    Thanks WeaponX for the quick response! I don't currently run Abundant Growth in my enchantress build, but I may go back to having it in there again to be able to land this early on a consistent basis if need be. I may also just go with the StP route, but it's not an enchantment, so that loses flavor points in my books :p

    Edit: Or I could just O'ring them now that I think about it.... ok, maybe it won't be as much of a problem as I thought initially

    So in my local meta Death and Taxes is a pretty common deck, and I have a feeling Spirit of the Labyrinth is going to be a WIDELY played card. I'm thinking that I may look at getting some Dread of Night to make the matchup a lot more favorable, as I feel our draw engine really need to occur for the deck not to stall out terribly.

    So long story short: what's the best way to sneak black into the deck? I was thinking of running a singleton Bayou, and then we can crack a Windswept Heath the turn that we actually need the black to cast DoN. Is there a better way to do this, like naming black with a Utopia Sprawl?

    What are people's thoughts on Brimaz, King of Oreskos? Generates creatures on the offense and defense, and higher than normal toughness for it's CMC.

    Thoughts?

    Edit: Guess I got Ninja'd on this one.

    Just drafted this deck and I feel REALLY pleased with it. I feel like something was wonky as I got passed JTMS and FoW in row, and they were the 2nd and 3rd cards I got. I have a feeling the deck would perform pretty good.

    I drafted this deck earlier today, and I feel like it turned out fairly well. Decided against balance in the deck because I'm fairly certain it'll turn out badly for me in most situations. I also feel like I didn't get the best use out of my Stoneforge Mystic in the deck with only 1 piece of equipment, but at least it a good one!

    I'm not a big fan of cutting Torch Fiend for the new Chandra. I'd probably cut Blistering Firecat first.

    We made the decision to cut the Torch Fiend after looking over how it's been played in the cube thusfar. It's been a very lackluster early drop, that has rarely (if ever) been used for his ability. Blistering Firecat has been backbreaking as a finisher on the other hand, so I really feel like we would want to keep it in there.
    This isn't necessarily the final swap, as we're only at a testing point with the new Chandra. If we don't find her performing I imagine we'll re-evaluate her in a few months.

    Just noticed that this hasn't been updated in a few months now. Just wondering if there have been any updates recently?

    Hi,
    Anybody find a good sideboard card against "living end" ?

    I've played against Living End a few times as the meta in my area has a couple of decks, and I've found that Rule of Law has been my best defense against it. It shuts off the primary mechanic (cascade) until they find an answer and remove the Rule. That's my 2 cents.

    Hey wtwfl got a question for ya: I'm trying to help out with a USAstrat's cube and updating it with Elvish Mystic and Chandra, Pyromaster. I'm looking over the list and it seems REALLY tight, and I can't see what would be able to be cut for them. Any ideas?

    So looking over the new spoilers do you think that Strionic Resonator is going to be able to make it into the deck? Seems cheap to play and activate and dropping multiple fatties in a turn can't be a bad thing!

    Forgive me for asking if this has has already been addressed - but may I ask if it would be possible to use a critter suite with the 8 x 1 drops, 4 of the kor wizards as draw engines and run a couple or three of burrenton forgetenders or spellskites main deck?

    From what I see there are issues surrounding the number of critters and the need for a man g1 and the vulnerability to discard and lilly. People are running extra hexproof guys with cmc 2 to hedge bets vs the jund style decks.

    The forgetender is almost hexproof vs red, can block red things on its own and could serve double duty vs pyroclasm. The skite is an answer to twin, and other opposing g2 skites and could keep a draw engine guy alive. If the worst happens and the hexproof guy dies or is discarded an umbra + FT is hard to kill, even vs maelstrom pulse/decay.

    I am assuming the basic suite of ethereals, rancors, coronets, mantles and umbras is untouchable. Running 15 men (inc 4 guides) seems to be a lot safer than 12.

    If the worst happens I would rather have a rancored FT or skite until a draw engine comes along to get me going again.

    I am also wondering why the deck runs path main- blockers are unlikely to be a worry with 4 mantle, and few men survive an encounter with those first strikers.

    The deck sometimes seems to own aggro if coronet hits, but on the draw v grull it seems harder. Is this other people's experience?

    I've only been getting into the format over the last couple of months, but I find that having too many creatures main deck severely hurts the ramp that this deck has. In my meta there are a few Jund players, but I have yet to really have any problems against them. They might be running main deck Lilly, but that's the reason why we have Dryad Arbor in the deck. They drop a liliana T3 and try to get us to sac? I sac a fetch land, pull out the arbor and it dies instead, then kill liliana on the backswing (if it looks like she might be an issue). After G1? Side in your Leyline of Sanctity and she gets shut off fast and hard.

    As far as the main deck Path's there are a number of creatures that they work great against in G1 that you mentioned. It's the first round so we don't have our full set of artifact removal in, so they take out the Spellskite's that they opponents are playing.

    Hey there, welcome to the forums and thanks for the feedback! My thread is getting kind of long these days but we have addressed some of your suggestions before. Some time ago, my group and I decided to cut reanimator targets. That's why you don't see Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite or Griselbrand in our list. We debated several black creatures before settling on our current configuration. We were also playing with the Pox subtheme, in which Tombstalker gets much better. I'm still not impressed with it at 360 so we'll see.

    Hopefully you're not impressed with the Pox theme and are still happy with Tombstalker! I always find he's a blowout in any game where black is going to be used! Just wanted to make sure that he isn't going anywhere anytime soon :p

    Hey guys, random question about a game that has been bothering me earlier today. I was playing with a friend and we were both running infect modern decks. At one point I animated my Inkmoth Nexus and attacked my opponent, taking advantage of an exalted trigger by my Noble Hierarch. My opponent then animated his own Inkmoth Nexus and blocked mine. At the time my Inkmoth was a 2/2 and his was a 1/1, so mine had a -1/-1 counter placed on it and his died. So here is the question:
    What is the order at the end of turn in this situation? Does my Inkmoth become a land first, thus not dying to the wither counter because it has the +1/+1 on it still from exalted? Or does the +1/+1 from exalted come off my Inkmoth first and then it dies from the -1/-1 counter placed earlier?

    Thanks!

    Hey everyone! Here is my DGM update:

    Dauthi Horror -> Blood Scrivener
    Electrolyze -> Ral Zarek

    So far, we've only had one draft with the new cards and Blood Scrivener has yet to draw any cards. Hopefully Ral Zarek will make an appearance soon.

    On another note, here is some new pimp that we have accumulated in the last couple of months:

    The Noble Hierarch is amazing!

    Wow, those cards look really good! I think the only one I haven't seen in person is the prowler but it looks really good!

    Also, hopefully Ral makes his grand appearance soon! Seems like he should definitely be a winner in Izzet Grin
