With the combo commander at such a low cm and half the mana dorks producing a single color i'm definitely packing all the color fixing lands including confluence, brass, tower, and reflecting pool. Some of the infinite combo pieces need off green mana, not to mention all of our 1 drop tutors.

Having consistent 1st turn plays is a huge incentive in my mind, our cheap commanders help us stay on curve in the early game for sure. I like the option of swinging in with dorks early game for card advantage.

Still the biggest issue is deciding which infinite mana options to dedicate too.

I'm leaning hard towards Tymna for a couple reasons. W/b allows me to finally play deathrite shaman & noble hierarch in my mana dork suite. The second is he allows a pseudo Edric plan B to draw into combo pieces.

So with the colors decided I'm struggling with do I go elf ball with a priest of Titania infinite mana combo package (always missed beck//call in tasigur's elves) or pursue other infinite mana options such as empower artifact or scepter/reversal.

So I see some talk about possibly cutting some of our ramp spells. Could this possibly make room for a few copies of Traverse the Ulvenwald I mean probably not 4 but 1-2 should be able to hit delerium late game (which is when we'd traditionally want to hit a threat off eye) and still hits a land sometimes. It could be worth testing, might be enough along side a single sanctum of ugin. Seems more organic then adding ring of three wishes which I saw being discussed on reddit.

Prosh food chain isn't a bad place to be it isn't necesarily lethal with just food chain but yeah. karador boonweaver is probably right in that place as well, but they need a sac outlet too (if junk gets a free sac outlet on a cheap legendary body watch out.).

Thanks for the reply, that was pretty much my thought on it as well, I'm running 37 land already as well.

BFZ Additions, curious as to what you cut to make room for the test run.

So I played kozilek (and Karn) EDH on mtgo for about a year before I sold my digital collection almost a year ago. Been following this primer for awhile and recently built a paper version of an updated list. In my meta game I frequently face hate in the form of stony silence, null rod & energy flux there's others but these seem particularly troublesome. I was contemplating testing scour from existence to help hit these permanents along side the already included all is dust, Karn, and Ugin. Would love to hear everyone's thougts on the option and your plans against these hate strategies.

Check out Scour from Existence. It gives us yet another piece of (non-recurring) removal at instant speed. I'm interested in testing it out.

Well the one sure thing is, we'll have options by the time this block is through.

I've been playing a similar list (but I can't afford imperial seal) I'm not convinced with lotus cobra whilst playing such a low land count. Bloom tender I'm actually playing currently. It'd be better with anfensa at the helm with the guarantee of enabling 3 colors more consistently but I can't say it's any worse then Sakura-tribe elder at its worst and far better at its best. Still tinkering my local meta is all over the place with casuals cut throats and everything in between.

    @deathandtaxes

Once you have infinite mana and tasigur on the field you can mill yourself with his ability until all your nonland cards are in your hand and lands in the gy. You can now cast crypt ghast if you don't already have him, start casting, extorting, and recovering your spells. repeat until everyone is dead.

If you don't have access to your ghast you can keep casting green Sun's zenith for 0 and failing to find a creature to shuffle it into your library so you don't deck out. Keep recycling your spells with your infinite mana to clear the board and counter everything everyone does while you slowly beat them to death....but odds are you win because they scooped to the hard lock you just created.

Can someone explain what the combos are in this deck and how you win with this deck? It looks really cool but I'm new to commander.

In a nut shell, you control the board with your removal and counter spells using tasigur's abilitity for incremental card advantage until you can get infinite mana online through something like plalinchron + deadeye navigator. The. Tasigur's lets you mill your whole library into you hand over and over enabling infinite removal and counter spells...so basically a hard lock and you can win off commander damage.

I player/brewed karametra for quite some time after release, she lends herself well to the basic ramp strategy.

First thing I see is a lack of tooth and nail and genesis wave which imp are the bread and butter of ramp in EDH. I would consider dropping a few of those flashy token spells for them, if you add genesis wave concordat cross roads and akromas memorial give you the haste to make that x = 34 wave lethal that turn.

Stocking up on the Llanowar elf dudes help you hit third turn kara more consistently and give you fauna shaman fodder off an otherwise poor late game top deck. If you can manage it at some point survival of the fittest really is that good.

In the card advantage area skullclamp works wonders off all those mana dorks and woodelves and greater good can generate some decent card advantage off big beaters that are going to die regardless ie wrath combat etc..

If you decide to get combo-y with it, alluren + cloudstone currio can enable some whacky things with cantrip creatures and other ETBs.

With the addition of Adament Negation could going Rug instead of American be more beneficial? The logic being Savage Knucklebkade being a 4/4 compared to Mantis Rider's 3/3. The recently spoiled Temur Charm seems like a decent tempo card as well.(though I really like Jeskai Charm too)

Love the Deck. Quick Question. Is this your go to list? Or do you not have specific cards included like Horizon Canopy, Sylvan Library because of the price tag? I see the 3 cards that you are currently missing. But are those all the cards that you would want to include!? What cards would you replace with them? A small section for that would be sick! The only thing that has me a little off edge with this commander.... should I be waiting to play my 1-4 drops and such until after the general is out on the field for the mana? I find testing this deck that I have to do that a lot. I'm not entirely sure if that's the correct way to go about it.

Been playing/changing my build quite a bit lately, I find getting atleast one or two early drops for mana ramp and or chump blocking is pretty essential. I run things like wood elves, farhaven elf, yavimaya dryad etc to make sure I'm hitting the 4th turn Kara. Turn 5 is usually mega ramping so turn 6-7 can drop huge threats.

Game plan is to get a 1, 2 punch with things like avenger of zendikar into craterhoof behemoth(or regal force) my other 2 man teams are khamahl & Elesh norn for the land destruction lock and Avacyn + novablast wurm. This strategy helps exploit tooth and nail and defense of the heart quite effectively and I run quite a few tutors as contingency (ie fauna shaman, b pod, green sun's zenith, eladamari's call etc...)

Touching on the subject of things like sylvan library, my build runs them the card advantage is just too good to ignore and there's no reason not too if you have access to them.

One more tid bit, with the tooth and nail/defense of the heart/genesis wave plan I find haste enabling amazing. It's a bit harder to come by in our colors but I'm currently running Concordant cross roads and Akroma's memorial and they're game ending when you tooth and nail into something like avenger/behemoth, memorial can double as a pseudo shroud for your army against the right meta as well.

I play something similar (which is in pieces ATM in favor of an animar list but I'm toying with building it again) and in my list I played luminate primordial and as long as its a 4 man pod or more the value and ease of tutoring makes it pretty amazing just as you'd think. Haven't got my hands on gaddock yet but I imagine he is great as well, I'm thinking of putting nulstone golem in the next incarnation which should serve as similiar protection. Bane of progress I'm a bit shy about as I run privileged position and acsetetism, not to mention my utility card draw stuff top, sylvan library and the like.

My group is also pretty competetive, in my last build I played genesis wave, this time around I'm thinking I'll go for a mostly permanent build and run genesis wave and primal surgeas the only nonpermanents. With grand abolisher and dosan the falling leaf as extra protection and haste enablers like concordant crossroads and akroma's memorial surge instantly ends the game.

From my experience mirror entity is amazing, but mine is kind of elfball and changeling can prove to be handy.
