And what are you planning to add to your deck? I'm quite excited for Finale of Devastation in my Yeva build where I have a lot more creatures then I do in Nissa. Return to Nature is a beautiful card for sure, but I'm just not sure if I want it more then the abillity to target indestructible stuff.
With all the new awakening stuff, it could be fun to make a dedicated deck for lands with a bunch for Nissa-walkers Pollenbright Druid and Evolution Sage would be great here along Karn's Bastion.
Looking forward to your set reveiw - this set sure offers some juice all around. Plenty of cardboard I want for my various decks. Even for Nissa which is quite hard to make cuts for!
Ok so Nissa who shakes the world and Nissas triumph are going straight in. Nothing else looks that interesting but those two look like they will do very well and have added flavor bonus.
Although the Vernal Bloom effect is nice, I don't think I'll be playing Nissa, Who Shakes the World any time soon. Making creatures out of my lands seems really vunerable. Her emblem is great for sure, but getting there takes 4 turns at least and you might lose a land or two in the meanwhile. Nissa's Triumph on the other hand is something I'm looking forward to test.
In my experience with those lands, Reliquary Tower will often just be a nonbasic, but when you need it you need it. If you have a flex spot it's a good tool to have. Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx is clearly gross. It's a great addition. Ash Barrens I haven't played before, but I guess I can see it's value.
Np Glad you took a look. Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx is really gross - can't believe I havn't thought of playing it in here before! It's a keeper for sure. Ash Barrens on the other hand, not so much. I went pretty deep with nonbasics, and in my last game I think I emptied all my basics with Ash Barrens returned to my hand. Rather up my basic count - since Vernal Bloom is a thing.
How has Pir's Whim worked out for you? It seems a nice flexible spell, if slightly more expensive than I'd want for a single ramp for myself. On that note, how has Elderscale Wurm been? I've seen it in Ender66666's list too, and wondered if it would fit in here well. It won't stop Glacial Chasm's upkeep life loss, but seems great otherwise.
I only just added Pir's Whim, but in the one game I played with it, I actually used it to sacrifice my own Titania's Song so I could make use of Vedalken Orerry - I like that it's flexible like that.
I really like the interplay between Power Conduit and Spike Weaver btw, that's great - especially because Nissa's counters don't really matter. I can't remember the last time I used her ultimate.
Power Conduit is such a cute card - sadly it's not that good, but when it works it does do pretty mean stuff. Mostly it's there to make a hard fog-lock with Glacial Chasm. On Nissa, I rarely think of anything else then ticking her up - give me that card advantage!
Lifegift's not showing up in the OP, is that because it's a test change? That's a good idea though - you're pretty much Hurricane tribal over here, so having some sturdy life protection in the 99 could keep you afloat. Platinum Emperion puts on a decent Elderscale Wurm impersonation. Can't come up with any particularly worthwhile lifegain though, maybe Essence Warden?
Just forgot to edit OP to be honest. Done now
Platinum Emperion could be a great option if I should ever want more of those effects. Elderscale Wurm is pretty much a Glacial Chasm back-up in cases where this gets exiled. Essence Warden wouldn't be my kinda thing here. I put way more lands into play then creatures, and the creature-type is just way more vulnerable.
One more minor change. Can't remember when I've actually use Realm Seekers to fetch a land, and then it's just a big dumb vanilla, so going to change it for Lifegift since my lifetotal can be problematic and I don't have anything else then Sapseep Forest (which is more cute then good) and Primal Command that can gain me life. Lifegift is a card I've played before and can really net huge amounts of life, but can also put a target on your head, so not sure it's going to last - time will tell.
Game report:
4-player pod consists of Child of Alara (weird fling combo with Lord of Extinction), Melek, Izzet Paragon (wheeling to mill), Edgar Markov and me.
I start turn 1 with Forest into Burgeoning, with 3 more lands in hand, one of which I cycle only to draw into High Market. Playing Nissa turn 2 and land for turn. By turn 4 I have roughly around 8-10 lands into play while Child sits at 4 (due to Melek playing Windfall which gained me a new hand). From here the game pretty much stalls, though all except Child keeps putting stuff into play. Edgar have plenty of vamps in play and a Tauean Mauler that just keeps getting bigger. He passes the swings around, but mostly at Child since I keep convincing him that it won't matter to attack me, because I have Vedalken Orerry down and stuff in my hand. Melek don't have that much going on, but you never know with blue. Then Child attacks me with Sun Titan and I flash in Realm Seekers to block it. Melek grins, and he proceed to cast a kicked Rite of Replicate which he Forks getting 10 15/15's all at EoT since he also got a Vedalken Orerry. I don't care, because I actually do have something in my hand. Child gets killed by Edgar which now also have Blood Artist and Athreos, God of Passage. Melek believes he has to do something about it, so he casts Chain Reaction with 25 creatures on board. Can't remember how, but Edgar ended up gaining 79 lives from that play and pretty much all his creatures back in hand. I'm down at 20-ish, Melek the same. Some back and forth happens, which doesn't really matter much. At this point I have so much land in play (well over 20), but not a lot to do with it. My yard is filled to the brim but not really anything I can use. So when I finally draw into the biggest it's mostly just value (well, a lot of it). On Meleks turn he asks me how many cards I have left in my library. I 30 count, which is just how many he has in his graveyard and now I see Psychic Spiral on top of his library (since Melek is in play). He grins again, but as I desperately look at my hand for aswers I see Unravel the Aether which I use on my Burgeoing (still in play from turn 1 :gaping:). So at my turn I draw the one card left in my library, and begins to tinker for an out. And then I see it. The only recursion I have in my hand is Nissa, Vital Force, which I play, tic her down, bringing Eternal Witness to hand, play it and returns Primal Command. I use Green Sun's Zenith to tutor for Seedborn Muse, and it only takes two upkeeps to kill off Melek with Squallmonger and Edgar dies horrible afterwards since my Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx now make 26G which I can untap with Nissa, Vital Force (and yes, I have Glacial Chasm in play).
Gawd I love this deck
At one turn I drew into both Creeping Corrosion and Calming Verse, and it got me thinking that I can't remember when I've been glad to see either of them. So I want to try something out instead of them. I like removal, but targeted might be enough, therefore Reclamation Sage enters, and to support it Temur Sabertooth. The cat is properly one of the best green creatures and I honestly can't believe I havn't thought of playing it here before. It just protects creatures so well and lets me reuse Eternal Witness and gives Spike Weaver new counters.
Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx was something I just added. I thought of this deck as more of a spellsplinger type of deck, but the devotion adds up real quick. So that land is in for sure. Also tried out Reliquary Tower and Ash Barrens but I'm going to cut both of them and put back basics in their place.
Just updated my deck, thought I'd share it with you if you'd like to see.
Trying out a couple of new lands. Reliquary Tower, Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx and Ash Barrens. So the basic count got lowered, which I'm not totally fond of, but it's workable. Might cut Rogue's Passage but sometimes I just need to get past blockers, since mono green have a hard time killing creatures.
I've also removed some of my ramp (Cultivate and Kodama's), but added Pir's Whim. I have enough cards that fetches for basics anyway, and one in the cz.
Properly going to cut Sylvan Scrying for Nissa's Triumph.
I don't think I have tried World Shaper in this deck. Even though I do run High Market, I havn't felt the need dedicate more room for landrecursion (since I have all that other stuff). But I do like World Shaper and I do play it in my Gitrog build, which is more deeply rooted in dredging. You do need a reliable way to sac I think, for it to work properly.
Yeah, Life from the Loam has gotten kinda pricey, but it also a really good card. It fills the yard and brings back your cyclers or utility lands.
Yeah, there are plenty of landtutors, but what I like about Nissa's Triumph is the card advantage it got going. Obviously it's not as strong to cast without flipped Nissa, but I could see myself doing it swell. But then again, Nissa does flip pretty easily, so most of the time it would provide 3 cards - could even see me fetching 3 cyclers. Oh, the value! Might even need to jam in Reliquary Tower with all those cards this deck gets to draw
Okay, now we got something I might need to make a cut for: Nissa's Triumph. With flipped Nissa, this tutors for any 3 lands, which seems bonkers to me. But I do also have a more lands.matter style of deck then I think you do.
Ah, right. Keep forgetting that creatures can also help paying for the colored mana. Another question then - I don't see the combo with Arcbond, Charm and this Shield, could you explain?

Emergence Zone is a sweet land for sure. I do already run Vedalken Orrery and Winding Canyons, so might aswell add this one. I don't worry too about lands in the graveyard.
