I am one of the administrators of DiesToRemoval.com. The team of moderators know my other identity, or can easily verify it by means of a standard IP check. I would like to state that when I post on my usual MTGS account, I am always posting as a member of this forum, which I have been for a few years now. Today I went through the loopholes required in order to post in Community Issues with this account, because our website has been brought up and even members of this site's staff have engaged in passive-aggressiveness towards our community:
I think that's because they're too busy posting here to tell us about how bad we're doing. I mean, isn't that why anyone creates a new forum community?
Therefore, tonight I am posting in an official capacity, representing our website. I merely want to state that the Administration Team of DiesToRemoval.com does not endorse "forum raids", DDOS attacks, malware distribution, or any other malicious activity that we have been accused of (seriously or not). We do, however, believe in freedom of speech, community-driven site development, multiculturalism, and brutal honesty (otherwise referred to as "zero BS"). Our moderation is of a hands-on style, and even if we have actually banned at least one person from our site, we do our best to avoid stifling conversations.
The above said, we are aware that this site is a recurrent topic on our "Speak Your Mind" forum, and if we are an avenue for members of this site to vent, we are cool with it. We have archived a couple of the "Blathering" threads in the past, with the purpose (among others) of seeing whether the topic changes, but when it doesn't we maintain our philosophy to not meddle with it.
Our site is merely starting, and most of our members are also members here, yes. Some of them are over this site, some of them don't want to hear about it again, some of them still care about it and others outright hate it.
My appeal to you is that you please take the opinions of members of this community that also happen to be members of ours as what they are: opinions of members of this community. And please stop dragging our site's name in the mud, for the sole reason that we provide a channel for people to express their opinions freely.
The first time I even heard of Magic was on a commercial that talked about how guys should stop playing video games and go outside to gather with other people and play the game. It was a rather good commercial, unlike others I saw later on YouTube. They should tap on that kind of message to draw people into the game.
The good thing with MODO is that you only need to buy one of each card and it goes in every deck you make. I'd say the best is to buy singles from established bot chains.
I don't get political correctness. I am all for respecting each other, and whatnot, but I just don't get why I cannot use legitimate words in a certain context because it "might" be offensive to certain group of people. I find it hypocritical, and even worse than just not caring, because it is my opinion that if someone is putting extra effort into this, it means that deep down that person hates the group they're trying not to offend (or knows someone close to them who does).
Also, Ooze is easier to kill with lightning bolt. And for people saying dies to removal isn't an argument, go watch this past weekends GP. 4 toughness was very important a number of times, and it's the reason some people choose particular creatures.
