    Hey guys, quick question, will Solemnity stop Plague Engineer from placing a -1/-1 to my creatures.

    I am thinking no.

    And lastly, is Plague Engineer's effect dependent on ETB? Again, I am thinking it is not.

    P.S. Sorry I goofed the name of the card. Fixed it in thread. Smile

    @Ray

    I’ve been having good success on mtgo with a full suit of EotGR and Harsh Mentor. I view Pyro Prison to be more like Stax where everything you do hurts.

    And I thought MTG Salvation was supposed to die?! What happened?!

    The winner for Gobots out of this new set is Gingerbrute possibly replacing Hope of Ghirapur.

    And, Castle Embereth looks inspiring. I will be testing it in force once the set is released.

    Whats the card? And you think an atarkas in addition to Grenade or one or the other?

    Hit me up on PM and I’ll give some more info, because I’ve heard Salvation is closing it’s doors and I can put a lot more info out on a third party form of communication.

    Hey man, big fan of the deck and fellow Goboter now. Having been a Goblin player for a decade, this is imo the most effective and explosive ever created, better than the No Lords. Kudos on your creativity, quick question regarding the little burn I pack. I’m running 1 Shrapnel Blast, but finding it contends with Kuldotha. Which do you prefer for a single burn card?

    Thank you for all the kind words!

    With modern horizons out I have a few new cards to test out.

    But, when it comes to burn, I would go with grenade over blast. And, atarkas command isn’t a bad fit either. Note, there is a new-ish chard that came out cost two. When you attack deal 1 damage to your opponent. That can beat opponents when they wall up.

    How many Grenades? 1-2?

    One, and if you wish to push it - two.

    @Raystacks

    Your last two paragraphs are right on. It’s how I feel when I play MTGO. I’ve been playing modern since the format was created and only until now do I feel it’s devolved into what is is today. Can you answer me? No? Die.

    Now, that’s good and all when there a few decks that can win in such a way - comboish typically. But, I feel there are too many consistent threats in today’s field that require answers that have not been printed yet.

    Just last night I had somewhere between four to five creatures on the board and it was the 3rd or 4th. I was on the play. I casted two more creatures for the win and my opponent had one land. He the. Exiles SSG, taps a land, and cast Gyo Return or something like that. A 7/7 flyer pops out of the grave and he draws his whole deck and goes from 5 live to 20+...one land...Modern is dumb as f...now. But, whatever right. lol

    MTG is more luck than skill based. But, now I’m just ranting. lol

    Oh, I am missing Light up the Stage in this deck. With the low curve that this deck has and the need for synergetic parts its always a good thing to have more draw.

    My current Gobots list I call Spireside Industries:

    I play without Goblin Bushwhacker to diversify my angles in which I bash in. its maybe better that way since I run Darksteel Citadel and Spire of Industry which can sometimes be a hindrance for the RR kicker cost. However the deck is strong enough to beat other aggro decks as it can play a tempo based game if needed.

    Hey Be_lakor, I've always wanted to conger up an Izzet version of gobots to bounce whackers back into my hand. lol But, this takes it much further! This is super spicy especially with the creature count so much lower; however, it is offset with the ridiculous draw power you have. I would test it out if I had the cards on MTGO.

    If you have any videos showing it off that would be definitely worth watching.

    Updates look good, but we really need videos and match results! I’d love to watch you stream sometime if you have the capability.

    Here is a video I recently posted. It is a pile of wins I kept racking up.

    Here is another video of Gobots going against Tron. I was trying to demonstrate the use of Genesis Chamber in this match up for some guys that were interested in the SB. Personally, you don't need to SB against Tron, but if you have Pithing Needle use it over GC.

    Anyone else think that Trinisphere is really good right now? I know the deck is filled to the brim with 3-drops, but this could be yet another lock piece that could shut the opponent out while we do our thing. I think the ritual count would need to be increased so that turn 1/2 3-drops are more likely. Something like this perhaps:

    I’m sure others will chime in, but I’ve played it and played against it and it is a deceptively bad. It seems like a good lock, but it does more harm to you than good. Our rituals equate to dead cards with it out and a lot of decks play value over synergy. You would be better served using pain over more locks via EotGR and Harsh Mentor to bait field hate or close out a game quicker.

    I had an idea stemming from commander via doubling our land. To do this we use the card Exempler Lense and imprint Basic Snow Covered Mountains.

    Sorry I cannot link the card as I am using my cellphone.

    @RayStack: The win ratio is going pretty good actually. Tron used to be my boogey man. Now I beat as easily as I do with my Gobots...just not on turn three. lol I have a few recorded matches and I could easily record more an post them on my Gobots channel. Thoughts?

    But, back to Harsh Mentor. In theory he seems to work and in practice? He works as intended. He draws a lot of ire from opponents since he can net 4 to 6 damage or more if they do not kill him. Every fetch becomes a shock and it adds up. Depending on the combo they cry. Because of this, he is dispatched shortly. But, but the best part is that there is less hate for my gobos and they do not compete for the same cmc allowing me to curve into them which is so so so very nice.

    Haha yeah we both have. Well look at this way, I would rather the brew master be doing his job i.e. on the cutting edge of jank to genius brews allowing the community to enjoy the rewards. lol But, if you want to color splash, I have learned that red has a love affair with green and black in the hyper aggro decks. But, this is control, so my look back in the past isn't so applicable. White seems like it should be a perfect fit for more control, but we do love burn slow burn in pyro prision...looking at you cindervines.

    I guess we would need to see a list to understand why you are getting blown out by spot removal because in my experience spot removal is always lackluster against me; none of the threats are individually powerful enough to warrant spot removal and all of our creatures are so cheap that even 1cmc removal against us never wins more than 1 Mana on the exchange and often trades even on Mana.

    The only card advantage that comes to mind for me is light up the stage, but I can't really recommend it because I haven't tested it yet.

    It’s just for my Gobots list. You can just click the primer link and click “sample list” to see it. Just change out the jund colors for mardu and the one flex card for Mardu Accendancy. I just adore that one card. It totally “win more.” But, I like the colors and fluff (story/theme) feel the card gives off. It’s not that I’m getting hosed it simply just a need for a sideboard slot for that pericilar area and white sucks and drawing cards. Haha
