Not just Skred. Red is general is a color that goes out of its way to avoid touching enchantment (Decree of annihilation, Obliterate)

If it becomes a real, persisting problem you might consider Ugin in the side to exile their entire face

I said this on discord already, but I'm going to put Godo back in the deck with Helm of the Hosts when it drops. 1 card infinite pls.

he apologizes as he says he’s only been playing magic for 6 months and that the trigger was on him to remind me to draw a card off of tks.
The number of times I've heard this one from eldrazi players lol

About the same reason as Grixis, except they have more counterspells. Azcanta/Jace both pull them way ahead of us and gives them a stronger late game than us by having cheaper threats and more counterspells. We're not competitve without tron in these matchups and its not hard for them to keep us off it

UW control and grixis control are bad matchups for us now. 4 mainboard FoR destroys us, and its almost impossible for us to win a counter war without tron. Jace and Azcanta are way too good against us, we can't come back from 2 brainstorms/azcanta activations. The MU only gets worst postboard.

EE, trinket mage and ballista continue to underperform for me. Every time I have trinket mage I wished it were a treasure mage. Being able to get a wurmcoil or slaver is far superior than have a 3-4 power ballista.

    hey welcome back!

haz is pretty much inverse Stormbreath. She just tears apart decks without Path, and can wall things like death shadow forever

I dont think the snow island has ever been relevant for me since Oboro works just as well if you want double blue. I have done Ugin + O-stone + Gearhulk + island a few times before. Land drops are still important

Gifts is OP. Ugin + O-Stone + whichever 2 cards you want. I usually get gearhulk or sundering titan and then use the next gifts to try to get an academy ruins online to abuse ostone/slaver/titan. You dont even need crucible most of the time because it's just way too slow and mana intensive

Depends on the matchup. Relics go out when they dont do much, and when you have better cards to replace them with. You can usually drop a copy of Koth or any 5cmc if the other deck is hyper aggressive. Sweepers if they're dead.

The main appeal of simian is to power out a turn2 blood moon or rabblemaster and pretty much cheese them out of the game

Can someone sell me on EE? The card is pretty expensive and that doesn't even include the things that go with it like the talisman, river of tears, walking ballista, etc.

Treasure map looks like a shoddy search for azcanta to me. It dies to blood moon. I think Sunset Pyramid is better

O stone is just a middle ground between ugin and mindslaver. It's slightly faster than ugin but not by much. I rarely play it on turns 3-5 because I usually have better things to do with my mana on those turns. O-stone lock isnt great either since for 2 mana more you can straight up win the game with a slaver. I could see 2 to increase the likelihood of drawing it, but 3 is way too many imo

cutting any amounts of thirst is wrong. It's what makes mediocre and bad hands keepable, and we all know how bad this deck mulls. It's like saying death shadow isn't good in the opener, therefore death shadow decks shouldnt play the whole set

Went 3-1 at 18player fnm Tournament on friday "protect the queen" blue tron. aka 4 Platinum Angels with spellskite, chalice and pact of negation.

    win vs Jund
    win vs Reanimator
    win vs grixis shadow
    loss vs humans

Some pictures and mini reports on top foreach round at instagramm: meddling_kids

Is this your crazy list with Padeems from ages ago? I played a few games with that list before and my opponent tried to flickerwisp my angel to win with padeem out

Rather than guess, we could always go through all the available videos and just calculate what the matchups actually are.

pie shared a spreadsheet, and theres a video on his youtube channel where he shows anothet spreadsheet that includes multiple players, including shok. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vRg9VaC08KmqPJBfqqzNF9TmtTwJyPsXMoyPWTWrw7GXk9DWFsz52Um7Vic5QepcZMyykDaU9BTdpu7/pubhtml?gid=1901420698&single=true

No way gr tron is close to 40:60. Maybe before ulamog and world breaker. There are like 5 GR tron players at my local, and so i prettu much play against it every week. Shok, Pie and a whole bunch of other mtgo grinders report a 25-30% winrate against the deck.

Its true that Merfolk arent as bad as it used to be, but its still unfavorable. I haven't played against it in a long time, but dismembers, and spatials did improve the matchup by a lot.

Dredge is the same as affinity, and burn. Very coinflippy and there so many variables that are out of your control.

My point is that the deck gets gatekept by a lot of decks that aren't that uncommon.

    p.s
The deck can also have outside the game issues that don't make it GP friendly such as going to time, opponent slow rolling, not scooping to slaverlock, fatigue due to long games with not much time between rounds, etc

Having some 20% winrate matchups like gx tron, merfolk, and dredge that aren't exactly fringe decks really hurts u tron's GP performances

We also don't have that many "free win" hands. The best we have is a fast chalice and maybe a t3 wurmcoil, which arent that great compared to the godhands of other decks like burn, affinity, gx tron, eldrazi tron etc
