This is a weird suggestion that I heard from someone, but it's more of a way to change the metagame than remove the powercards of certain decks: and that it; ban fetchlands.
Reason being is that there is no point in running pure aggro/control if you can just splash another color with barely any risk(because fetchlands thin out the deck, thus making the deck more consistent) to make it midrange. Granted, this hurts every deck, but this change will hopefully bring pure aggro/control decks back.

Why does she completely shaft another clan(sultai) with that secondary ability? Why did they do this Frown

Tuck rule was necessary because only some specific colours could tuck generals.
I don't think any of the listed generals, apart from possibly Derevi(and even then, he doesn't really need one), need a ban. Prossh and Maelstrom wanderer are pretty much just nukes; they come, they do something amazing, but then they don't do much. Same with Derevi. He/she does his thing when he hits the board, and that's it.(I'm ignoring infinite combos that can be done for the sake of this)

The mimeoplasm just got a ton of help thanks to the fact that you can keep dredging without having to worry about dredging it by accident.

I'm pretty sure that the majority of cards that are banned are cards that will cause an unfun game state/giving you a massive instant advantage while cast no matter what.
Sundering titan, sylvan primordial, Prime time, G-band, etc all share this. TnN doesn't share this because while 2 creatures at once is big, you can still tutor out 2 big creatures instead of an infinite combo. It looks as if this was the trend.
Although I'm still curious as to why painter isn't unbanned and Ionia is banned.

    Good change.
If my EDH deck relies on the commander to interact with the board and it gets tucked away, I might as well scoop because I cannot use what I have chosen to be the centrepiece, or the core of my deck. Tucking my general which dictates my strategy, way of interaction, and way of having fun, isn't very nice. I'll be forced to sit out and do close to nothing.
Yes, there are problematic generals, but even then these generals rely on themselves to win, not other cards.

Scion of the Ur-Dragon is liking this set. So many different dragons to copy. I might start building it once I get the funds.

The format's in a pretty healthy state right now. Only thing that still frustrates me is why painter's servant is banned instead of grindstone being banned so as to not get a 2-card combo that wrecks a player's day.
Of course, cards will still be strong(prophet), but prophet of Kruphix only really works when you're ahead. If you're behind, it doesn't always give you a way to come back up.

The reason as to why it's banned is because it is extremely challenging to remove it. You can either counter, or use Krosan grip, or kill it when the opponent has no creatures.
Grip doesn't work, assuming they're competent enough to retain priority and use it immediately when they play it. If they don't, any instant speed enchantment removal will answer it because of the sorcery speed restriction. GY hate also effectively answers it provided you can remove all of the creatures in their yard in response to the spell. The increased power and prevalence of GY hate is one of the reasons for looking at RN as a potential unban.

It is possible to just grip during upkeep or something like that.

As for Recurring Nightmare, there are currently no other options that are near as good for a reusable reanimation spell. Your best options are Corpse Dance (Costs 2 more to use with buyback and doesn't sacrifice a creature), Coffin Queen (Costs 3 more mana, doesn't sac a creature, summoning sickness), Hell's Caretaker (Can only be activated during your upkeep), Nighteyes the Desecrator (needs to flip, costs 2 more per usage), Champion of Stray Souls (Summoning Sickness, plus it costs a ton of mana), Dawn of the Dead (Costs life, only once per upkeep, exiles the creature EOT), Whip of Erebos/Diabolic Servitude (Both exile the creature), and Strands of Night (costs life plus a Swamp sacrifice, needs a sac outlet to loop). All of those are decent enough to consider, but none match the brutal efficiency of Recurring Nightmare.

Just because a card is the best at something, doesn't mean it should be banned. Just look at Survival of the Fittest or Sneak Attack. A few people have already noticed that the environment in which Recurring Nightmare wass banned was much different than the one we have today. Is RN liable for an unban? I'm not sure. But it would certainly be wise to at least consider it.

The reason as to why it's banned is because it is extremely challenging to remove it. You can either counter, or use Krosan grip, or kill it when the opponent has no creatures.

In sealed, you are allowed to switch your decklist up as long as you're switching it with the pool of cards that you've given. In prereleases, it's totally OK to do that.

    I can't really read through 900 pages of text but there's something that I've always wanted to know about the EDH banned list;

How the Hell is Recurring Nightmare banned but Survival of the Fittest and Skullclamp aren't? Even Gifts Ungiven is banned but Survival isn't. That... can't actually be a thing can it? Has no one in that RC group ever tutored up Mike + Trike or Necrotic Ooze or whatever? No one has ever cast Skullclamp with 1 toughness creatures? Even though I think it's laughable that Moxes are banned but Sol Ring and such aren't I can reasonably understand why that might be. Namely price. I wouldn't respect the opinion of anyone who tried to argue that Moxes are stronger cards but I'd at least be willing to humor cost concerns. What I can't wrap my head around is a format where Survival is unbanned but RN is banned. Have they ever commented about Survival? I cannot possibly be the only person who plays Survival in Jarad/Karador/The Mimeoplasm to Demonic Tutor as much as I want every turn for 1 mana. Bear in mind that I'm also fetching Bloodghast to go with my Skullclamp because that interaction is also perfectly legal. I feel like I'm blatantly cheating but everything that I'm doing is somehow legal. I dunno, I don't get it lol. My games don't end on turn 4 or anything, there's no way that my meta is the most cutthroat "must win" group of all time, but as someone who only plays Black Graveyard-based decks I just don't understand why I'm legally allowed to play with Clamp and Survival but I can't have a bit of RN fun. Even when I don't just find Mike + Trike to win outright I'm still making every single God-damned card in my deck amazing. It just... I don't see how you can play against that card more than once and think "oh yeah, it's perfectly reasonable that his 2 mana Enchantment just won him the game outright." Am I on crazy pills here?

From a 1v1 perspective, this whole post makes sense.
From a multiplayer perspective, RC is hard to hit because it goes back to hand, thus making it hard to interact with. Gifts ungiven is banned because of some really strong plays(tutoring any 2 cards for 3U at instant speed is nuts, while Survival consts a creature card in hand and is susceptible to removal(which isn't uncommon, even in new metas).
Survival has a niche of brokeness(reanimator), but is just strong in general. The possibility of a ban is very real, and it might be possible. Also, late game, Survival is kind of meh, while RC and Gifts don't suffer the same problem due to safety(RC) and flexibility(gifts)
