I'd like to see a Standard viable deck with Doom Whisperer and Mnemonic Betrayal in it.
The deck would be called Demonic Mnemonic.
The key cards should have first letters of D, E, M, O, N, I, and C.
If people ask what's in the deck, you could easily name them with that handy mnemonic.
Because DEMONIC would be the mnemonic for the Demonic Mnemonic deck.

I'm glad you've finally come around and agreed with the rest of us. What does damage prevention do really? Well it tries to keep the creature (who's damage is being prevented) alive. So from your own standpoint this is a badly designed card because it will not keep the tokens alive. Why? Because they still die to field wipes, -1-1, bounce, sacrifice and destroy effects. In short everything that is neither burn nor combat damage will kill those tokens. Not to mention that whatever doesn't get the tokens will get Emmara herself making the tokens lose that "significant advantage".
Any future point you make to try to make this card seem even remotely good I will counter with one word of my own: Skullcrack -

deviltone posted a message on Dimir continues to get hosedPosted in: New Card DiscussionQuote from RakathI think it's more "Why are you listing Devour Flesh as Dimir" is the question. It's a monoblack unguilded card picturing a Gruul Cannibal.
Take another look, its a Rakdos Shred-Freak on Devour Flesh. Just look at the blades on his arms and legs.
You're still right, though. It has no guild-watermark on it, so its technically a guildless card. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

For a while I was afraid Island would lose its luster due to power creep.

Not sure why anyone would, but you can do that.

Double Wanderers means each one is protected from burnspells. Which is silly, but definitely complicates matters if you don't have a lot of guys to turn sideways.
This Spark Double does Spark Joy.

Ral is an Izzet weather mage.
Vraska is a Gorgon who lives in the Golgari tunnels.
Domri is a punk kid born to a Gruul clan.
Kaya's doing the opposite of what the Orzhov do, she's eliminating ghosts instead of putting them to work. But she's also a Ghost Assassin, not a necromancer. And Dovin isn't an Azorius lawmage, he's a Kaladeshian artificer. So he's creating an aggressive spying network. The thing the Kaladeshi government loves. So he wants to be in a WU flyers deck, which I'm sure his Azorius guild will have the tools to make work (in set, as Dovin will make flying things a priority).
