I think between swords and beans (transforming to beanstalk, gives you some great advantage, gives opponent Giant token?) and like a crown or spinning wheel, this set could have the best artifacts since Kaladesh, maybe Mirrodin.
I don't really get hyped for Standard sets since Dominaria let me down, but I have always been sad that I didn't start playing until after Lorwyn and this seems close enough, I'm really excited

It looks more like an FNM promo than the SDCC promo, maybe they are switching from uncommons? I would think something from the panel would be higher quality, but I am no expert. It would be cool if one of the changes tomorrow was FNMA promos being just good cards regardless of rarity

To all of the people talking about the death of paper Magic, Modern is the format that gets the most views, it's the one that sells expensive packs, and they have said it's not practical to move it to Arena. there is also Commander, which probably hs more players than any sanctioned format. the Commander product each year is a huge seller, and those players won't just move online. WotC would alienate so many people with that move, it will never happen. Digital may become bigger, but they would never leave all the money on the table that they would lose from ending paper Magic. Don't trust their intentions, don't trust their intelligence or goodwill to the community or any of the other effective lies, just trust their greed.

So I know that the spindown d20s with the set symbols only started being made in 2001 or something like that. They are really a nice touch for the game. I have a Tron deck that I recently upgraded to original Antiquities Urza lands, so my question is this. Are there makers who do custom spindowns where I would be able to get one with the Antiquities set symbol? Brown would obviously fit best, but I really just want the symbol. Anyone ever seen somewhere that could hook me up?

Where does burden of proof lie?

I have my own anecdotal evidence over the course of years and hundreds if not thousands of packs purchased. I have seen visual evidence online. I have read large sellers cracking hundreds of CASES corroborating what I have encountered. Is it incontrovertible evidence proof? No. Is it probable? Most definitely.

They have done it in the past and are most likely doing it now. Evidence of seeing an uncut sheet means almost less than nothing. They could print that sheet in greater or lesser amounts than other sheets. Without numbers from WotC we cant definitively prove it. They aren't going to show them without government intervention in the form of gambling laws. The video was spot on.

    Prove me wrong. Wink

In science burden of proof is on those trying to prove a thing. In the US legal system burden of proof lies on those trying to prove guilt.
By that logic, anyone claiming track printing is happening has the burden of proof.
    “Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof”
Hatcher’s video provides zero evidence to back up his claim. At the moment all any of us have is anecdotal evidence. Until anyone provides empirical evidence all the hot air we can blow amounts to squat. Just opinions and nothing more.

I would think that the anecdotal evidence along with the established fact that it has been done in the past would be sufficient to put the ball in your court. If Wizards has ever explicitly stated that they actually stopped doing what they used to do that was exactly this, that would be a different story. and with the commonly accepted statement that prerelease packs are intentionally better than average, it would indicate that it is something they are actively doing. it would not be sufficient to meet burden of proof for a verdict, but it would be more than enough to justify a warrant if this were a crime being investigated. when UMA came out, I got 2 boxes. Not one copy of any of the 7 most valuable most valuable cards, but I got two Lord of Extinction and FOUR copies of Stirring Wildwood (and a 5th as the box topper, that stung more than a bit)

a game store.....that doesn't allow kids? I'm with Kodiak, open a store that does allow kids, then when the problem shop goes under because that is the dumbest idea ever, don't allow those miserable jerks in.

I dunno. A quick Google turned up a number of websites that provide such a service. This is one: https://www.boardgamesmaker.com/

That website charges about $8 for a single D20 which I don’t think is too bad for a custom die.

Onus is on you to figure out how to get the Antiquities logo into a format they would like. In fact... I think that would be a pretty slick die to have. I might do it myself.

I am trying to use that site, but it is giving me quite a time trying to forma the logo, lol. if you do go that route, let me know? Smile

anybody else ever done something like this?

  • posted a message on Narset, Parter of Veils Static Ability
So I was recently at my LGS and I had a Narset in play, on my opponents turn he cast 3 Manamorphose and drew 3 cards with Narset in play. My opponent was more experienced than I am so I assumed he knew of Narset's static only allowing you to draw 1 card each turn. So he went on to tell me that since Narset was my card that I was responsible for her "triggered" ability therefor he gets to keep the 3 cards he drew with Narset in play. Was this the correct ruling or should I have been able to pick three cards from his hand to place at the bottom of his deck ?

My understanding is that since it it not a 'may' on your part, there is no situation where he gets the cards. the judge would make the call about putting them back and shuffling, picking 3, etc, how to deal with it, but he does not get to draw the cards. you should definitely keep track of the ability, but it's like Chalice of the Void , it's not a 'may', it's not optional, and it does not depend on any action from you. once he was reminded or otherwise became aware that Narset was in play, he was either wrong if he is not a particularly experienced player, or trying to cheat if he is.

  • posted a message on Why do Magic player's defend the color pie so much?
I for one want another Planar Chaos type set where they say 'screw the color pie'. Nothing super broken came out of there, but we got a lot of neat designs and colors got to do stuff. My big problem with the color pie is 'blue is the color of counterspells' and 'Standard is not allowed to have proper counterspells' same for white not getting Path type cards anymore, or good small creatures. When Wizards stops doing what the color pie says a color does, but still insists on sticking to the color pie, that is how the entire Modern format ends up with like 4 white sideboard cards, a couple multicolor cards with white, and the entire rest of the color is draft chaff.

So I have been going pretty hard on the wishboard, I want it to do everything. it has bugged me that I actually have to side in my artifact/enchantment removal and have to draw it, I can't go the '4 KGC gives me a functional 4 mainboard' route. Quick Gatherer search, Sylvok Replica seems pretty sweet. can't be cast at instant speed, but it can go off, cast it early, have it chilling there for a target. It might be too cute, but it would be nice to have the Surgicals be the only thing I actually have to side in.

I'm still fairly new to EDH and only on my second deck, but I have not had that feeling. I built Ayli with all manner of lifegain and graveyard tricks....then I hated it. I play Tron in Modern, and after building Omnath, Locus of Mana I realized that ramp really is what I like to do best. I only get to play EDH every other week or so, so if my past record is anything to go by, getting bored will take a LONG time
