Hey folks.. got 2nd conceding in the finals of my local pptq. (50 something ppl)
played Selfeisek's most recent 5-0 list. I like lightning helix a lot... being able to hit mantis rider and also gives you a little more reach.
my matchup's
R1 2-0 Infect
R2 2-1 Blue moon
R3 2-1 Mardu Pyromancer (closer to the Gerry Thompson list for the pt)
R4 0-2 Bant spirits
R5 2-1 Humans
R6 ID (got paired against a friend.. good chance we both make top 8 with ID)
Top 8 (made 8th seed)
Quarterfinals 2-0 Hardened Scales
Semifinals 2-0 Bridgevine (had blue with prized amalgam)
Finals Offered concession.
Had only played for fun of it. my OP in finals wanted the Invite.. so the split was him getting inv and me getting first and second place price pool.
Felt good about the deck. had not made any changes to the stock 5-0 list due to the fact I had not been playing it a lot lately. I expected a lot of blue control and wanted something good vs control, humans and infect.
about the land base... I sometimes wonder if urborg is just a bit of an artifact from the eye of ugin days. always the first land i think about cutting when putting the deck back together.
also running the 2 copter main. at least around my meta im seeing a huge down tick in K-command.
im doing a 1 of scrabbling claws in board acting as a 5th relic.
liking my list a lot. its surprising that this deck is not catching on. no matter how much i seem to win with the deck everyone still thinks its trash...
I'm liking what is happening with this deck... Thought that I would add Briarhorn as a creature that would work well in the list... It can pump itself and we can activate Selvala before the evoke sac effect resolves.
I guess if they let you untap with kiki and bell ringer it works... But reanimating with Alesha means you already declared all ur attackers for the turn.
i think he was on Bogles tho.

I would like to know if white could be a easy splash for RIP.
The copter feels like a perfect addition.. and locally we have zero Though the Breach decks.
Its just to bad my deck for fnm has 4 sb leyline... oh well.
If ur going to be playing that many token generators.... the contamination lock may be pretty good.
