Of course such statements are made from somebody who called himself jace Laughing
Well Lord Seth and MrM0nd4y both already did a good job picking your post apart. Quite a few things wrong there.
Whatever, I don't honestly care enough to address the arguments, it takes way too much time on a phone.I would like to address the jab at my username. I have had that name since I discovered the forum, when I was in a serious mill phase. I have not played blue, not a single blue card, in two years. I actively dislike the color because to play it in Modern means playing combo, which bores me, or playing 3c control, which in incredibly expensive, and less successful than even my Stompy deck. I have considered deleting my account and making a new one just to have a new name, but why bother?

and Sheepz, I know Wizardsdoesn't want it, they want to avoid 'Legacy-lite' claims. but Wizards wanting something and it being best are not even close to the same. they don't want good control, but I know a lot of people who want to play Modern, but play Legacy because they want to play control
but if all

Who says that cards can't be unbanned because of Twin? If there was any other Blue tier 1 deck, it would be exactly the same deal.

Pardon me, I didn't realize that the design space of ETB untap creatures was so large. And last I checked, Pod got banned because it won the majority of Modern GPs and had a gigantic metagame percentage (both of which are things that Twin hasn't done).

TL;DR try thinking about your posts before spewing them.

wow dude, way to be an ********. and totally wrong. When Ponder and Preordain come up on this thread, do you happen to know the most common deck cited for why they can't come back? yeah, Twin. The design space for ETB creatures is not the issue, ten million hasted creatures on my turn is unreasonable, so that encompasses any good creature in Twin, but if you read my comment carefully, it is not the current power that concerns me, even a little bit. on the 'Print This' thread, or any other, any good cantrip is shot down, as are any decent counterspells. why? Twin would be too powerful. there is no other decent mainly blue deck. Scapeshift is the closest we have. an entire color suffers because the tools that it traditionally has would be too good in Twin. it also edges out slower combo because it is a consistent T4-5 win, so why bother trying something new?

on the subject of Pod, wow. in the official reasoning, they did in fact mention printing new ETB creatures was too risky. and if you were paying any attention, it was dominating because it preyed HARD on Delver, the other dominant deck, which was in fact ridiculous. if they had not been so ban-happy, it would have been a couple weeks of a lot of Pod, and then it would have died down. why? because Tron, which was kept down by Delver, would have come back and taken their lunch money. If the format consists of a broken deck and a fair deck that beats it, of course the fair deck will have a serious percentage of the metagame. Twin has always had a large percentage of the meta, not huge, butI don't believe any deck in Modern has taken and held that big a chunk since the start, the whole time.

so, watch the mockery, and maybe do some research and "try thinking about your posts before spewing them."

I'm sorry, I don't fear Twin, I don't mind Twin, postboard,I feed on Twin. but if all cards have to be judged by if they go into it and it is one card from broken and a lot of cards can't be unbanned because of it, it should be banned. it is hugely warping and it meets the same criteria they banned Pod for, only more so. I don't see the rationale for it being in while Pod is gone. 2 powerful decks with big combos that prevent cards from being printed into the cardpool or unbanned.

My guess is that 3 of them are crap, 1 is OK/EDH worthy, and 1 is broken.

Come on, let's hope for Titan Cycle quality: 1 is crap, 3 are EDH-worthy, and 1 is broken.

I think you are thinking of the Souls, except none of them were broken.

Why would you think that? that actually sounds like a fair breakdown of the Titans.Frost was crap and Prime Time is very close to busted with the other 3 doing very little outside of EDH. I don't know about the Souls in EDH, but they certainly aren't playable in Modern

I think the people pointing to the rising value are missing the point Reid, Huey, etc. were going for.

The idea is that they're against making a decision based on out of game reasons in the Top 8 of a GP. It's hard to come up with a sports analogy that specifically fits this situation, but in general you want to be watching athletes going for the win, not playing to maximize their endorsements or anything like that. For what it's worth, I think that PGO honestly wouldn't take the card. The idea that this is jealousy or something is unfounded.

I mean, if you don't agree with them, that's fine. I'm just saying they didn't get more wrong just because the price is going up.

in principle, I agree with them, in practice, this card is going for potentially life changing money. if it were a $20-50 card, I would agree completely, but I resent them looking down from their golden thrones with servants bearing grapes and bashing the man who ignores the high road and makes the choice that will benefit him after. if Wizards wants people to play well instead of rare drafting, they need to fix both the secondary market and prize structure so that being 8th with a regular foil Goyf does not net you roughly as much as 3rd without it. the system is broken so that in this situation the only ones who would not make that choice are pros who have not had to pay to play for longer than I have been playing

so at this point my understanding is that he will make more than double what the winner got. a 'pro' by definition makes money playing Magic, can they really still hate on him if he is objectively the most successful Pro in the world with MM2? OT will cry himself to sleep when dude paysall his debt, takes care of essentials and can buy a decent car after one weekend Smile

I don't blame him one bit. Goyf is the bird in hand, beating 7 other of the best in the world and winning more than that is the bird in the bush, and very unlikely. I have 0 respect for the pros bashing him. it sure would be nice to have my cards and travel expenses paid for by someone else, along with a healthy income for writing basically sales pitches, but very few people are in that position. they are like politicians, they judge from high above where real life matters.

I also blame Wizards, if the card in a form that was not unique was not $400 I am sure he would have passed the Goyf, but people with bills to pay who don't have everything handed to them won't pass that. It is WotC's fault for having the card be so valuable that this is an issue

Stompy is a good deck, if you cut Spellskite (like I have) it is under $100 and it is pretty powerful and a lot of fun. Goblins is cheap as well, although the 4x Guides are not easy on the wallet

I get having faith in the foils, but shouldn't people be flooding the market with Karn Liberated about now? outside of EDH, it is only really played in one deck, which is not T1, why does the price refuse to budge? I see it crashing harder than most next week

the other problem I have seen is that people don't use new decks.I play literally Goblin Tokens, but I have tuned it and honed and built a tough SB and it has has game against anything except assembled Tron. It is not crazy fast, my only linear deck is the Burn deck I got into Modern with, all others are very interactive. If we all brewed instead of waiting for the top players to do it for us, we could have better decks, most of them are just as lazy, but that just makes it more important to try new stuff instead of just griping. you want a new interactive deck? design the damn thing!

well for cards like Goyf (read;Goyf) they just need to bite the bullet and print it in Standard when fetches leave. nothing else will help with that damn card unless MM2 is a LOT bigger

I think it should be every 3 years, alternating between sets they have done before and newer sets. so a card is out for 6 years before it is eligible

there is no reason it couldn't have been rare Frown maybe Obliterator could still be rare? because that card needs a reprint much more than the stupid Archangel

Why? it really see's no play across any format. It is a casual favorite yes, and people "try" to force it to be good, But DC does see play and should be a mythic. Obliterator is not a good card for this format. They do not want you to be drafting mono black, you can but its not going to be a common thing. And Bitterblossom fits the theme of what they want black doing more than he does as well.

Really wish people would get over that terrible janky card.

It is actually good in the right deck, not Tier 1, but fun to play. And you are right, it is mostly just a casual card, which would be fine at rare. Endrik Sahr deserves a reprint more why exactly?
