A cute thing you can do is run a single Genju of the Spires. You can animate their mountains with it and then ping it with chandra every turn. Or just swing with the 6/1.

Bolt is for the instant speed more than anything. If you want more removal, run Roast instead since it can kill bananaking and the bigfish

Jebus how did you 2-0 against blue tron? My winrate against that deck is like 2-12, and the 2 wins are only because that one tron player is strongly against playing counterspells

Wildfire, what do you think about chalice on 1 against infect?

vexing devil is a trap. He's pretty much a crappy Lava Spike that gets countered by removal and some creatures. The only time he's good is if he's in some sort of balls to the wall RDW deck. Realistically, the only time he ever deals damage during the combat phase is when your opponent doesn't know what he's doing.

pyromancers goggles cost way too much, I would rather spend that 5 mana on a bskull if I wanted a persistent threat on the table. The only way I would consider it if I could double skred a Reckoner with it, but that's not how the stack works. If I wanted a copy effect I would consider Isochron Scepter before the goggles.

On another note, I went 4-0 at my LGS with the double dragon build on monday. I'm loving the thunderbreak regent and don't plan to remove him anytime soon. I also tried coldsteel hearts over mindstones, and I think they're mandatory in the dragons build since I'm losing 3 snow lands to caverns and havens. I considered cutting Reckoner because it was too difficult to cast and Skred's power was too diluted by the non-snow permanents to make him worth it.

How do you play against GR Tron? Or more specifically, how do you play against decks with 4 pyroclasm/fallouts in the maindeck?

This is the list im currently running. The Regents are actually pretty amazing, the only thing I dislike about them is that they can't trade with tasigur or angler. And that's the same thing with stormbreath. I'm also loving the caverns, they turn control matchups into byes.

Could I have some thoughts and opinions from you guys?

@Naz your arguements for most of the matchups assumes bad play on the skred players part. If I mindstone t2 and I have koth and moon in my hand, im not obligated to slam the koth down next turn because it fits my curve. I could moon instead and have a land open for removal. Or moon and use the leftover mana for a relic or something if Im feeling safe. If im up against infect and they get off to a crazy start, im not forced to drop the mindstone T2 in my hand instead of holding up mana for removal.

Against control I could just put down lands and mindstones and pass the turn until I have enough threats and mana to push through leaks/remands.

In fact, your reasoning works the same way with Molten Rain or F.Mage. Would you rather moon on T3 or LD on T3? Either answer would be wrong because T4 wouldn't be "mana efficient"

I run 4 relics and 4 mind stones in the main, and two spellskites in the side. I dont run the spellbomb, but if I had a choice between the bomb and a ghostfire, I would go for the bomb 100% of the time. It "costs" 2 mana less, and ghostfire can't cycle. The same thing between mindstone and LD, we get to do things on our turns 1/2. The mindstone gives us mana advantage at one cost less, cycles, and gives us something to do turn 2 and nobody is going to burn a counterspell on a mindstone.

I guess Stony Silence is sort of a mini-blood moon against me since it blanks out potentially a fifth of my deck.

On another note, I'm trying the 4 stormbreath, 4 regents list tomorrow with 2 caverns and a haven.

I played 4 rounds at my LGS, with around ~40 entrances.

    Round 1: Monored Goblins
Game1: Reckoner 2 for 1'd him all day, and fallout effects 3 for 1'd him. Then I put a batterskull on my Reckoner and he scooped.
Game2: Same thing, except he had a 7/7 Tuktuk the Returned out turn 4. Luckily I had a Reckoner out and bounced it back in his face for 7, then I bolted him.
    2-0

    Round 2: Grixis Twin
Game1: I had a pretty aggressive hand, but no moons or burns. I almost died to a fast tasigur, and then died really hard to a twin. I played a valakut turn 1, and he thought I was playing monored scapeshift(?)
Game2: I mulled to 5, and he had double inquisition in hand and turn 4 twin again.
0-2, round ended with 40 minutes remaining on the clock.

    Round 3: Naya Zoo?
Game1: I blood mooned him turn 3, and bolted/skreded/Fallouted all his creatures. Reckoner baited out all his bolts/helixes and cleared the way for Chandra/Koth to end the game.
Game2: I didn't have bloodmoon this game, but he was so afraid of it that he kept a hand with a Qasali and some nature's claims. I dropped Reckoner and simply got too much value out of it. Relic kept his goyf puny and bolt/skred took care of the rest.

    Round 4: Mono U Artifacts?
Game1: I had a really wonky hand. 1 Scrying Sheets, Mountain, Blood moon, simian, reckoner, batterskull, and stormbreath. The hand was largely unplayable, but I was on the play and I had a turn2 Blood Moon. I dropped a mountain. He dropped an Inkmoth, and I smiled. I thought he was playing infect, and was under the impression that moon would lock him out completely. I dropped the scrying sheets, simian and blood moon. Then he played about 3 islands and killed me with things. I eventually got my 3rd red mana and put down a Reckoner, but he stole it with Shackles.
Game2: I took out all my relics and moons, and put in rending volleys and a pithing needle. The first 4 turns was him playing a creature, and me skred/bolting them end of turn. Koth and Chandra got there.
Game3: I had a turn 1 pithing needle, but I wasn't sure what to name. I didn't remember the card that I WANTED to name, and almost named Inkmoth just to get on with the game, but I stopped myself and just held onto the needle instead. He kept playing creatures, and I had a bolt/skred for each of them. (Sucks for him that Lodestone Golem has 3 toughness.)Turn 5, he played Shackles and tried to steal my Reckoner, but I skreded it in response. I was so lucky I saved my pithing needle. I dropped Koth and swung with him twice before he played a Phyrexian Metamorph, copying my needle, targeting Koth. I had an Koth in hand, and then drew another. Near the end of the game, he was at 4 life and I drew Batterskull. I literally smacked myself in the head when I did, because if I hadn't took out Sarkhan for it I would have won right there. But I got there 3 turns later anyways with the batterskull and a reckoner.

I ended up 3-1, and won 3 packs.

What I learned; 1 Bskull, 3 stormbreaths seems to be the best combination for me. Relics are really good, I want a 4th one in the mainboard, but I really like my simians. Maybe I want a 4th mindstone too. Chandra >>> Outpost Siege. I might -2 pyroclasm, and +2 anger of the gods.

I've since made some changes to my deck. -2 sarkhans, -1 valakut, +1 batterskull, +1 stormbreath dragon, + 1 SCM. Valakut often does nothing as it gets blanked by my own blood moon. The enters the battlefield tapped, and the fact that it isn't a mountain (for koth) actually matters a lot more than I expected. I've actually ran 3 stormbreaths and 1 sarkhan for a while, but I found that the 4th 5cmc slot is best suited for batterskull. Batterskull is friggin insane on Reckoner, even more insane with a Chandra/Fallout.

@I like fallout over anger, the instant speed and cannot be countered is pretty relevant. With a Reckoner out, I'd say fallout is FAR superior.

Call me crazy, but I'm starting to feel like Skred is actually one of the weaker cards of the deck. I feel like Earthquake does everything Skred does but better, especially with a Reckoner out. I'm really considering cutting 2 Skreds maybe even 3 to put in Earthquakes. what are your thoughts?
