My favorite Magic card is Saproling Burst.
I used to run it in a mono-green legacy deck that would tear the pants off most other legacy decks, despite those decks being many times more valuable than my own. Creature generation on an enchantment - yes please!
Also, it was my first foil card.

I agree, this should be in baseless speculation at best. OP's title and post seem to suggest some correlation between coronavirus, Hasbro collected reserved list cards, and an increase in reserved list prices. I think that's at best conspiracy theory.
Sorry if that sounds rude, but your post seems very vague and I'm not buying it at all. Are you suggesting that, to sell a new set on a plane that is already popular, that Wizards decided to shell out ridiculous amounts of cash to purchase up reserved list cards and vintage (Homelands?) packs to stuff in Zendikar Rising boxes and collectors boxes? It would seem to me that it would instead be much more cost effective to print some new expeditions, as people have been clamoring fetchlands. That would be much cheaper than recapturing reserved list cards, and it would push sales which they proved the last time they did it.
So yes, it IS just a rumor, and no, it does not make sense logically. It seems like this ploy would cost them more than it would make them, and they have other ways to push sales.
It seems that Wizards is ending their relationship with artist Terese Nielsen due to controversy surrounding her ties to offensive individuals and/or groups. This is my paraphrasing of the article; please read the article and the quotes from Doug Beyer, Principle Game Designer on the Worldbuilding Team for MT:G for exactly what was said. Beyer did confirm they have not commissioned new art from Nielsen for a while and that the last set to have any reprint art from Nielsen will be this Fall's Zendikar Rising.
I think that ability can close out a game. Activate his ability, put 25 counters on him, kill someone with commander damage? You presume it's late game and that for some reason you dont have lab man/jace/oracle.
Are you going to be able to tell from the outside which pack is which? I thought I heard you won't know until it's opened.
I’m not a big lore person, but from what I’ve read about other characters in this set, this is from a much earlier time, pre invasion, and many characters were different.
This isn’t the rulings thread so I don’t want to get in trouble for responding, but no. All targets must be selected when you put the spell on the stack, so your token won’t be on the field. And the abilities will happen in the order printed on the card.
I probably missed something, how did he get to 27/27 in your scenario?
