Damn I'm pretty sure 3WW flash lifelink swords a guy 3/2 would be a slam dunk, and the game it has against cheaty decks is wild. Easy easy include. I think I like this more than grief.

Man this set is just hit after hit. Would be the easiest slam dunk of the set if not for ignoble heirarch.

Still a super easy slam dunk. A 2/1 for R with significant upside.

Edit - I like that you can t1 this, t2 Kari Zev, turn 3 you're attacking with 2 ragavans!

I don't like it. Doesn't kill tokens (anymore, IIRC phasing used to kill tokens), really bad against 1 or 2 creatures, only a 1 mana discount off actual wraths, and still double white. I'd like a white toxic deluge, but I don't think this is it.

Oh, and if your opponent kills this in their first main with, like, a rec sage, all their creatures can attack too.

You need 4 land types before you really feel like you're getting a great deal (the on-attack abilities are extremely meh). That won't happen enough in a normal cube game. This card is actively bad in straight gruul and a slightly above rate beater in 3 color. Easy pass.

I think this is a miss for me, but I really like the theme so far of just naming cards after mechanics and then having them do basically what the mechanic does - this and suspend. Hope we see more!

A lot of r/custommagic energy in this set lol, and I'm here for it.

Am I crazy in thinking that at the 4 mana mode the new Tourach is just better than this guy? Very different effects of course (and the extra black pip can be brutal), but what do we all think is more powerful on turn 4+ - thoughtseize or hymn?

For me this card you can do Shenanigans since it is an ETB effect. This card is way more versatile and flexible than new Tourach.

I have dreams of putting this under a Vat and using it on my opponent's draw step.

Yeah no blink for Tourach is a big bummer, but blink is a very light theme in my cube (although syngeries with clones and reainimates are important).

I think this is just worse than search TBQH - has all the fragilities of a creature but can never ramp you before turn 3. I'd play basically every 1-mana dork before this guy.

I think the best way to think of this card is a 1BBB 4/3 that hymns them that you will almost never cast as a 2/1 and that you probably won't get relevantly bigger than a 4/3 very often either. Is that good enough? The mana cost sucks, but a 3-for-1 is real and if you're casting it on turn 4 there's a good chance their hand is smaller so you have a better chance of hitting more expensive, high-impact spells. I really like it on the play in aggro too because you get to have a chance at hitting their wrath/board stabilizing planeswalker. I will definitely test this card, although the 1BBB mana cost might kill it.

If I wanted a second vapor snag I'd look at this. As it is, I don't even want 1 vapor snag lol. As it is there's just too many board states where effects like this are just you 0-for-1ing yourself.

I think we need to treat this much more as a 3/3 flash flyer for 4 than a free spell, as I think having to use the free spell mode is gonna be pretty brutal as you 2-for-1 yourself and your opponent gets to pick if they want the spell again or not. Given how competitive blue spots are now, I think I can miss with this at 465. I guess I could test it over Venser? Honestly Venser just feels better than this.

Also, as someone on Reddit said, nothing more subtle than a giant tidal wave lol.

Edit - at least it's not as brutal as leaving up a counterspell and them casting a spell you can't counter with it. WCS this is a 3/3 flash flyer which at least is a decent threat. So if you leave 4 mana up and this is your only counter, and they play a spell you can't counter, at least you can deploy a threat.

Cool card. What happens when you cast Animate Dead on it? Since it stops being a creature?

Animate dead falls off and then....I dunno? lol. I think you would sac the PW since it's referencing the object animate dead enchanted, as that's what happens with the Theros gods, for example, if your devotion is too low (animate dead falls off and you sac them even though they aren't a creature).

    — “in addition to” means Grist has two card types for Emrakul, the Promised End, which in my cube basically always ends up in the Golgari deck.

3, since Legendary is also a card type.

Negative. Legendary is a supertype, not a card type. Card types are artifact, creature, enchantment, instant, land, planeswalker, sorcery, and tribal.
