    Splashing green (probably 2-3 Yavimaya coast and 1-2 Lumbering Falls) also gives us Atarka's command and maybe Dragonlord Atarka herself if you've got the dough (she might be too expensive though). splashing White (would prefer Port Town and/or Prarie Stream to Battlefield forge since we're more blue based) gives us Thraben Inspector and Declaration in stone (the former being a much better budget option than stone, though stone is the better card, i think)

    but the question is, if money isn't an issue, how much can we afford to splash without sacrificing out consistency? being mostly blue based does help, though.

    Sai said he had success with Visions in the main, though it's probably only 1.

    Taking out both Dancers and a Visions (but putting Scorn back in) leaves only 2 slots. not sure if it's enough for Impulse because Roar is a fine burn card, plus Volley in the board. The exlposiveness of Humans is really keeping me from being willing to run less than three copies of Impulse. one more Denial -could- work since OP said he wanted to try two, while Tyrant of Valakut is mega cheap money-wise (and mana-wise with surge), provides extra reach, and is a dragon. That might push the curve a little too much, though. Grip of the Roil is another option that also nets us a card.

    since op is mia i went ahead and tried to make a list based on what he's posted so far.

    Paranoia is still getting to me (should i find room for Fiery temper/Impulse? Should i get extra card draw for the control matchup?) since i have no experience with the deck right now, hopefully i'll be able to sleeve this up for Game Day.

    What's your updated list?

    Also, I'm kinda scared of GB rites, and it's making me want to throw in 2 Yavimaya coasts for Radiant Flames. What do you think of the matchup? and Seasons Past control while we're at it. I'm not sure how good we are at racing in either direction

    Do you think Clash of Wills has a spot in the sideboard vs aggro? Also, I feel like we should be taking a less flash/creature-centric approach and add more instants/sorceries so we can play Fiery Impulse

    Um... read Uncharted Realms maybe?

    Of course, and I do, but what about the people who don't? They'd also be less inclined to read UR because the story's already spoiled for them. Maybe it is or isn't a bad thing, but the old way forced people to read UR if they wanted to know the story, but the person would have to care enough to do it. In the new way, the people who wouldn't care about the lore can still follow the story now, but there's still the chance people are less likely to read the story. Of course, if there's anything showing that the number of hits on UR stories have actually gone up since the change, I'd gladly concede.

    and the story cards are pretty kick-ass. I'm half hoping there are Jace and Gideon versions of this card, but considering the art and mechanics are teamwork based, i doubt it.

    nowhere did he say it was because Instants are bad, or that the supertype would only be on a few cards, just that it would have made templating more tidy

    wasn't this in response to the Flash mechanic and not instants as a whole? pretty sure Counterspells and instant kill spells would still have been a norm, just as "Instant Sorceries"

    Seeing a lot of good uncommons for limited, especially in the colorless parts. makes me wish i had the money to consistently play limited

    Halimar Tidecaller is clever.. might have to revamp my cube to include her and make Awaken a GU subtheme or something

    Spell Shrivel as a bigger mana leak? Izzet commanders won't mind this. If i get around to making counterburn i wouldn't mind putting this in either

    I hate our replacement burn. no 2 mana ones, but Touch of the Void seems to be the best one, though stonefury is pretty ok too, especially in ramp decks

    I like the fact that Natural Connection is instant (even though i still can't put it on isochron Scepter)

    Swell of Growth is pretty fricking amazing for landfall. if a Zoo landfall deck pops up with Scythe Leopard, i wouldnt' be surprised to see this in them

    I hate converge and the fact that it represents GU. I guess we have a decent amount of fixing to at least get 3 colors like the frickin THREE MANA ELF and the GU uncommon will always be at least a 2/2 flier and always efficient for its cost

    can someone remind me how often full-arts will appear? that's probably where the money value of this set will be and i might just buy a box for the neato lands

    So in a singleton cube, how many cards are necessary to support a theme? like say, WB spirits or GU graft from MM15. I'm finding it hard to cut cards because they serve a more general purpose or are necessary for other themes (for example, i want to keep Wavecrash Triton and Nimbus Naiad for WU Heroic but I also need space for Helium Squirter and Steady Progress)

    uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuugggggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Zurgo is boring BUT it's hilariously ironic.

    Time to remake RDW! Legendary hurts him, but as a 2 power for 1 AND dash, i'm thinking 3-4. just need to search for more Satyrs and i'll be good! Pretty good for a Tiny leader too, or at least in an Alesha deck.

    Dromoka is good but boring as well. Was hoping for more +1/+1 shenanigans or perhaps an ETB effect so i can have one for Roon of the Hidden Realm. pretty ok for EDH though.

    EDIT: woops, long post. spoiled, in case anyone wants to hear my opinion (it's just my thoughts on individual cards. i'm not good enough to evaluate the whole set at once, heh)

    now this guy is pretty awesome! you get a 3/2 no matter how you slice it, although i', gonna say the second mode will be chosen more often

    Cloudform is pretty cool too! Now that i think about it, these Living Enchantments could actually help WU heroic. Manifest a land when you don't need more, and topdecking isn't hard with Battlewise Hoplite and Aqeous Form and such.
