Hunter won't trigger Experiment One, because it CIP as 1/1. Experiment's trigger is put on a stack only if it meets requirements.
Rulings:
"If a creature enters the battlefield with +1/+1 counters on it, consider those counters when determining if evolve will trigger. For example, a 1/1 creature that enters the battlefield with two +1/+1 counters on it will cause the evolve ability of a 2/2 creature to trigger. "
Got a set tonight. Will update with pics later, but definitely a lot of work for them.
They handed out tickets before the doors even opened, so make sure to get there early. With the ticket comes a time to come back to the booth. However, preview night was a mess and didnt work out properly, so good luck.
Here are my pics. They were hard to take with the glare.
Plasm Capture seems like a nice target for this card if you can keep him around. Counterspell every turn, free mana and removes the restrictive mana cost.
True. But generally speaking, Non-Creature mana sources are better for ramping so that your opponent can't sabotage it as well. 1 Drop mana dorks are fantastic because typically speaking, you can't get mana from 1 drop artifacts or enchantments. So cards like Somberwald and Archdruid are shakier.
That's why Verdant is cool, because its not nearly as easy for people to remove, especially for black and red.
Agreed. As a RDW/Gruul player, burning mana dorks turn 1/2 is usually what I do. Especially since it helps me hit with Stromkirk before the Loxodon comes out.
yea that's actually a tough call! Huntmaster is probably a better card overall compared to Hellrider, but Huntmaster is pretty defensive. At this point the biggest threat to this deck is probably a big sorcery board sweeper like a Bonfire of the Damned or a Rolling Temblor. In that case, I would prefer the Hellrider to just try and finish the game before the sweep. Huntmaster would be better against another aggro deck though, I just haven't really had much trouble against them yet. Probably sideboard Huntmasters lol.
Changes I'm considering right now are whether or not to remove the 3 HellRiders right now, put in 2 UlvenWald Trackers and another Ghor-Clan Rampager. Pump, fight, swing as a finisher.
I run a similar deck and actually want to splash white in just for Boros Charm. It needs some way to deal with boards wipes. I got killed by Supreme Verdict pretty hard last weekend. Loxodon Smiter seems to be my other problem but at least I can eventually work around it.
