Why do you think that is the key to this deck? We really only have blue cards with CMC of 1, and I'm not too certain what cards you'd want to be countering.
What are people's opinion on Thought Scour? I have read the last few pages and all of the discussion seems to be about Remand/Peer through depts and then I vaguely saw other cantrips (peek/opt) mentioned. Also, what is the consensus for the optimal number of kill cards (empty/grapeshot) mainboard.
My current list has 7 medallion creatures, 3 kill spells, 12 rituals, 4 gifts, 2 PiF, 10 cantrips (2 thought scour), 3 remands, 1 noxious revival and 18 lands I have enough tickets that I could get 2 spirebloof canals, should I? I'm currently running 4 Flooded Strands, 4 Steam vents, 4 Shivan Reefs, 4 Island, 1 Hallowed Fountain (2 wear tear in the board) and 1 Mountain.
I'm also curious on what you experienced MTGO players think the best SB should be?
I'm really new to this deck, but I got my first 4-1 today in the Friendly Competitive league. Felt great!
Why do you think that the current builds are better? They are pretty different decks. One is straight up trying to storm you out before you can blink, while this deck is a control deck with a combo finish. You think that the straight up speed is better in this meta than the ability to interact with your opponent?
I have seen a deck list or two that have a 1 of Surrak, the Hunt Caller. What's everyone's opinions on that?
You're probably seeing that card in these lists because of that "Playing On a Budget" guy. That is how I discovered this deck, someone linked me this discussion and I've read it all.
I know of one other person who mentioned a FAQ section, and I definitely think that this discussion needs that so people (most) won't ask about the same cards over and over.
I'm still knew to this deck, and I haven't had the most experience playing aggro and I think it would be good general knowledge for new players to help understand how this deck actually works, since it isn't as easy as "play every creature and turn them all sideways". I've gathered a few tips along the way, but what are the most common lines of play that people should be familiar with?
EDIT: I tested it, and it sucked. I was trying to picture already good scenarios with it. When it is good, it's great, when it's bad, it is horribly bad. And a horrible top deck.
Here's an example of what I mean. If I were to cast a mind control on a Jace's Phantasm (my graveyard has 6, and my opponent [the owner of Jace's Phantasm] has 10). What would happen?
I pretty much only play on MTGO, so I'm not sure what the most efficient build would be
