Anybody want to buy some Dig Through Times and Pods?
I'm not surprised by the bans. I figured if TC was going to go, Pod had to go. And honestly, Dig is not that much different than TC, and can even be better. I was hoping to get a little more time with Dig since I never even played with it in a tournament, but that's life.
Grave-Troll is overdue. It will shake up the format, which will be interesting to see. Just bought 4 Vengevines. Hopefully that pays off.
To all Pod players out there, I'm truly sorry. My best friend plays Pod, and when I gave him the news, he just sighed and said "...guess I need to buy some Goyfs now..."
Same here. Shoutout to all of you who lost >$100 for the "improvement" of the modern meta.
A new website has gotten made for a new Oldschool format. It has a great URL too
landlotusjuzam.net
It allows through Ice Age, which allows for Portent and Brainstorm for cantrips and card selection. But they also made videos for their tournament which is really cool. Anyway just wanted to let you all know.
Necropotence was unrestricted in 1995; so maybe if my friends and I played with Ice Age we would totally have the Necro Deck be a thing by unrestricting it Ahh... Broken times... Broken times...
In any case have you considered swapping out some amount of Terror for Paralyze? I generally prefer it since you can "remove" threats on turn one that are powered out with Lotuses and Moxen. However I suppose Terror is more permanent but it also cant hit Juggernaut, Su-chi and Juzáms/impactful black threats. Don't know how relevant that is in your meta but it is worth considering. What do the rest of you guys think?
If you don't do Earthquakes in from your sideboard you can board in Erhnam Djinn for your clones. Probably they're more impactful against say, WW, then a cloned Savannah Lions. I don't know though how are the clones working out for you in games?
I have moved away from the pauper format, if anyone wants to gain ownership of the primer and this thread, I'd be happy to give it to them, however the moderators can make that happen.
So this is the deck that I'm working with ATM. It's super cool and fun, however, also super budget. Most of my cards are Revised. However, I've recently acquired more money so I'm open to card suggestions that are under $20. So far, my entire group is 'Bolt Aggro, so I'm totally willing to turn this into a deck that is good against their Sligh-ish decks.
Depending on how many sets you will include theros is pretty lacking in terms of overall power level but might overwhelm your cube with aggro if you're including only older crappy sets...
Four Cryptics with 22 lands? Plus the LD increases how greedy your manabase is for red, which is really had with all those basic islands. I might even be tempted to play a few Arid Mesas with the red sources you'll need. Otherwise the land destruction might not be worth adding.
You MUST sacrifice six creatures named Shadowborn Apostle. By that it does mean all at once. Otherwise you might lose track or something, which could also lead to cheating.
Hi, this is one of my first EDH decks and after being crushed by unfair control or hyper fast decks. I'm feeling the urge to make them writhe in pain as I had. This deck's commander and card choices may seem very odd. Maga as a commander? Well.
The deck's strategy in the early game is to tutor either for Cabal Coffers or if I have it, the Magus, or a Mana Doubler, then I go for something like Braids. With the early turns, I try to get a bunch of recursion, tax, or stax onto the board, while hopefully getting a CA engine online. If none of these happen I'm very screwed.
Otherwise my midgame is where I begin to combine my various elements of taxing or staxing into softlocks where players aren't able to keep lands on the table, etc. I then use my mana to cast larger threats, like Sorin, Anowon, the Ruin Sage, or something similar.

Finally, after I have amassed a great amount of Swamps, I combine all my mana into Exsanguinate, or Maga, Traitor to Mortals.
My major concerns are that I have too many board wipes, or too few things to stop combo. I also may not have enough tutors.
Suggestions?
