ballard control or norin. The amount of LD in red is hilarious to me, and Jokulhaups would make my opponents cry.

SO, my omnath deck is getting torn apart by my local meta. Decks such as GAA4, kaalia, and nekusar populate the playing field. Its a rough time for a few friends and I, and I wish to build a new deck to counter troll the opposition. I want land destruction, counters, taxation, all the good stuff. I would prefer to keep the colors to 2 or 1, and in blue, red, or white. Got any ideas?

I am looking to build a new deck, and I have narrowed it down to R/B/W burn or death and taxes. I have most of the essential cards for both but I want to know what will do better so I can finish one off. I like burn because I feel in control when I play it and not a lot can stop it (besides LoS). I have a wonderful time playing DnT because I love the flickerwisp tricks, land destruction, and overall build of it. I can pilot both well as I have play tested both. What do you guys think would be the best choice?

Hey guys, I have decided to build a new burn deck in modern, as I am taking a break for a while from affinity. I am definitely making the deck R/W/B, as this has access to bump in the night and deathrite shaman as well as boros charm and others. How competitive do you think this will be against a field of pod, gifts, infect and janky decks? I have been wanting to do something like this for a long time.

I tried a Goyfless Gruul Zoo version once with Ooze instead of Goyf, using Vexing Devil and Briarhorn as food for Ooze (Briarhorn also evolves Experiment One even if you evoke it, same for Devil if the opponent pays 4 life). It worked all right.

Yes I do have 4 oozes. That idea with the vexing devils sounds cool. I was also thinking like a RBW burn/aggro deck or like a R/U delver deck. Would those be viable in the current meta of twin/jund/RWU control?

I am looking for a new deck to play as well. My favorite styles to play are hit em' hard and fast, with some long game plan b cards, and I also like a tempo based deck as well. I would like to play some type of agressive deck because I play combo in legacy and midrange in standard. Right now I play affinity but I wanted some kind of more consistant aggro build that can withstand a longer game but not be too midrangy. Budget is 300$. I don't own many modern staples as I play standard. Any suggestions?

I really like the uniqueness of suppression field and the soldier kithkin thing. Those are hilarious! I am thinking something like blue/white with field, counterbalance and chalice. Also, I would like to keep the cost under 200, as this is just for fun.

Lost to Chris Vanmeter playing sneak and show in an extremely close game 3. Game 1 he out raced a turn 2 griselbrand. It has some rough mulligans for sure, but don't underestimate it.

So I am playing in a small tournament with some friends from school, and we all are building decks just for the tourney. I want to make them mad. VERY mad. Cards like stasis are what I am looking for. If you could post the cards that make the most people mad, that would make my day.

So is it only worth 2$? And can I play it in a tournament?

I purchased it, and then saw it was from Arabian nights and jumped for joy. Then I saw it had a white border and got confused. I thought the nights set had black borders? Can someone help me here?

If you are going for value, buy theros or RTR. I don't usually buy tons of boxes but I have made bank on theros and RTR.
