I already had Sunhome, Pyrohemia, and Manabarbs. The Curse of Bloodletting would be good for a Commander duel, so I'll keep that in mind. Swords aren't a bad addition either, obviously.
I'll make the recommended changes and give it a test drive, and post the full list at a later time. Thanks again.
I'm looking at a Gisela, Blade of Goldnight build. My idea is to run away with the whole "double damage" half of her ability and run anything that does that same. With cards like Gratuitous Violence and Furnace of Rath both on the board, she can swing for 40 damage out of nowhere.
Does anyone have any suggestions that might not seem apparent? I've been looking through Gatherer for the last couple hours and seem to be hitting a block. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
As long as they're named better than Experiment One. Terrible name. They can fit that kind of stuff in the flavor text... it doesn't have to be in the name.
I can't speak for the whole Middle East but I did live in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) for a year from 2001-2002. From what I experienced there, I can say that the muṭawwiʿīn (religious police of a sort) have incredible leeway to enforce Sharia law in their country. If they deem collectible card games as anti-Islamic, they can enforce the law as they see fit and confiscate the offending goods.
I didn't play MTG at the time, but I went to every store I could while there. It was hard to find anything Western.
Why were Surrakar a bad example? I thought they were done neatly. I liked that Wizards didn't ruin the mystery by explaining everything about them ad nauseum.
Any time WOTC tries to explain something flavor-wise in the game, they usually ruin it. Remember the horns on vampires from Zendikar? Here's Doug Beyer's explanation... prepare to be underwhelmed.
Hooklike horns grew from the vampires' shoulders, convenient handles for the Eldrazi to dominate their slave race and, for millennia afterward, carnal symbols of the vampires' heritage of persecution.
On topic... they definitely need to bring new species and races into the game. Anything that is distinctly MTG... Thrulls, thallids, saprolings, viashino, and vedalken have all done well. They need to continue to bring out more species and races and develop the MTG brand and make it more unique.
Boros Elite is slightly disappointing in its low power level. Hopefully Boros get some solid stuff.
The flavour text on it suggests to me that Gideon might end up RW
Battalion seems really lame. It's metalcraft but with attacking creatures. It's what white wants to do with it's creatures anyways, but still. Boros definitely got the shaft this time around... just like last time.
I don't get all the rabid Justin Bieber hate. I'm not a fan by any means, so don't misconstrue this. His music really isn't any worse than anything else out there.
I haven't seen any of the following movies, and they do not look the least bit interesting: the Rocky series, the Godfather series, Goodfellas. There's others that escape me at present. They just seem kinda meh to me.

My goal this year is to convert to a strictly "primal" lifestyle (only meat, veggies, fruit, nuts, and berries, with absolutely no refined grains, wheat products, sugars, etc). I played around with it a little before Christmas and noticed I had way more energy and enjoyed being active more. Plus, the weight was melting off me.
Other than that, not much. I may give other people suggestions as to what I think their resolutions should be.

That being said, a vertical cycle would be neat.
