After some deliberation, we have deemed that the discussion here in the state of modern has been too volatile recently. We here at Mtgsalvation pride ourselves on being a welcoming and civil community for the discussion of Magic the Gathering. While we understand from time to time conversations can get heated, flaming and trolling behaviors are unacceptable and will not be tolerated. In this thread, we have seen some of the worst of this and due to that we are taking stricter action.
When the thread is unlocked if people continue to flame and troll, we will begin suspensions immediately.
This is the last warning.

Mar 11, 2019Arclight has been a breeze for me. I just save the paths for TitI and then focus on just chipping them becasue while arclights can provide a solid burst of damage I found auriok champion has been an allstar. With Lingering Souls and Spectral procession proving enough air blockers I can normally get an Archangle or Pridemate to take them out. Its more of a war of attrition with the Phoenix deck i guess is what Im saying.Posted in: Aggro & Tempo
With your build I could see arclight being more an issue due to the lack of fliers and the fact you are going more aggressive than that standard Sisters list.
I gotta say with dredge and pheonix being top decks right now I love having 2 surgical extractions in the sideboard as it is a free spell that just can save me so much life. Hitting a bloodghast against dredge seals the game up majority of the time same to hitting a pheonix.
Mar 10, 2019Posted in: Pauper & Peasant DiscussionQuote from Humphrey »so nobody interested in discussing the fringe stuff? everyone exhausted from the previous posts or is everybody on timeout lol?
building the T3 I (re)discovered a bunch of interesting stuff. nothing Tier1 worthy ofc, but maybe still interesting for downpowered cubes.
First the mentioned Kor interaction. It even works in-color with cards like Wall of Resistance. Too bad there are only 2 Kor at common right now.
Cards I think are reasonably interesting:
Drelnoch unless it gets removed directly it seems quite good. With some sort of pump it can get quite scary.
Dreamspoiler Witches with a bunch of cheap spells it can be devastating in cubes with some amount of x/1s. Iirc it was pretty good in lorwyn limited as well.
Dead Ringers probably the worst wording of all magic (besides illusionary mask) and not oracle rewording whatsoever. But hitting 2 creatures of the same color isnt hard to do and double removal for 5 is good.
Quarry Hauler was noticed but dismissed in the akh spoiler season, but already pretty solid in a deck that just runs something like Travel Preparations or any creature that comes with at least 2 +1+1 counters or more Ivy Elemental
Ethersworn Shieldmage rated bad in evaluation and dismissed as artifact dependent card, but its an artifact itself, so its a pretty solid combat trick/pseudoremoval on its own
also potentially interesting are the Chromatic Sphere variations. They are solid fixing, replace themselves and open some amount of interesting artifact synergies, especially in white. Leonin Squire Trusty Packbeast
I know I run a UW Artifact aggro deck is MTGO Pauper and yea I love ethersworn sheildmage but i could see him as a cool option in a pauper cube as a fog/removal spell.
Drelnoch is one of my favorite cards and I actually have a casual deck that stars the tentacle yeti and a few other off attackers with pump spells. I could easily see this being included in a pauper cube with someone's U/G section featured the saboteurs archetype of attackers that draw cards or have on hit effects.
Mar 7, 2019I'm excited to see the uncommon walkers if we get them. I've considered the walkers from the intro decks before so Im interested to see what they come up with.Posted in: Pauper & Peasant Discussion
Mar 6, 20191. I have 3 signets I think and they are slotted into the guild sections atm.Posted in: Pauper & Peasant Discussion
2. yea 5 is a hard spot for artifacts. I support artifacts as a deck in my cube and I've just left 5 and 6 empty because its not worth the subpar cards.
3.I play both but have been easing in artifact removal and that has helped the skullclamp issue. Im almost to the point I may try Sol ring again.

As an Modern Enchantress player, I don't think Wild Growth is a big priority as the deck still has Utopia Sprawl. For Modern Enchantress to take off as a contender deck, it needs cards from the Legacy version.
These cards are not on the reserved list, but they would boost Modern Enchantress decks if they become Modern-legal.
I'd love to see sterling grove however Bogels would become a crazy hard deck to play against with it legal. that being said I do think of the three listed it has the most potential to be printed along with wild growth.
Mar 1, 2019Okay I know discussion has been kinda dead her but I think currently Soul Sisters might be in one of the best positions It's been in for a long time. Auriok Champion currently hoses 7/10 of the top decks per goldfish.Posted in: Aggro & Tempo
I know I use to hate the W/B versions but I have been testing out the black splash just for lingering souls and surgicals and dismember in the side and I have been enjoying it.
I plan to play this for SCG Regionals in a week and would love any feedback anyone has.

Feb 17, 2019While not as oppressive as it is in a constructed setting I have found my players have liked LUtS. The card plays like act on impulse which is good enough to make cubes in the past. I find the lower card selection is balanced well with the spectacle cost and the fact we have a little longer to use those cards.Posted in: Pauper & Peasant Discussion
On a side note I am currently testing Gates in Cube with 2 of each gate making it 40 mana fixing lands total. (cube is 480) So far in my inaugural drafts done by myself playing 4 people I found that it is nice when drafting into the 5 color goodstuff deck as the fixing is there but it also gave a nice focus of the 5 color deck that always gets drafted to utilize.
