My favorite Magic card is Saproling Burst.
I used to run it in a mono-green legacy deck that would tear the pants off most other legacy decks, despite those decks being many times more valuable than my own. Creature generation on an enchantment - yes please!
Also, it was my first foil card.
1) I think the deck needs a way to draw some cards. Currently a great option M15 gave us is Life's Legacy. Have you considered it?
2) If you considered Life's Legacy above, have you thought about replacing some of those souls and primordial with Scuttling Doom Engine? He should be easier to get and he seems like he'll finish out games even faster.
3) Given the number of big creatures you're packing, do you think 3x Darksteel Citadel is needed?
I know it's harder to discuss since I've never posted my list, but I have Abrupt Decay mainboarded, so I add in additional Path to Exile from the side. The instant-speed removal is good against their combo.
Also, I run a Melira Pod deck...so I don't run Kiki-Jiki.
1) Have you considered maindecking a Reclamation Sage or two? I'm having trouble thinking of a deck outside of RDW that it would whiff on.
2) Have you considered Chord of Calling? By changing the deck up a bit (adding in a few 1-ofs like Soul of New Phyrexia, Arbor Colossus) I think it will make us less vulnerable to sweepers by doing our fatty-casting EoT.
3) What do you think of a 1-of Soul of Innistrad? I'm not wild about the card on its own, but this guy might provide some creature recursion for late game. Maybe a sideboard card for games we think might go long?
4) Finally, have you thought about Hornet Nest as a SB option again hard aggro? RDW, white weenie, and mono blue devotion would all have problems with this guy.
Combo decks. As a Pod player, I have to play around Path to Exile a bit if I am pushing my combo.
Anyway, my vote is either Lightning Bolt or Snapcaster Mage, for the reasons already stated above by multiple people.
I understand that the original Shock will target an opposing player, and then upon resolution the casting player may choose to redirect that damage to a planeswalker that player controls.
My questions is this: if the opposing player's planeswalker had hexproof (given by Privileged Position, for example), could you still redirect that damage? Does redirecting have a targetting mechanic, or is the only target that is chosen is the original Shock targetting Player? Thanks in advance!
