I wish that demon was some other creature type that could slot into a Marisi deck to add some more redundancy.
And I will be really disappointed if Kaya and some newbie roll up and take out one of the more powerful Praetors like it’s nothing. It wouldn’t be as bad as the Jacetice League taking out two of the three Eldrazi like it was nothing, but it would still be really freaking stupid. The villains get taken out too easily, it makes everything feel so low-stakes. What’s even the point of having an ongoing story for years and years if everything gets resolved with lazy ass-pulls?
I wonder why the distinction of "protection from God creatures" was necessary rather than "protection from Gods" like we have seen in the past when something had protection from a creature type.
The Kaldheim Gods are flip cards this time around, so this card doesn’t have protection from the non-creature sides.
It seems pretty obvious to me that this is just teasing the future Phyrexian threat to come and not the core conflict of this set. Not sure why so many people are getting bent out of shape over this.
And this is a great card. It’s not as oppressive as the original but it’s still very useful and powerful. This is how they should be designing powerful legendaries.
Because even if this is the only card this set it means future visits to the plane are ruined.
Why? A Praetor scout doesn’t mean the Phyrexian horde is going to invade Keldheim. And even if they did invade WotC doesn’t really do sad endings any more, so Keldheim would most likely just fend off the Phyrexian invasion.

I pulled some in White, Blue and Gold. The white looks awful, the blue looks decent and the gold looks like there’s something wrong with it, even though I’m pretty sure there isn’t.
I’m not wild about this style and it really doesn’t look like that original video they posted.
They could always give us a set with Manifest/ Morph, like the upcoming Modern Horizons 2, or a future Commander Legends 2.
Niche legends can be good. I'd rather Ixidor be niche and nostalgic than strong but lacking flavor.
Honestly Morph doesn’t make any sense for Ixidor from a lore perspective. Keeping Morph as Ixidor’s thing would only be to keep it like his original card, and what would be the point? Manifest would make WAY more sense, but still not a ton of sense.
Cheating out creatures is not something I want U doing with any kind of ease, so making him a URG card that cheats stuff out would be best. If he stays mono-U to have Partner then just drawing cards would be closer to his lore than Morph.
He created living beings from nothing, and many of these things could hide their identity or had none to begin with at will. He turned nothing to something as his entire power set.
How would drawing cards fit his character? He wasn't a seeker of knowledge. He wasn't a researcher. He turned illusions into reality, and manifested beings from the aether itself. I just don't see card drawing in his powerset at all.
How does morph not fit his lore? Certainly a better fit than adding green to his color identity.
Morph is turning one thing into another thing. Ixidor doesn’t do that. Drawing cards is more like creating new things.

I would be very disappointed if we got a new Ixidor that had zero synergy with Morph
Lore-wise I don’t recall Ixidor having anything to do with morph. That was just his card. In the story he just created stuff iirc.
His illusion Magic was represented by Morph in game, and many of the cards relating to him fall into that theme. I would like synergy or similarity between a new Ixidor and an old one.
I really, really hope that Ashiok is somehow related to Ixidor and/ or Chainer, but that's mostly just wishful thinking
Short of a Morph-themed precon in URG, I don’t really see any design space for such an Ixidor to appear. And I also wouldn’t want another Ixidor that’s really narrow and niche. He’s one of the most powerful characters in Magic lore, stronger than any nuWalker, but you would never know it from his card.
