We just play around it like twin plays around rending volley/decay, you're just going to have play tighter, and make sure against decks with white X open you inquisiton/thoughtseize first, or hell even pact.
I haven't been playing much recently, so I don't have a strong opinion on the next B&R announcement. But can we please ban "Grishoalbrand" as a deck name? Ugh.
Does a copy of Reliquary Tower make sense in this deck? I know it's situational, but it helps to go off with Grisel even if your mana is poor and you don't get your Shamans.
I don't think so, mainly because usually if we don't win the turn we go off it's usually bad because I find that we either run the risk of disruption, or flat out death if we fumble and/or not able to complete the combo the same turn. On another note, with this deck making top 8 at GP Charlotte and coming in 11th at GP Copenhagen, is this a sign of Grishoalbrand on the rise or do you think it's a one shot deal that will fade into obscurity? I really enjoy the deck from my playtesting, but I'm just wondering if it's competitive enough to start posting results?
so, here were are after the GP and invitational, do you guys think sculler or thoughtseize is the way to go?
Sculler seems to be in all of the decks putting up results lately. I would say try it as it is way cheaper than Thoughtseize (if you don't have them). I still stand by running Thoughtseize in an unknown meta, but if you can predict it at all then the Sculler is a good call.
Is Reveillark necessary in this deck? It was a bomb with pod available because it was so easy to get into play, but it is way harder to Chord it up and it cant get CoCo'ed into play.
It makes for a great value-train with Eternal Witness and really helps grind out games. It is very very good vs BG/x decks, and can hurt Affinity pretty bad. If you are running Walls it really isn't hard to Chord for and even if you aren't then you can expect to cast it on turn 4 no problem and sometimes turn 3 if you draw it. The Top8 list at GP Charlotte ran 1 in the maindeck.
In a meta filled with grixis twin/delver and Jund/Junk, with the rest a mix of r/g tron/affinity, logically thought is better, no?
I am huge combo fan/also playing big stuff, so I am torn between abzan company, G/R tron, and amulet bloom, but I am not sure which one. If it helps, my meta is heavy, heavy grixis delver/twin, junk, and r/g tron with a splash of jund and affinity.
RG Tron has good matchups against Jund and Junk, but then has a very bad Twin matchup. How willing are you to accept a Twin loss? That's sort of what you get with RG Tron, so maybe I'd steer away from it. They board as many as 14 cards to answer them. At 14 sideboard cards, your matchup probably gets a lot better, but you need to still find ways to get those cards early in sideboarded games.
Amulet Bloom is a very solid deck, but I'd say it's on the fence with terms of whether it's healthy for the format. It may reasonably get banned in a month. It also has a bad Twin matchup, so it's probably not the best choice. Thoughtseize is also a reasonable card against it, as is Blood Moon, both cards some of the decks in your meta may be sideboarding.
Abzan Company has a bad RG Tron matchup, but you can board in stuff like Fulminator Mage to deal with it. I don't know how much that changes the matchup, but RG Tron is probably one of your worst, if not your worst matchups. I don't know how bad it is though because Abzan Company is a new deck.
Or is Grixis delver a "better" choice than either R/G tron or Coco?

being that the card pools are so similar, I am torn between Grixis delver and twin. Is there any competitive reason to play one over the other or is it just preference/playstyle?
