Bracers only apply to activated abilities, do they not? Otherwise they would be incredibly OP in red-based aggro with all the triggered abilities we have.
Apparently I am extremely mistaken and I shall commit hara-kiri now :((
I can't see how blind obedience would be a bad md choice in control and vs any aggro MU. hoses flash decks and you can say goodbye to resto tricks. The more I think about it I like blind obedience but that being said and this being the spark trooper scd I'll go to the blind obedience scd and stop picking daisies
If you're assuming all your guys are getting through to do damage wouldnt you rather play a three drop or a two and one drop? If five-alarm fire gained a counter for each attacking creature it MIGHT be sideboard material. Even if all your creatures only have 2 power, damage dealt by 5 creatures is 10. And even if you're gold fishing earliest would be turn 4 given you hit your 1 and 2 drop throw this down on t3 drop hellrider or zealot t4. If you did that you'd probably still goldfish at t4 without FAF.
I guess coming from a Monored sledge build blind obedience seems nastier than it really is... But as long as I have enchantment hate this will be coming in vs G/W and if they want to use selesnya charm on this fella that means less for thundermaw
I think the best way to play Spark Trooper right now is play him maindeck, and then side him out when you feel he's going to be hated on.
i know that but do you really want to bait them into siding in blind obedience? or curse of deaths hold? those cards still hurt your deck as a whole not just targeting spark trooper.
i have 4 nobles and 4 stonewrights in my deck atm but im thinking of going 4 nobles 3 or 2 stonewrights depending on how white im gonna go 2 or 3 of these fellas and -1 or 2 pyreheart wolves. im not going to say hes gonna be the new noble but he does a beastly amount of work in the late game given you have 2 creatures.
i had thought about runechanters pike but in most games id have very few spells in my gy as i only run 9 or 10... first strike is always nice but its not worth the cost...
i love this card but it being a 1 toughness creature makes me hesitant to play him. blind obedience, first striker left on defense and curse of deaths hold makes him a dead card... i played him in sealed where there is next to no good common burn and he did very well but im afraid hell become the new vexing devil... theres just too many ways to deal with him
Hey everyone who is interested. im a relatively new player (been playing for a year) and recently entered into the realm of standard/competitive (GPTs and GP) and have since been playing at local fnms to decent success with the help of this forum thanks for all the help and thanks in advance for all the awesomeness i know will come
my monored sledge ive used to play at fnm the past 3 weeks. 3-0 the first two and 2-1 last week. lost to gw multiple thrags and bad draws. mulliganed to 4 g3...
