Mar 10, 2013Akashortstack posted a message on Kresh - Supervillain?I currently run a Kresh the Bloodbraided EDH deck, but I focus more on running very big fatties and/or sacrificial control. Staples like Sheoldred, Whispering One and Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger along with large undying creatures (Vorapede) to create a mass of very scary creatures, and Butcher of Malakir keeps other people's boards under control. Birthing Pod also plays a very large part in the deck, since the undying creatures only benefit from being sacrificed. I will post a copy of the deck sometime in the future, and it is still having work done.Posted in: LordSaturn Blog

We can fix that:
Island
Forest
Mountain
As much as I like green, it looks the like the new banlist should be this:
Forest
Yeah, things would be much more balanced that way
See, in my opinion, what really needs to be banned is this:
The format would be so much better without it
I just recently cut the whips for Rakdos's Return and its doing well, might go up to a third. Will also consider slaughter games in the board. As for your creature suggestions, I'm not so sure on those. It still needs some tweaking, but its getting there.
4 Desecration Demon
4 Scavenging Ooze
3 Sylvan Caryatid
Non-creatures-26
4 Abrupt Decay
2 Doom Blade
4 Dreadbore
4 Hero's Downfall
2 Mizzium Mortars
4 Putrefy
2 Rakdos's Return
2 Ultimate Price
2 Vraska the Unseen
4 Blood Crypt
3 Forest
3 Mountain
4 Overgrown Tomb
4 Stomping Ground
5 Swamp
Basically, the deck packs nearly every removal spell in the format to handle all of the creature decks running around right now. The goal is to destroy all of their threats and then move in with a Scavenging Ooze to eat up all the things you blew up, Desecration Demon, or an ultimate Vraska the Unseen.
I'm still tweaking the deck, and I know that Whip of Erebos isn't doing enough at this point, so I need suggestions for what to replace it with. I also need suggestions for a good sideboard to fight control, since it's an incredibly weak matchup for this deck.
Let me know what you think or if you have suggestions
I play the drums in my school pep band, but that's about it. I'm not very talented anywhere else, other than some people say I'm a smart person.
+Demonic Tutor, Survival of the Fittest (gold bordered), Squee, Goblin Nabob, Erebos, God of the Dead
-Slaughter Pact, Fauna Shaman, Gilded Lotus, Mimic Vat
It was really difficult to decide what to cut from this deck, so I mostly went off of things that had been under performing lately BUT could be used in my other EDH, Roon of the Hidden Realm. I added Erebos to the deck mainly because one of my friends plays Oloro, Ageless Ascetic, so the can't gain life clause pretty much shuts down most of his shenanigans, while also providing me a source of extra card draw and an indestructible creature from time to time.
What do you think about the changes? Did I screw up somewhere? Let me know what you think
This makes me want to go to a new shop, act like I'm brand new to the game, and then tell them I'm running white. We sit down to play a game, and all I play is lands. Imagine the look on their face when they ask to see my deck and find 60 sleeved Plains
Seems decent, you're in the clan!
For now, your clan name will be Norin the Wary. Once you've shown that you are an active member within the clan, you will be promoted to a legendary member, at which time you will receive a new legendary creature of your choice as your new clan name.
Hope you enjoy being a part of our clan!
I was thinking something similar to that, but I wanted to know what everyone else thought. I don't want to discourage newer people from joining, but at the same time I don't want to have to clean out the new members list of 10 people who never posted after their first. If we set some regulations now, we can avoid issues in the future.
This is what I was thinking of personally. Anyone can potentially join, but if you have a low post count you're more likely to be inactive. I'm wanting to set something up to filter out the people who would only pop in once to see if they can join, then leave.
As long as you're willing to be active here in the clan, you're free to join. We always like to see new faces here. Since you only have 1 post on MTGS though, we can't really be certain that you're going to stick around. Post in here a couple more times and I'll put you down as a new member.
This draws attention to another point: Should we have the clan open to EVERYONE, or should we put a few small restrictions on joining? I'm not thinking anything serious, just a small post count check maybe? What do you guys think?
So I guess Roon of the Hidden Realm Bant flicker is kinda fun
This happens sometimes to me. Certain cards always end up at the bottom, or in the middle. My theory is that certain sleeves just move towards the top or bottom of the deck, the cards have a mind of their own You can always try switching sleeves with another card you see too often, this might actually help you see it more often. I don't draw my Greater Good nearly as often as I should
I cracked 4 packs of Theros awhile ago (my binder was pretty light on material and I wanted some stuff to fill it) and pulled a foil Purphoros, God of the Forge. The other rares weren't worth much, but they still either found uses or got traded off, and some of the staple uncommons really helped too.
The key thing I think with opening packs is that unlike normal gambling where you either keep your money or you don't, when you crack packs you always get something out of it. You may not have pulled that expensive planeswalker, but you did still get cards that might have use somewhere else.
I really don't have problems with any of the colors in magic. I'll play just about anything and everything equally, although I do kinda have a secret hatred for counterspells so blue doesn't get as much respect compared to other colors. Also, red as a standalone color doesn't really excite me either. My favorite colors are definitely Green and Black for the fatties, destruction, and recursion along with versatility and card draw.
If I had to pick a favorite, I would choose black. The whole idea behind the color appeals to me, destroy and conquer all through any means necessary. I'm not afraid to get dirty to win.
