    the release notes resond to my question :
    If you cast an adventurer card as an Adventure, use only its alternative characteristics to determine whether it's legal to cast that spell. For example, if Giant Killer is exiled with the last ability of Vivien, Champion of the Wilds, you can't cast it as Chop Down.

    I understood that you have a budget approach.

    I feel didn't play your list, but I feel like you don't have discard enough to maintain pressure.
    necrogin mist seems really essential in your deck.

    Maybe you can include the slow lock with Dakmor Salvage as you play already the raven's crime.

    once more I don't like the desenchant. for 2CCM, you can imagine other solutions that are mores polyvalent.
    torpor orb : it breaks all the ETB effects of creatures such as SFM, snapcaster mage, knight of autumn, human or spirit decks.
    liliana's triumph : a must have, even if you haven't any liliana : It forces your opponent to sac a creature et pass trough leyline of sanctity (you don't target the opponent) !
    In the same way, there is blessed alliance to force your opponent to sac its germ equipped with a batterskull or any sword and attacking alone.
    Blessed alliance is very good against burn too !
    I can see Ashiok, Dream Render in your side too, or maybe maindeck, just to inhibit all fetches, Whir of Invention, chord of calling, SFM (yes too!!), bring to light, scapeshift. It gives you an alternative solution to deal with graveyard decks.

    I have a doubt because of that article :
    Throne of Eldraine Mechanics

    it says :
    While the card is in your hand, your graveyard, your library, even exile, it has only the characteristics of the creature, not the Adventure. For example, if you cast a spell that lets you search your library and find a creature card, you can find Beanstalk Giant. But if you cast a spell that lets you search your library and find an instant or sorcery card, you won't be able to find Fertile Footsteps.


    so when a creature is in our hand, it is only a creature, so I understand that the adventure part of the card hasn't flash if I control tefeiri, or the leyline.

    @leslak : yes I know, thanks. I'm just focused on the fae of wishes and if there is a way to play it at instant speed for and EOT play Wink

    I confess I didn't play 8 rack since quite one year.

    I forgot modern horizons' draw lands. I think they are better.

    here are my thoughts about your list (I won't tell you to play monoB Wink ) :
    - I don't like desenchant main deck. is it due to you local meta ?
    - You have 23 lands and want to play 4 smallpox. 10 of your lands don't provides you B. You wont be able to play smallpox on T2 as regularly as you need, when it is the more efficient.
    - you have no fast spot removal (either fatal push or path to exile). it should be hard against aggro decks
    - neither spirit is a good add in. I have to include one too in my deck
    - If you have no liliana, you have to include the enchantment for 3CCM that forces each player to discard each turn (I don't remember the name).
    you can put 2 davriel more.
    - look at funeral charm, it is very versatil : spot remove a dork, a bob, or boost a neither spirit or mutavault or discard at instant speed !!
    - why do you play Leyline of Sanctity in the side ?

    I don't play neither bob nor arena.
    bob makes smallpox weaker. It gives us a dilemma when we want to play smallpox.
    I see bob only in sideboard.

    I don't like arena no more.
    for a CCM of three, I'm waiting something that has more impact on the game as we don't go to 3 lands on the battletfield at every game (thanx to smallpox).
    Liliana of the veil does, bontu's last reckoning does.

    that land gives us an expensive draw, but it produces B before, and it doesn't take the slot of any discard card in the deck.

    Hi everyone !

    I just wonder if that following Throne of Eldraine card coudld be played as a one or two of :

    Castle Locthwain
    Land
    Castle Locthwain enters the battlefield tapped unless you control a Swamp.
    T: Add B.
    1BB, T: Draw a card, then you lose life equal to the number of cards in your hand.

    It brings a draw mechanism at reasonable cost.
    controlling a swamp seems not a problem.
    What do you think about it ?

    Huuu !!! That s a weird list !!
    4 tapped lands as t1 in place of thoughtseize !
    It permits tobintroduce a playset of CB for t2.
    Bridge choosen over bontu's last reckogning => why not.

    I dont like it.... but i m not top9 of a gp, maybe it is the reason lol.

    Surely are these meta adaptation.

    Well thats not quite right
    8rack is somewhat a combo deck. It wants discard AND rack its opponent. One doesnt work without the other.
    Thats a common scenario: bogles and auras, Angel's Grace and Ad Nauseam, Tron lands and payoffs
    By using Davriel we higher counts on both setup and payoff cards, so we lower probability of fail.

    Especially vs Tron we cant let them draw cards and just uptick Lili. Eventually they will assemble tron and hit their huge threats we cant handle. We need to close game fast.


    I will test darviel, i have to convince myself Wink
    Just a question : why darviel would be more played than nezumi shortfang ?
    Because it does discards and no condition for the rack effect ?

    I just afraid af the 3 CMC.
    Maybe it is more relevant in a build without smallpox?

    I don't see what it brings to the deck. it looks very slow for our purpose.

    therfore I dont like to inject more 3 CMC cards.
    of course it does all what the deck needs, but it brings nothing that our deck is missing (to level up our MU vs tron for example).
    but it slows you if you play it in place of wrenched mind for example.

    your goal with that deck is to discard the hand of your opponnent down to 0 as quick as possible, and to maintain it.

    Personnally I'm not convinced by darviel main deck (on the paper, i haven't test it yet).
    It looks slow with 3 CMC.
    you're missing some instant, targetting spot removals : you can't just trust you opponenent when you're asking him to sac a creature (with triumph or lili) to sac the one that bother you the more Wink
    You have to be able to target some mana dork in the early game for example, or kill manlands eventhaugh there is a token on its side.
    And once more, with that new extension, you will see more PW in the modern scape... The elder spell seems a good choice as a sideboard card.Or maybe the new "price of the betrayal".

    Personnally i would cut 1 bridge and 1 davreil as long as you have only 20 lands and 12 spells of 3 CMC.
    ...
    Even with 10 spells with 3 CMC, I think that 20 lands are two few even though you don't play smallpox.
