I like this card. It can be really bloodbraidy at times. I'm testing it in a Jund deck and this card really compliments hero's downfall and read the bones. Also it's really dumb with sylvan caryatid to get a free spell or under costed beater turn 3.
I like it because either mode is a serious threat paired with stormbreath, the new god Mogis, or even more Phoenix's. This will see some serious play without a doubt.
I played in a GPT on Saturday a place 15th with a 4-2 record. I lost very close games against Jund and UWr because they top decked angers before I would kill them. Here's my list
It played out how I wanted and people were not expecting such a midrange curve. Fanatic and stormbreath did a lot of work for me and were my all-stars for the night. I played against White weenies splash blue, RUG devotion, mono blue devotion, and blue devotion splash white.
I've noticed the main difference in most lists is to ajani or not to ajani. I've yet to use him, though i see the merits of both sides. Has anyone tested both ways and if so how have results been?
I run the Wb list and I've used ajani in the main before and necromancer in the side. He was good, but not really needed because the deck has a lot more ways to push through damage because of its removal suite. He does have his merits though against green decks and control.
Needs white for chains/helix, and hammer simply doesn't work with dragon in the same deck. Also, it's a bit meh when most of your dudes already have haste.
Wrecked MonoB, Esper, and Boros Devotion on Monday, lost to UG flash because I tried to play control rather than racing. May be taking out skullcracks for 2 Archangel if there's as much G/R Monsters as I expect, but we'll see, I like it as 4 atm.
I don't like the white splash at all because it does nothing against control except boros charm. I'd much rather splash black, but the lands aren't out yet. Hammer isn't in here for haste, but mainly a mana sink against control and for devotion for fanatic. I also like staying mono colored so I can run a full set of mutavault.
I played against Gw aggro, Colossal Gruul Devotion, Rug Devotion, and Gruul monsters. I also ID'd the last round because I was in no matter what. Overall the deck over performed and I will most likely run it back at another GPT next weekend.
My meta is very creature heavy(only 1 or 2 control decks)since this deck already has a decent matchup against control I cut the mutavaults and replaced them with mountains. Put 2 chain to the rocks in the main and 2 in the side. This has helped immensely against creature based decks MUD,R/W devotion, any green based deck etc.
Mutavault is the best card in the deck. It makes battalion easier to trigger and control is a very difficult match too.
one deck which still seems tough is mono U. they just have to many creatures that trade well with ours
I think the Mono U match up is fairly easy. Our deck is much faster and we have answers to both master of waves and Thassa. Also brave the elements can win a game out of nowhere.

Couldn't really ask for much else from my deck and will probably run it back at a local tournament next weekend.
Orzhov Charm is relevant in more situations, and we run xathrid so it's even better.

I feel like this deck has a good devotion match and control but the aggro decks might run it over game one.

I used to have them mainboard and would always side them out. I still have them in the board for control which isn't very prevelant in my meta.

I haven't lost a match or a game with this deck yet and it has been working amazingly. This deck is insane.
