With a little bit of tweaking is it possible to run a U/R deck with Arid Mesa? If I need to do some investing I'd rather not spend the $10 premium on Scalding Tarn.
Edit: I'd being using either to fetch at least Steam Vents, but I suppose I could splash Hallowed Fountain and Foundry.
Has anyone experimented with Wizard Replica? It seems like it could have a place as an early blocker. Plus just the threat of an open island could slow the enemy's tempo by forcing them to play around a 2 mana mana leak.
If Swamp Mosquito is unblocked does the poison counter trigger exist if I activate a ninjutsu ability with something like Mistblade Shinobi and return it to my hand?
This list looks really good, I'll try to pick myself up a Griselbrand and test it myself. Do you usually go off the turn you reanimate Grisel (turn 4?) How long do you find yourself lasting against aggro decks like Zoo?
If you can force at least one dead draw I'm not sure how it wouldn't advance the board state, it basically gives you a free turn where they get something that can't help them. Also, it's an instant, you cast as your opponent passes turn. Then, you can either use it to mini fateseal the opponent, index yourself for your next draw, or both. I think the real key thing here is that it can be played EOT.
Second Sight Could this card have a place in any sort of draw-go control deck? It seems like combined with draw or shuffle effects you could easily set up your next couple of draws while flooding your opponent with lands or some other dead draw.
Yeah, I admit the Impostor is pretty worthless if it is the only creature in your opening hand, but combined with an ornithopter in your opening hand it becomes a 2/1 with evasion on turn one. Other than that I see it in the same vein as a one mana self-bouncing sorcery with a 2/1 flying token attached to it. I imagine if I were to include an aether vial it could be even crazier because I could use it as an instant instead.
I've got a creature heavy build that tries to bounce many of my "value" creatures through Faerie Impostor, Ninjutsu, or Familiar's Ruse. Currently Eye of Nowhere is my replacement for Boomerang which I haven't had the chance to pick up. I've got a 2-2 split between Mana Leak and Ruse because I haven't decided on whether I like the consistency of Leak or the extra value I can create out of a bounced Snapcaster or Chittering Rats My issue right now is that I seem to have issues squeezing in the last points of damage, so right now I've added Empyrial Plate as a potential finisher in combination with an unblocked flier. Can you guys offer some potential suggestions/upgrades that could help tweak the deck?
I'm not sure I like the Glimpse the Unthinkables in the deck; they're for self milling right? What happens if they mill you out of half of the clutch cards you need in addition to yarding a snapcaster or two?
Soul Spike seems like it could work well, but I don't know if you should give up on Children of Korlis just yet. They get even better if you get multiples off in the turn you draw your library.
I don't pretend to have much experience with reanimator, but I just thought I'd give my impressions.
So, I've finalized my list, and I'll make a blog post about it explaining my choices tonight. The changes I made were: -2 Seething Song, +1 Mana Seism, +1 Izzet Signet. I've had quite solid results with it, so solid that I'm starting to think that in my list -1 Seething Song +1 Izzet Signet might have optimal BEFORE the bans. I know it doesn't make sense, but it's true. The deck is working very well, and Mana Seism late game is extremely high-impact. The only problem is that now you have to count your red mana as well as your blue.
How are you using the Signet as a gifts target? Does it take the place of Seething Song in piles before you're ready to go off? What's your opinion of using Muddle the Mixture? Since it can provide Ramp with the Signet, Electromancer, or even that last ritual you need to go off (Since all the rituals we're using are now 2 cmc) or get you a Merchant Scroll or Snapcaster it seems like it could be pretty good as a two of in a list that runs so many 2 drops.

They get a deck builder's kit or salvage some constructed deck?
