The thing I don't like is if you play Flayer you sort of have to play Nobles. You also really want delirium so you play some MB spellbombs (a totally dead card in some matches). I can just see myself top decking a spellbomb late game, cycling it and drawing a noble...
Hey everyone, I'm trying to get some input on my list. I'm not currently playing Noble Heirarch since she's a pretty bad topdeck late game. Here's my list:
This is 58 cards in the main and 12 in the side. What am I missing main? My numbers must be off somewhere! In the side I think I can probably use more Surgical Extraction and some more combo hate like Lost Legacy. Any other ideas?
Quick question about mana bases. I'm running a pretty typical Shardless list but I only have 2 U-Sea, 1 Trop and 1 Bayou. Would I be better off filling the gaps with basics or shocks? I know the deck is pretty color hungry so I was leaning towards shocks but I imagine getting a shock wasted must feel pretty terrible.
Here is what I was thinking for a UB list. What do you all think? Pretty unsure as to what should stay and what should go. I feel like I may have too much spot removal/discard and not enough artifacts?
only thing i see IMO is that 4 pushes, 2 GftT, and 1 Damnation in coherence with the 4 Bridges seems a little steep and unnecessary.
i was able to cut my list back to 3 pushes and 4 bridges and THAT works just fine. remember you have 4 creatures in your deck that have pretty big booties as well
That's a great point, thanks for commenting! I really want to get a solid starting point so I can start testing. I've been wanting to build the deck for years.

How much would I cripple myself sticking to an Esper or UB list? I've been wanting to play Tezz for years but just don't want to invest in the Affinity staples that I see most lists running.
With all the hype surrounding Fatal Push I think I'm going to dust off Bant Eldrazi instead of playing Jund. Or do you guys think Tron and Scape/Titanshift is going to be running rampant?
For those curious, I ended up ordering the pieces for Merfolk via one of the sales that was going on this weekend.
It's too bad black bordered Lords of Atlantis are so much more than the white bordered variants, particularly on the site I bought them from (I had loads of store credit).
I think Merfolk is the better deck. Depends on your playstyle though of course. Merfolk is more aggro and Eldrazi Taxes is more controlling.
Personally I'd never recommend anyone play Modern Magic unless they got a collection already going they want to play with. The format isn't something you buy into from scratch and due to that the playability suffers immensely. Compare that to standard, EDH, or limited, which are the most affordable formats of Magic that someone might be able play at most LGS. Basically, Modern is the format for people that have been playing since probably original Ravnica at the latest, while Frontier is the new "modern" for players who have started more recently. Just doing a historic price look on cards and things like Gaddock Teeg went from being something like two bucks to nearly 10x the cost. Not even going to get into Rhys, the redeemed or Sensei's Divining Top. The later was an uncommon that was about 50 cents and people were opening them all over the place.
I cringe every time someone calls Standard "affordable", especially more affordable than Modern. Yes, Modern has a higher initial buy in but in the long run Modern is much cheaper. Make sure you buy into the right deck for your playstyle and once its built you only have to make small changes over time. Standard constantly rotates, you pay for limited every time you play. Modern is cheaper long term so it's the format I play most. I definitely think it's worth getting into.
Hey everyone, I'm looking to build a second Legacy deck. I want to put something quirky and a little odd together. I'm considering Food Chain Combo and Aluren. Is either one better than the other? Thanks!

Hope you get a chance to test the deck Dutch. It has a good Skred-matchup I believe.
Looks like I'm running it tonight. I have a 1/1 split of Platinum Emperion and Platinum Archangel though, not sure what's better. I've heard people say the Skred matchup is good and some say it's bad. I feel like since we can operate easily with a Blood Moon in play and keep their threats from resolving it should be a decent matchup. We shall see!
