I know there are a lot more cards to spoil, but just going off of TCG, it's worth noting that there are currently only five Rares going for more than the cost of a Double Masters pack in preorder. There are TEN in M21. So i'm not good at math or probability, but unless they are greatly upping the number of mythics in the AVERAGE box, M21 which apparently has trash EV has a lower chance of dud packs. or something like that because double rares are odd

well it won't be worth the price of a pack after release weekend, but Ruins is a good played card and not a total feel bad to open, and not a mythic! i approve of this

Okay, this should be an FNM promo instead of the BaB of a STUPID expensive product.

That said, it's beautiful, and I am looking to upgrade my 10th Edition, I am probably still going textless but this IS beautiful

Okay, it's not really exciting anymore, but if you were going through and just saying 'what commons and uncommons make people a little less salty about a bulk rare in a $14 pack?' you'd include this, always a solid inclusion

  • posted a message on [2XM] Rhys the Redeemed— VGTime preview
In general I don't mind my cards getting reprinted, i own Tron and every value card in the deck is getting reprinted and i am COMPLETELY fine with that, i actively support it because it can get people into Modern...but Rhys and Mana Crypt and such, does anyone else not appreciate a second reprint in 6 months? Stuff that hasn't been reprinted in a bit, that's WONDERFUL, but like i bought the Mystery Booster one just VERY recently when it was reprinted, and there hasn't really been time or opportunity to get the money's worth out of it. I was super glad to see some of the OTHER cards I own in this, but back to back reprints leave a bad taste. Anyone else?

  • posted a message on Possible Double Masters lawsuit?
I'm not a lawyer, but apparently a CHUNK of the box toppers advertised for preorder purposes as 'rares and mythics' are actually not. That plus the VIP boosters being actual just gambling on the face of it with no argument to be made against it.....am i crazy, or is Wizards REALLY opening themselves to some heavy duty lawsuits with this product in general? Am i missing something, or would it be SUPER easy to take them to court?

  • posted a message on Paradox Engine in 2020 Modern
Okay Paradox Engine is such a cool card. I loved it in spoilers, I loved it in EDH, and i keep trying to make it work in Modern. It was hard before, now without Mox Opal it's even harder, but it feels like the format has slowed down, so it might be time to revisit. I want to have Engine be part of a good Modern deck. What do people think is the best path? I keep thinking about some flavor of Elfball, but I keep hearing about Urza being the way. I'm not looking to break the format open, i just want to brainstorm so i can play a deck that both has one of my favorite cards AND can keep up at the big kid tables.

I saw it had been asked but not answered. They DID specifically mention an Eldrazi pack at the highest rarity, and it isn't listed there, right?

I have mixed feelings. I think it's probably wise for them to not hire her for any NEW art with how things currently stand, but the thought of losing her art on reprints makes me sad, because let's face it, no matter what she has done or said, I would hope anyone can recognize that no conversation about the best artists and card art in the game would be complete without including her/ That art for Study is one of the most recognizable, iconic pieces in the gae

.....I lay mostly green, and i despise that sheperd already. a 1 drop that just shuts down a huge swath of interaction, that's not fun or creative or skill intensive

    2) I'm all for another Unset regardless of it's theme. Would be a nifty way to sneak in a black border card like Sliver Queen, the same way they did with Steamflogger Boss.

Reserved List- Cards WotC won’t physically reprint.

Queen is on the reserved list.
Boss isn’t on the reserved list.

If that doesn’t answer the possibility of it happening, then I don’t know what will make you understand.

List specifies tournament legal form. I think just silver border straight reprint would probably be enough, or adding some Un creature type. it's an EDH card, not tournament. lots of ways to make it fine

so...do you think we just won't get good removal this set? I remember when core sets had some of the best removal around, and they didn't have to ban stuff in Standard back then. Funny how that works. the more, and better removal, the less you have to ban threats. if Ugin gets to be a problem in the format, this absolutely won't stop it
