While reading the Planeswalker's guide tonight, I stumbled across this line
Signature item: Purphoros wields Akmon, a large hammer whose head slightly resembles an anvil. A blow from Akmon can render the earth molten, and when it strikes metal, each spark becomes a new enchantment, some of which even take on life.
So enchantments can take on life... Reprint of Opalescence? Or will enchantments have an opalescence-like ability?
Curious to your thoughts.

If your opponents life-totals are 6 less than their starting life-totals, Purphoros costs 3 less to play (from 3RRR.
& then some great God-card itself, who controlls geomancy & pyromancy !

+1 Distribute two +1/+1 Counters among creatures you control. Those creatures gain Vigilance until end of turn.
-1 Put two White 1/1 Soldier-creaure-tokens into Play & gain 2 life.
-X Destroy each nonland-permanent with converted manacost of X.
Since Elspeths 2 Versions create 1 or 3 Tokens, i thought its time for 2 Tokens this time.
The Ultimate also fits Elspeths "Destroy-thing" i assume.
& the Pump is just a personal wish.
Koth is basically an aggro PW: in your face, oppressive, requires no thought and just awful to play against unless you are prepared
Pyromaster is a lot more fun and balanced
i have to disagreen with you & above writers.
Lets just compare Chandra & Koths abilities:
Koths +1 is pure Aggresion - big attacker each turn & rise in loyality. Thats powerful for sure ! But you Need to have many mountains for that. So hes only limited to Mono Red-Decks im afraid.
Chandras +1 is also used best aggresively. you dont get 1 big effect like Koth, but a bunch of small Utility ^^ Direct Damage, Wheenie-burn & take out the most relevant blocker. Thats also really much for a +1 & its not limited to the Colors you Play ! So this is better to Support.
Koths - 2 could be a great way to Play the rest of your Hand in 1 turn. That can be easily a Speed-Advantage. But in my experience the Situation is rarely there for it & again its only limited to probably Mono Red.
Chandras 0 says: Draw 2 Cards each turn (basicaly). This is a neverending source of Cards. People cant expect more.
Koths Ultimate is faster to reach & in with enough Mountains a certain Kill.
Chandras Ultimate can be a kill the turn she activates it.
SO my final thought:
Koths +1 is not better than Chandras, due to Chandras flexibility of her +1
Koths -2 is far worse than Chandras & even requires 2 loyality.
Koths Final somehow, is better. Even if its limited to Mountains only.
So i think that Chandra is slightly better, because of:
more flexible
free Card-Advantage-machine
keeps herself better ALife, due to the fact that she starts higher in loyality & has no -ability.
(im playing her in my Gruul-Clan & she does soo great!)
Everyone follows scg events like they are gospel. Its just a bunch of netdeckers until you get a rogue deck that wins and is then copied over and over.
Chandra is good, and I'm glad shes dropping so I can get a playset now.
I am hoping for Visara the Dreadful. They did say many more Legendary creatures, and it is a gorgon
(just please use the old art in the refresh black/purple, and ignore the horrible FTV art black/green/blue)
i really would like to see a Gorgon that is cheap, unless this is not possible.

I honestly hope they never print Kiora. All these people, every single set, will be so totally let down and I'll get to laugh my ass off, every single time

& the Picture showing him Looks soo much like Planeswalker-art.
Then i remembered that Theros is heavy on legendary permanents.
Now i wanted to ask you for your opinions if this could be really
Planeswalker-art, since everyone expecting Kiora Atua the Merfolk-Planeswalker. & i personaly really hope SHE will be !
I wouldn't be surprised to see a Chandra with four abilities. Maro has said JTMS won't stop them doing it again, and they're probably going to really want to push this Chandra. Not saying it will happen, but it's a definite possibility.

1. SELESNYA - Got a very strong Guildleader. Populate is pure Card-Advantage. They have probably also the strongest creatures (Armada Wurm, Trostani, Advent of the Wurm, Voice of Resurgence, Loxodon Smiter etc.) & good, but not great charm.

As a whole, I think that this block they knocked it out of the park with almost all of the guild leaders both in design and relative balance in power between them. The champions are a lot more hit and miss.
*It's not that Obzedat is bad (and I've even mostly come around on Teysa 2.0) But Orzhov's two legends in Guildpact were incredible designs that make these solid new cards pale in comparison.

powerful of the Simic-characters. One of a few really strong cards from Gatecras.
